I love every version of this track, but the stumble on the kazoo while Tobias struggles not to laugh makes it my favorite overall.

Seeing you laugh when Tobias (as Papa III here) whipped out his kazoo was the best! The Kazoo of Destiny is indeed only on the live, acoustic version of this song, and it is fucking amazing. I've got a burlesque number that I dance to the original version, and for any Ghost fans in the crowd, the surprise prop that I whip out of my corset (before taking it off) is a bright yellow kazoo. This song is just way too much fun! EDIT: That is indeed another full head silicone mask, pre-painted, just like you thought. It covers from the neck up, and was molded to look like Bela Lugosi. Tobias has a really deep love of old horror movies - Cardinal Copia's mask is based on Vincent Price, and most of the videos borrow a lot from old movies. Hunter's Moon was written for the movie Hallowen Kills, and it's definitely worth a watch and listen too.

Omg yes. First off that is a mask. Secondly obviously stripped down version of the original. In the future I think most of us would love to see you react to the studio version right after you see this. I know I’d stick around to see your reaction. also I don’t think you should fuel the bad about reacting to a song that is just lyrics and the album version we want you to hear ghost as it was presented on the albums and see your reaction to it watching live things it’s probably better after you’ve heard the song already once.

Your reaction when Papa Emeritus 3 pickes up the Kazoo of Destiny (Yes it's it's names and Papa 3 is listed in wikipedia as a professional Kazoo player) was priceless 😅. On the record it is not acoustic and no Kazoo. The guitarist on the left is Martin Persner and on the right Simon Söderberg. It was Simon who was behind the lawsuit together with 3 other people. Martin was not part of it at all. But he has left to and now is back with Magna Carta Cartel. His old band that Tobias also was a part of before Ghost. Yes it is time to go back. My recommendation would be Stand By Him that was the first song Tonight ever wrote for Ghost or Elizabeth that was the first single released.

There's like 68 songs from them, 12 of it being covers, so... It might take awhile ♡ Btw the kazoo of destiny is killing it!!

i remember when that video came out. it was like a fever dream. also yeah that's a mask. it's always a mask. each "papa" looks different. back when tobias was being super secretive about everything, it was probably a handy way to avoid being recognized on the street in addition to helping him embody a character more fully. now i think it's just kind of tradition.

Con Clavi Con Dio and Per Aspera Ad Inferi live is the best one because they do a cool transition between both songs

The lawsuit was NOT about writing credits, it was about touring money owed to the band. The people who wrote songs with Tobias on the albums got paid their fair share and none of them were involved in the lawsuit. Plus, the people who sued lost. And then finally settled for an unknown amount after multiple lawsuits. Anyway, an acoustic version that is actually superior to the album version is If You Have Ghosts (Live Acoustic) | HardDrive Online.

The live version of If You Have Ghosts is amazing. I'm sad I came to Ghost so late I didn't get to see them when they were touring with it in their setlist. I also prefer the live version of Jigolo Har Megiddo

YES! Start with the albums!!! There are so few doing this..that's the proper way! so many good songs left out..

It's always a mask. Go check out a photo of Tobias, you'll see the facial structure for each mask really doesn't match him. Some masks are painted, some are fleshtone. But seriously look at the mouth when he's shown in closeup on the first lyrics. You can literally see his lips behind the mask lips.

Yep, Tobias has never performed as Papa without a mask. Each album has had a different mask for each Papa. I've never actually seen this video before, so you've technically introduced me to something of Ghost I haven't seen. I've heard of it, just never watched it. The kazoo is definitely not in the studio version. You'll have to let us know in your next Ghost reaction how you like the studio version of this song. I honestly would love for you to do Impera first just because I love the album, but starting from the beginning of their discography and working your way forward would give you a much better feel of Ghost's progression. Either way, I'll be here. Eventually you'll have to listen to some of the covers Ghost has done - most really are fantastic.

I don't think starting from the beginning is necessary to optimize your enjoyment at all with the band. However, it might be interesting for you to see where they started and how they evolved. It might give you better insight as to why some of the 'original' fanbase feels a little spurned by them. A lot of the tracks on the first album had a very similar vibe & feel. While the second album strayed a little bit, it was still similar enough in feel to the first. The third album is when things really started to shift though, where they started to test their boundaries into what else they could try out.

Gotta agree with the other commenters, you’ve just about done all the music videos and great live videos, except maybe If You Have Ghost and Jigolo Har Meggido live and acoustic. But half of the band’s best songs don’t have music videos or good live videos. But I’d love to hear you just react to the studio albums with just audio or lyric videos. Zombie Queen album version is killer but the version from their live album Ceremong and Devotion is my favourite. Not acoustic, heavy as fuck.

But I cannot recommend enough "If you have ghosts" the live acoustic version, not the electric version. its a southern rock song written by Roky Erickson and he's a schizophrenic. Its the best live vocal performance on video of Tobias Forge in my opinion, its insane

Yep it made me love Tobias more actually. It’s his project his baby and it is a shame they outed him as the man behind Ghost but he has come on leaps and bounds so everything must happen for a reason I suppose .

The best version of this song is on the Live album "Ceremony and Devotion". I don't really like the studio version because of its production, even if "Infestissumam" is really cool but they missed the production on this particular song, I even prefer this acoustic version.

If you ONLY want to do Ghost reactions to music videos, this is going to be a short journey. They only have a handful of official music videos. And they only have about a dozen good live pro-shot videos, only one of them, Mary On A Cross, with actual live audio, and the other, Faith, with studio audio. So, if I were you, I'd shift my strategy & just react to the album versions.

On the topic of the lawsuit: It's a pretty messy situation. I can't say I actually know THAT much about it, but I feel like both sides ended up looking kinda bad in it. Seems to be a case where they started having success and everyone involved saw the dollars waiting to be scooped up. There probably was a better compromise that could have been reached, but Ghost isn't the first rock and roll band to face turmoil and shifting band members. Regardless of that, its definitely worth your time to check out one of the off-shoot bands that resulted from some of those former members: MCC [Magna Carta Cartel] In particular they have an awesome 'live' set that runs about 19 minutes titled February Full Moon Live Session Its really great stuff, and its also weird how the vocals still even sound like Ghost even though its a completely different singer. Its pretty wild. No gimmicks or anything, just solid rock.

I think you'll like the studio version better, I do. Also there isn't a music video for Griftwood but I would like to watch a reaction for the studio version. It's my favourite Ghost song.

I have seen this version and I love the quirkiness about it but I don't think it's a good introduction to the song.
