Or it's people enjoying what they love because it makes them happy. Metal is music which is a form of art. It's not a business. Once you make it a business aspect you take away the aspect of what made Metal Metal. Being different from society and not following its norms. Disliking and hating the people in it is how society overall saw Rock and what it was doing to society in the beginning of its formation. Living an alternate life style against what one finds acceptable. To be against what these people find enjoyable is to ultimately be against what Metal used to stand for.

@@TheLemonKiller You're painting these people as if they're rebels with a cause, born to oppose the status quo. For some on the app, that may be the case, but for most, they're simply lemmings who like the aesthetic. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that. I'm not about to gatekeep something as universal as music, but I'm almost completely certain that the vast majority of Metal TikTok has not put as much thought into it as you did here.

@@thedanverse Understandable. However that's not necessarily what I'm saying. It's really just how Came acrossed. Sure, some had that in mind back in the early days with how they wanted to portray themselves and the music they made. But bands like The Beatles didn't have that in mind at all. Yet, they were regarded as devils and heathens and such. Not saying that The Beatles are Metal. But my point remains. The overall point is that people dislike something and have a problem with it. It makes them feel a certain way about it. But in most cases that means they're doing something right. The head dude over at Revolver Magazine made a statement about bands these days and that general dislike for what they're doing. Similar to people disliking what Tik-Tokers and such are doing. But ended with saying that's basically just how Metal was to begin with. Sure some might not exactly have that in mind to be doing it as a rebelling thing. By happenstance they fall into the mix with those that are as some say; trying to hard.

Nik doesn't seem to understand that TikTok is 100% entirely about attractiveness, not content. If someone is good looking, particularly a cute young girl, they'll get many views no matter what they do. Literally just sitting there listening to music, or eating food, doing anything, being attractive means people will watch you do anything.

I love metal, but whenever I see shit like this I am kinda glad I can not be lumped into the same group as these people just from looking outside. most of the tropes are pretty cringe. agree with Nick, the speed drawing of the art is impressive, everything else is trash pretty much.

bruh, I'm listening to metal since jhs, now I am in hs. And even I know that they are not metals. Metal is not about killing infants and selling your soul to Satan. And you don't need to be always in black clothes, with boots on. 85% of metalheads are nice bois and gurls, younger or older. Being 'hardcore' is not always being metal.
