I was obsessed with this song around the time my daughter was 'newborn' so about 16 years ago along with 'Bliss' and' plug in baby' a great album.

Additionally you should also listen to other least known Muse songs like Easily, Glorious, Eternally Missed. I'm sure you will love'em and it's always nice to see those songs getting recognition

Glorious might just be the most underrated Muse song out there.

Playing this on guitar back in the day was a total ear catcher around the block jiji

I've heard that with blocked videos you can submit a counter-argument or counterclaim and pick "reaction video" from the available options. Another reaction channel I follow does this and they've managed to keep all their videos up despite many of them even showing the full official music video alongside it. Don't know if this info will help but just throwing it out there.

This is one that I think is worth watching a live version of, whether it's just for yourself or for a video. One song that I can say is truly elevated when played live.

I'd say an early live version though, before Matt started going OTT on the whammy pedal and pitch shifting. The Hullaballoo version is probably best in my opinion.

You vould basically just go the entire album straight through. It is that good. Back in the day when my CD arrived in the mail and I sat down to listen.. well, let's just say I had no idea what I was in for. I had heard one song from them which was a ballad from the previous record, and Bliss, live from werchter. So 19 yr old me went "wtaf" as soon as New Born kicked into gear. The rest of the album was such a journey and the future of how I approached and looked at how to write/approach music changed forever. It is not surprising at all that you've gotten such positive and/or engaging responses to these videos. That is the MUSE-community for ya. It is almost (for good or bad) a religion to a lot of their fans. Especially the ones who "grew up" with them. Have a good one.

Origin of Symmetry is the album where the band's signature sounds were created and perfected. This is one of the very few albums where all the tracks are considered equally great from start to finish. Another song I would recommend from this album is Plug In Baby where the guitar riffs has been voted as one of the best/greatest riffs in several publication.

I'm only here for Muse so keep them coming, 15 Muse concert veteran.

I found Muse when Absolution was released, so all I had to enjoy at the time was the first three albums and I played them to death. Newborn and Plug In Baby were two of my favorites. That was back when I could see Muse for like $30... those were the days.

All good brother and not a shock in my book. The Handler is a great piece of art Imo. I was excited to see it, but I hope you enjoyed it. I love New Born also. Muse jumps around many genres of music and I appreciate that. You will see. =)

Exactly! so many Muse songs are pretty RATM-like, for instance, Revolt. Even you can play Revolt and freedom back to back and notice a minimum difference. Luckily I love both bands

this time i'll recommend a song from each individual album. From Showbiz, the title track. It's a slow crescendo into a desperate, melancholic and explosive finale From Origin of Symmetry: Hyper Music. It's one of the most intense tracks in the album, if not the most intense. From Absolution: Butterflies and Hurricanes. A prog, multi part song with a romantic piano interlude and strong guitar parts. From BH&R: Supermassive Black Hole. the only other track sang entirely in falsetto, also featuring a groovy and catchy guitar riff. From The Resistance: Unnatural Selection. similar structure to B&H above, with a quite part and a solo between two heavier sections. From The 2nd Law: Survival. a Queen-esque energetic anthem with choirs, absolutely explosive vocals and a heavy stompy rythm. From Drones: The Globalist. A 10-minute long adventure in three sections spanning different styles and instruments. From Simulation Theory: Blockades. the heaviest track on the record, featuring dark, synthy heavy guitars and an explosive chorus.

If you want something completely different from muse I would recommend Propaganda, the dark side or Break it to me from Simulation Theory. It's not extremely well liked by the older muse fan's but since you are a new fan you just might like it!

hey the handler, just check out live version Amsterdam 2016 or from drones rehearsal: it's soo nice. New Born, check out live maybe 2004 at Pinkpop or earlier, then you know you were born in a wrong timeframe... Good luck, and thanks for diving into Muse, much appreciated.

If I could recommend one song from Muse it would be Animals. It shows Matt's lead guitar skills more so than in other songs where he does more chords/solo Also the time signature is different from most songs you've heard already.

For first listen through studio is better.

Something similar happened to me with The Handler. I recorded a drum cover of it and it got blocked. I tried changing the audio pitch a few times and those upload attempts also got blocked. There are even drum covers of it on KZread already and those people used the original unedited audio and it stayed up so yeah, I really don't get it. I don't understand KZread's policy because there are also other reactions to The Handler posted recently and those have stayed up. I guess there will never be a clear answer on what content is allowed on KZread and what isn't even if it is literally the same content. Also, this song is an absolute banger, you'll definitely love it

Great song. Sorry but you got to turn the volume up on the music. Every other reaction on KZread has the music coming out at full volume. I'm not sure what they do so they don't get blocked or whatever but I would like to hear what you're hearing
