based on the popular Mesa Walkabout head, the WD800 brings a tube preamp and 800 watts to the table. Here's how it sounds and works... Note to self: turn off AF next time
Жүктеу.....

I have been researching both of these amps. Do you prefer the D800 or the WD800 when playing your passive P-Bass? Please let me know. Thanks.

The WD has a wide range of tones and sounds great with a pbass. I got my WD as a lighter alterntive to my SVT and it's sounding amazing. The High pass filter is a bonus, it works great. I bought my WD 2 months before the TT came out and was kicking myself but it's different enough that I am glad I got it.

I prefer the WD - it is a bit edgier and has more EQ options. My D800 is my backup, but I used it at a theater gig rehearsal with my 6’er and it sounded great. No bad choice, just depends on how much flexibility you want/need.

I would like to know your thoughts on this amp after three years of using one.

Well, I still own it and it remains my main amp. That’s saying something as I cycled through a dozen plus amps over the last number of years. Great amp, I can’t find any reason to swap out of it. I still have a D800 as backup as well.
