    Nick D Nick my brother from another mother. Thanks mate I’m glad you liked it. I was blown away when I watched that guy do that. That was the good old days when we could travel and mingle with one and other. I pray we can get back to some normality in our lives soon 🙏

    Gday Aaron, that worked extremely well for MDF, I’ve never seen the forming by water pressure before, that was interesting, thanks for sharing mate, cheers Matty

    Hey Matty. Good to hear from mate. Yes that hydoforming is interesting. I first heard about it with Harley Davidson forming their V-Rod frame and then I saw that Colin Furze do it on his channel. Hope you’re keeping well buddy. Cheers 🍻

    @@DCT_Aaron_Engineering Considering I've had a hero4 sitting here unused for many years.....I'll be lucky if I even use the 9. lol As soon as I fired it up, it said it had a wifi connectivity issue. That was yesterday just after I opened it up.....been sitting since. I just want this stuff to work.....I'm really sick of buying tools like that and having them turn into projects before I can even use them. :( That set tru chuck better not become a problem or it will become a thousand dollar dent in my floor. lol Oh.....my tungsten grinder showed up later in the day.....I might see about playing with that today. :)

    Love the hydraulic press concept, never thought about using one like that before. Mythbusters made a pretty cool parabolic mirror (I think?) using the hydroforming method that was demoed in the second half, but I didn't realise it was so accessible to get started! Maybe I shouldn't be scared to try folding or forming something in sheet metal one day. Thanks for sharing :D

    Hi mate 👋 any idea what sort of tonnage I would require to press form 6mm aluminium sheet which would also have some embossed lettering? I was going to DIY a 20 ton press using a bottle jack but after watching this I'm assuming I need more than double? Any input would be appreciated 👍 👍

    What is the maximum thickness of the sheet that you can use with that press?

  • @DCT_Aaron_Engineering

    @DCT_Aaron_Engineering

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Patrick this sheet was approximately 0.5mm (+or-) thickness. I don’t think it could do much more than that to be honest. 🍻

    It would be a lot easier to clean up after the water blaster than the usual grease gun method. Thin material like that seems to work fine at 1500psi, the 10,000 from a grease gun not required.

    G’day Mike. Not wrong buddy. We used to use the grease method to remove the spigot bearing from the crankshaft. Bloody made a mess. Hope you’re well up there? I bet the weather is nicer there than here ATM. 🍻
