“Pilgrimage is a fantastic word. People go on pilgrimages all the time, not just in a historical or religious sense, but it’s about going and visiting either a place that you feel is special in your life or somebody that’s meant something in your life. You can go on a pilgrimage to go see your great grandfather who died in the First World War for instance. They’re journeys of great weight and importance.” Bx #Saxon #CarpeDiem #ThePilgrimage

Produced by Andy Sneap (Judas Priest, Exodus, Accept and Priest guitarist) at Backstage Recording Studios in Derbyshire with Byford and Sneap mixing and mastering, Carpe Diem strikes the ear as one of the most essential British metal statements of the last few years and not lacking in pace or bite, an album which will ignite the joy in stalwart supporters and attract a whole new legion to the Saxon fold.
“Utterly brilliant, utterly essential, go get yourself a copy” - POWER PLAY
“Saxon present with Carpe Diem another immediately igniting classic heavy metal album.
For sure with long-term effect!” - CLASSIC ROCK
“Carpe Diem is the most self-contained, compositionally compact, solid and strongest album for some time and a declaration of love to the classic British Heavy Metal. Go and get this record!” - METAL HAMMER
"Carpe Diem overall serves as a testament that Saxon still has plenty of bullets left in their guns and showcases a band entering their fifth decade of existence with fire still burning." - BLABBERMOUTH
“With hard riffs, embedded in ‘liquid’ guitar melodies Saxon is presenting
their new songs within the sound of the 2020’s. A lot of speed, energy and a bit aggression as well!” - GOOD TIMES
“Carpe Diem provides the listener a perfect equation into the chemistry that has made Saxon so successful for so many years. The riffs on the album demonstrate how bands like Metallica found Saxon to be so influential. - BRUTAL PLANET
“Carpe Diem is Saxon's most energetic record since as long as we can remember'' - AARDSCHOK
“Carpe Diem, the mighty Saxon hit the bullseye again!” - HARD ROCK
“Carpe Diem by Saxon makes every minute count on this masterpiece of blazing metal music.
This legendary British heavy metal band continues to create music that stays true to form, yet is vibrant and extremely satisfying” - METAL WANI
"Carpe Diem is a relentless breakout of traditional Heavy Metal. Even after 23 studio albums the brits can deliver metal of maximum quality” - METAL HAMMER
“Quick question - how does a heavy metal band survive for over 6 decades?
Answer - release albums like Carpe Diem, that’s how!!! - KICKASS FOREVER
“Seemingly unable to write a bad album even if their lives depended on it, Saxon deliver
the goods once again” - GHOST CULT MAGAZINE
“Thanks to their view to the future, along with a fine sound production, made by Andy Sneap, the vision of Carpe Diem looks to me like a sheer success, a definite addition to the band's grand legacy” - METAL TEMPLE
“Carpe Diem is a hard-hitting album that shows how determined, dynamic and energetic these veterans of metal sound in 2022.'' - HEADBANGERS LIFESTYLE

As a 19yr old, it is hard to find people who enjoy this kind of music, everyone is talking about rap music and pop music, and I'm just there in the corner listening to stuff like this. I want to try my hand at making music, and if I can actually do it, I'll do everything I can do to bring the sprit of heavy metal and rock n roll into the modern times, because this is some good music

Your comment reminded me a very good friend i lost last year... He was like a REAL brother to me, i learned a lot from him. Big fan of Saxon, sometimes he used to tell EXACTLY the same you said, when we were listening (loud) some great Rock/Metal song like this... It's just the magic of MUSIC/METAL, we don't need to understand it, just feel.
I'm a 58 year old from Central PA. In the local mall I came across an album. Castle Donington Monsters of Rock. It featured 2 Rainbow songs, 2 from the Scorpions. April Wine I Like To Rock, a band called Touch Dontcha Know What Love Is. From New York Riot doin Road Racing. Then there was this 3 minute intense metal kick to the senses, Backs To The Wall by the Mighty SAXON !!! That was back in 1984. That one track led me on a mission to acquire the entire library. I even found the Best of Saxon Live 10 year VHS video. Before the internet I was traveling west to Pittsburgh to buy Saxon. I have pretty much their entire library with the last few releases I haven't purchased yet. But soon.
LONG LIVE THIS SAXON'S EMPIRE OF MUSIC!

Shine the light, show the way We are leaving, leaving today To take the path already trodden To try and find what we're looking for It will be hard, it will be long We'll never falter, we shall be strong Our destination that is our quest We will not waiver, we will not rest The journey has begun We're marching on and on The pilgrimage The pilgrimage Through the ages the path was worn To find redemption and be reborn In modern times we seek our heroes We look for comfort, we search for peace A higher meaning, something spiritual A music icon or religious miracle We look for something to show the way We're all just pilgrims on life's highway To tread the pilgrim's path We won't be the last The pilgrimage The pilgrimage Some holy relic, a miracle cure Some deed of courage, a site of war It's human nature to find a meaning Of why we're here and endless dreaming To set our sights on distant lands We seek our way with open hands It's life's big question that's what we seek In times of trouble show no defeat The journey has begun We're marching on and on We search the pilgrim's path For icons of the past The pilgrimage

After all these years, Saxon are still knocking out some Great tracks
I remember when I heard first song of Saxon. That was Broken Heroes in 84or 85.Since this time I become fan of this band.Greetings from Poland.
Habrá gente que les siga poniendo en la segunda fila...grupazo eterno que después de 40 años sacan este disco que es de lo mejor en años.
WE'RE TALKING ABOUT ONE OF THE BEST HEAVY METAL BANDS IN THE WORLD, THE GUYS HAVE BEEN OVER 50 A LONG TIME AND THE SOUND POWER OF SAXON IS STILL KILLING, THAT'S WONDERFUL!!
Saxon has been part of my life for Forty years They are a fantastic Band Cannot wait to see them Thank You PLANET SAXON
Forever legend saxon , classic melody masterpiece music.
Esta peña es que por años que pasen, discos que saquen, no bajan ni un ápice el nivel. ¡¡¡Son MAGISTRALES!!
I am floored!!! This is incredible!!!
Been listening since the "70s... incredible!!!
