When you look at Metallica's complete catalog, they are one of the most diverse and complete bands in history. I know a lot of people don't like Load and Reload, but they compliment the rest of the catalog very nicely.

Yo BroMan, they don't complement it, they ARE the catalog. Personally I don't give absolute fuck (just as papa Het in the beginning) about what people say. I love ALL 'tallica albums and get genuine orgasm listening to St. Anger being in real anger. Only by living the same kind of emotions you begin to understand the message the album carries. And then you find yourself adoring MetallicA's true genius of carrying the whole epochs of their lives through the songs. So fuck all haters, this band is one of the best EVER!!!

I was in high school when Load came out and saw them on the '98 tour in Virginia. While not my favorite album, I think it's one of their best. I'm a guitar player myself and from a musical standpoint, this album is phenomenal. Dueling leads, multi-layered guitars, great production. Speaking from experience, as you get older you get tired of playing the same old thing day in and day out. You try to learn new things, broaden your horizons and expand your repertoire. They've done that here and as musicians they are all the better for it. It's okay to not like it but try to understand where they are coming from, they had been basically playing the same 3-4 styles of songs for 20 years and wanted to do something different. Mission accomplished. Rock on mother fuckers!!!

I like Jason, but to say heart if the band... that's a step too far. You can't compare what he does to what James is doing. James just makes it all look easy. They all play their parts, but if James had a bad night ots over. Its on his shoulders as the vocalist. You'd have to understand how a band works to know its ultimately on the lead vocalist (and he plays the rhythm guitar too!)

This was the first Metallica song I ever heard. I was in the back seat of my dad's car with my brother and sister; my sister and I were probably 9 years old, our little brother was 6 (around 1998). My dad played this at full blast off his "Load" album that he had on cassette tape. Became an instant Metallica fan and will never, ever forget that day ♥
