I love how James starts to say "We're gonna do a Saxon song" and Biff just starts talking over him, shouting to the crowd. Biff's a true vet.

Say what you want about metallica, but they do a good job of paying homage to their predecessors. Their first big gig was opening for Saxon, and they never forgot.

Nice when a band doesn't think they are too big that they can't pay homage to a band who, although never having the followers Metallica had, were never the less a huge influence on many bands (and Saxon are my FAVORITE metal band!).

In my day ( 1980 ) mainstream people didn’t KNOW of any metal bands - nowadays there’s hundreds of thousands of great metal bands from all over this planet along with metal channels and stations . How can you old metalheads be Pissed-Off with today’s’ world because compared to the late 70s etc , That era was limited as hell. Just saying 🙄🏴😇❤️from Wessex

A lad at school in 1980 -Julian B who’d never been interested in Ac/DC or Lizzy or Motörhead made a point of telling us “ I’ve heard this great rock band called The Tigers of Pan Tang “ ...the radio HAD been playing their cover of “ Love Potion No 9 “ which was very cool and had a cool video . Metal bands getting played on bbc radio one apart from Lizzy was unusual until the NWOBHM.

I prefer Saxon myself.

Music can be simple, and brilliant. Cudos to biff for his long time commitment to metal!

Saxon was the first band i ever saw (all the way back in '80 on the 'Strong Arm of the Law' Tour!). I think the ticket was £3. Really showing my age now. I was only 12 at the time but i fucking loved the whole experience. I must have had a good time because i went back to see them again in '81 at the same venue (Cardiff Sophia Gardens........which sadly no longer exists :( ). I saw Motorhead for the first time in '82 as well........and Iron Maiden in '83. Those were some great days for UK Metal bands. Some band or other were always touring and i always had tickets ready for the next gig. Those were the good old days before everything got super-commercial and less fun.

I saw Saxon on a triple bill in Dallas, Texas in 1983 with Molly Hatchet on first, then Saxon, then Iron Maiden... One of the most incredible nights musically in the history of music. And Biff absolutely owned that stage! Fucking brilliant.

i met the band in 2019 and in 2019 i went in their concert down here in PORTO ALEGRE those guys are an amazing rock and roll band i'm listening all their albums now... when you see it live you feel the thing and the biff good vibe so i'm in

I've seen both bands several times and I love them both since the late 70's early 80's. SAXON though is still my all time fav band.

Would have been better if James had thanked Biffer and Saxon for letting them borrow their riffs.

You show 'em, Biff !!... show them how it's done. Biff is probably 10 or more years older than Hetfield and he sings better and a lot louder than the metallica dude. Always has. By the way, the guys made this song into a decent cover but it doesn't come close to the real thing... the mighty SAXON!!!.... FUU...YEAHHHH... SAXON RULES!!!

Biff is excellent. Saw them in Milwaukee in 83, 84? They opened for UFO on their Mechanix tour. After all of the concerts ive been to, I can still remember the show. Shattering clean sound! Just one of those nights where the opener sounded like a playback in a studio. Great to hear he still has his voice

And The Bands played on ...Strangers In the Night .... Dallas 1pm .... Nothing in Metallica's canon can touch those wonderful songs.

I was there, amazing !!!

That was my first gig, D&L tour at Sheffield City Hall ... I can still feel the heat from the Eagle lights. Amazing! Very few bands connect with the audience like Saxon..Byff is effortless in his command...I had a chat with him a few years ago and he told me off for not going to see them more often....shame that Saxon gigs aren't 5 pounds entry fee anymore!

Biff's voice has held up well for as many years as Saxon has been around. Saw them open for Cheap Trick and Krokus in Nashville in 1983 or so. After that show, I bought The Eagle Has Landed - Live. It cost a little more because it was an import but I didn't care. It had most of the songs that I had just been introduced to.
