Mal was in one of the best rock rhythm guitarists of all time IMO. Closely followed by EVH. Eddie had such a mega swing to his playing. But malcom is why AC/DC sounded so damn mean and intense. Angus was the reason I started playing in the first place, my appreciation of Malcolm was ingrained later on. Realising how tight he played and how much attitude he put into the songs. Deceptively simple sounding, incredibly hard to replicate! Keep rocking dude!! ✌️😎

@@rickeymathis7672 100%! I think what people mean, is that their songs are objectively simple. Which is half true. They're simple in the sense that they figured out a formula for their sound. It's not based on over complicated chords and impossible riffs. However, playing it accurately, that's not so simple. Getting Mals rhythm exactly right, nailing the riffs like Angus, even nailing his vibrato, it takes more analysis than most give it. Pub bands tend to butcher AC/DC because they aren't identifying the minor details properly. It's harder to play accurately than people give it credit for.

AC/DC is the band that brought me into the hard rock genre. I was 10 years old and the first album I bought was Highway to Hell. Brian Johnson is a great singer but I’ll always be partial to early AC/DC and Bon Scott singing. In 1992 I had a great addition to my collection of AC/DC albums brought to me, it was a copy of the TNT album brought from Melbourne Australia. I had tried for years to get a copy but no record store could get it as it was only released in Australia.

Great riff selection metal dad.grrat sound!!! I had quite an unusual introduction to AC/DC.it was around 1985 I think, and even though I heard of AC/DC.i never listened to any songs yet.then one night a family supper,my father has the evening news on with Peter jennings.and I heard about these serial killings in California,by a guy called the night stalker (aka. Richard Ramirez).then they were reporting that an AC/DC song was the cause for inspiration for Ramirez.the song being "night prowler" from highway to hell album.i remember after supper going to right that down in my notebook.i kept notes about all hard rock and heavy metal things to check out.about two days later, after school.i went down to my local five and dime record store and looked for highway to hell.and to my surprise, one copy left.so I grabbed my hard earned allowance and bought the record.then I went home and put the record on.i listened to night prowler first.yeah it was a cool song, but a little slow in tempo then I started to hear beating around the bush, get it hot, highway to hell..etc... And I was hooked from that day on AC/DC.then I bought a lot more of their albums in the coming months.just a little trip down memory lane.rock on metal dad !!¡!!!

great story and playing, you remind me of me, I started pub circuits when I was 12 years old, still play today, some 50 years later, I ended up a session musician, lifes been fun, i wouldnt change it for anything, Im sure you are the same, cheers form Australia, land of the skippies hehehehe
A cover band I was in back in the early 80s used to play tnt, bad boy boogie, whole lotta rosie, problem child, live wire, long way to the top, highway to hell, dog eat dog, as well of lots of devo songs. So long ago.

One of the best rock bands ever
I love how ya broke out the SG for this jam session ! Rock on !
I always loved Let Me Put My Love Into You, that one goes hard and sounds so simple.. but it hits the spot. It's actually impossible for me to pick a favorite song or album from ACDC because they're just that good. Walk All Over You is another one that really does it for me
I salute you Sir...raw rock and roll...🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
You sir are badass !!!!!!
Great Video. This is the sound of my teenage years.
Great to hear also something else, not just the "usual suspects". Good job man👍

Very cool!
"Sink the Pink" riff has a hint of The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again".

Like Angus’ signature schoolboy outfit, you’ve got your signature La-Z-Boy- love it, keep on Rockin’!
My all time favorite riff is for those about to rock malcoms part of course something about that riff makes me think of my dad .
Cool👍👍👍
"Metal Dad likes AC/DC and I know you do too" Aah he's right!
ever since i was around 5 years old i have loved AC/DC i am 14 years old now and i will always like it till im old. i am a rock kid.
100 percent agree with all 10. And Mutt Lange nailed it on Back and Black. It’s a masterpiece.
AC/DC is the shizzle and so are you Metal Dad 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
10 months late but better late than never. Killin it my brother 💪👊 You didn't get my favorite... Money Talks. My opinion, one of the best tracks they released. That guitar solo hits hard!
Fly on the Wall has some of AC/DC's best guitar work ever but the really echoey sound on the album is hard to get past. But the riffs are SO GOOD
I have the unofficial release of highway to hell album and all acdc CDs they are truly the most creative band out for rock music
Show!! Abraços do Brasil! 🇧🇷
T.N.T and Highway to Hell are my favorites to play on guitar. Rock on.
All I have to say is LET THERE BE ROCK!
Love the videos! Can you do a video on the rod you are using to get the great tones?
Seen then in Knoxville Tenn 85....my eyes flashed for days and my ears rang....great show indeed👍🇺🇸🎶🎵😈
Somebody needs to listen to Powerage….every riff is so great to play🤘
For Those About to Rock is always gonna AC/DC's Masterpiece in my eyes
I officially feel like I don't know anything about AC/DC I mean i am only 14 but still grew up in this world of amazing bands. like how i went to go see def leopard and motley crue and I just felt like i was on heaven that night
Do You smell the Canon Powder? Metal Dad Socks in Hi Res! 😆 Great riffs! The room in the basement has very good resonance though? 🙂
All so of my favorites too! I can’t believe Thunderstruck and Highway to Hell didn’t make the list though 🤯

Acdc makes everyone rock
🔥🤘🏽🔥🍻
We need to see Metal Dad with his 80's spandex and frosted mullet....:)
my favorite album is “let there be rock” and my second is “back in black”
I had forgotten how good the Back in Black album was until you played all those riffs. I know all those songs but I had forgotten most of them came from that one album. The only riff I didn't hear you do that I thought should be on the list is Highway to Hell but that's just one of my favorites to play because it's easy and I'm not as good as you.
I’m familiar with all songs but Flick of the Switch, but other than that, the ones I heard are some of my favorite AC/DC riffs, too.
Big fan of the channel I'm 59 born in 1963 just curious how old you are, and I remember all the ACDC albums thank you for bringing back old memories love your KISS videos the band that I saw probably the most I wish we could talk about all the concerts we've seen I've seen so many. The bands that I've seen the most would be KISS Van Halen OZZY Aerosmith and Judas Preist. Trivia Question for anyone, name the only 2 members of the band Runaways that were successful and here's a clue, they were both female.

@@MetalDadRocks Correct, and I remember cherry bomb was their first hit, and they were like 15 and sixteen.
"Oh you thought I forgot..."😂
My favorite to play off of Back In Black when it comes to riffology is Shake A Leg.
