@MyName__ Kosmo He didn't really "leave", he was kicked out. He basically wrote The Four Horsemen (he introduced the song as Mechanix but after he was kicked they wrote new lyrics and changed up the song, he released the song after forming Megadeth), he also contributed in Phantom Lord (bridge riff), Metal Militia (contribution actually unknown), Ride the Lightning (chorus riff), Call of Ktulu (part of the intro), Seek and Destroy (solo), and claims to have written the bridge riff in Leper Messiah. EDIT: Actually silly of me to forget that Jump in the Fire was pretty much written by Mustaine and was tweaked to the Kill Em All version while he was still in the band.

It’s time for Spit Out The Bone or Now That We’re Dead from Metallica. Also for a hard hitting drummer check out Vinnie Paul. He was the drummer for Pantera and HellYeah. He was also in a couple other groups called Damage Plan and Rebel Meets Rebel. Personally I prefer the Pantera/HellYeah music myself.

I ain't no drummer but I have been playing the bass guitar since 7th grade (the early 80s, right around this time...) so I am quite familiar with what you mean by his amazing time-keeping chops - simply amazing, in my humble and accurate opinion. Correction-- his drumming WAS fine. I'm sure the cocaine helped, but he was a creative and dexterity machine on the first 3 albums. After the Black album he got really fucking lazy. Try to watch modern live Metallica, it's hard to listen to when you have off-time, randomly placed fills.

Loving your reactions man! Curious what you think of the band Textures. If you want a drumcam I suggest Stef Broks' Illuminate the Trail drum playthrough (he's a lefty). They're very diverse metal (hence the name), but Meshuggah is a big influence groove-wise. And Stef is a fantastic drummer, he throws in a lot of his fusion/jazz skills. Way more melodic than Meshuggah though. and great clean vocals. Awake has a fantastic black and white video clip too and they always have inspiring, fairly positive-minded lyrics for an extreme metal band. Also I think you'll like Mastodon's Blood and Thunder. Stay safe, peace.

Maaan... I’ve grown up with this band. Bought their first album in 1984, and while I’m a guitar guy, actually know Lars is a good drummer. And he is. I’ve never heard someone give such a great response in regards to the shade that gets thrown at Lars. You did that buy saying what you did about timing. That applies to ALL drummers. So when a drummer who has skills says that about Lars, that is spoken out of pure envy. And even though there are better drummers, not many have been in one of the Four bands credited for starting the thrash genre, and even less credit he gets for setting the standard for thrash drumming. Yeah, he sucks. So I want to compliment you, especially as a new metalhead, for teaching an old ass metalhead something! For that, I’m gonna raid your merch, metal needs you to keep doing what you’re doing. BTW, you’re daughter is a more than worthy co-host! Such great insight for someone even younger! Ya done good dad. From one dad to another.

They also lent a lot of their music to an HBO documentary called Paradise Lost about the kids charged w murder just bc they liked metal and wore black clothes. Has turned into a 3 part documentary at this point. You should check it out. It is really good.
