@@RobinvanderHorst Nobody is paying it so we can't - or at the very least nobody I know. 😂 I work in social media and you won't see "ads" if you pay. But promoted posts and organic sponsored content, you will.

Some people will absolutely sign up to this. And I do think it'll be older and very young people - I see gen z shouting that they hate ads the most. But will the loss of users mean the sites have value to people who are paying? I don't think so. Also, orange to you 🍊

Absolutely. But when the EU ruling kicks in they'll have to do something. And they'll give us an option to use it for free. But given that ad rates are also dropping because they don't work (ie translate to sales), we might be asked to pay. I think the majority of people will not pay for social media. Brands will - I know this first hand - and creators might. But I can't see a wide spread adoption of this.

I deleted mine in January, had the account for a year after being away for a decade. It just makes me feel crap about myself.

@@natts No, not at all. I just find social media toxic. I'm older than social media too. I come from a time called 'forget' when you would forget about people and times and life was linear, before we curated every little bit onto the internet. Plus I'm busy being an artist, all the time I'm on social media I could be being creative.

The streaming apps have over estimated how much we like them. We LOVE the stories that writers make. But they can be distributed by anyone. Social media apps have an over inflated sense of importance. But without content, they're nothing. So I totally agree. A pirate life for me 😅
