Haha. Thank you. I try to put jokes in for people who just leave the videos on in the background and other jokes for people who are actually watching/ focused 😀 so it means a lot when people "find them all". I'm glad you loved it dude. Godspeed 🙌

Can anyone name one positive thing these platforms provide? its all about them keeping people addicted to their platforms, anything else is incidental, ie keeping people connected blah blah.

I'd argue that in their origin they did offer a lot of positive features and tools. I'm actually working on a video about this and why they all inevitably end up this way 😎

They actually keep a monopoly on keeping people connected. I unfortunately haven't talked to most of my family in so long, because they all use WhatsApp and I refuse to use any Facebook product.

As someone who can remember before the Internet, it was genuinely amazing to have somewhere to find old friends, keep in touch with family you didn't see very often, organise nights out without having to ring or text 20 different people. The big one was photo sharing. Hard to imagine, but back as little as 2000 you basically had to print copies and mail them IN TH POST if you wanted to 'share'. Facebook came about the same time as friends reunited which wanted to actually charge you proper money to contact old friends you'd lost touch with. The utility provided by these platforms is taken for granted, it does not justify what they do, but there is genuine utility.
