+Diana Victoria Aljadeff Seriously, since a few years Meryl gets nominated only for being Meryl Streep. Another actress in "Music of the heart", "One true thing", "Doubt" or "Into the woods", would NEVER have been nominated, even if this actress gave a performance in exactly that quality. But still, Meryl deserved at least a few of these nominations ..

She is simply the greatest actress in film history. Like Colin Firth said: she is unreasonably good.

I got so emotional when she won, because i knew, it wasn't just a shot in the dark, this woman earn't it.Worked hard for it. Deserved it. She has ever so carefully thrown away the typical Hollywood facade and faces us with real raw talent film after film. She takes you to the lowest ebbs and then comes alive and drags you around the emotional climbs with her. she is true talent etched with realism and a lot of class all thrown in together. There will be none other like her so all lets treasure while she is here. Thank God for Meryl Streep.

Same. I was 16 also when I first saw a movie of miss meryl. And I was like, "I'm starting to be a fan of her." I love her so much. 😍😍😍 One more thing is that her attitude reminds me some persons which is close to my heart. 😘😘😘😍 And by the way. I am 21 running 22 this year. Watching Meryl's dedication and talent inspires me so much! And I'm not even an actress or even remotely close. That's how good she is!!

She is so good and she put her heart in every character.

Meryl Streep is down to earth and just amazing! So happy she won her third Oscar!!

I am astonished that Meryl Streep won only 3 times for 19 nominations while all the fuss goes to Leonardo DiCaprio who won 1 out of only 6.

Meryl Streep is simply an extraordinary actress. She is an inspiration to me every day, and she is an inspiration to many people every day. She brought joy into my life and she will be honored forever. She was absolutely fantastic in every role she played in!

if they make a biopic of Bette Davis, they would probably focus on her career in her younger years, and thus cast someone around 30. Meryl could play an older version of her, tho, a la Gloria Stuart in Titanic.

Thanks so much I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to review the genius of Meryl Streep. I have some movies to catch up on. So 17 nominations. Got that. Also clocked her incredible ability to morph into any character she wishes. She sure is a God gift to human kindness.

She is so wonderful. Meryl is like good wine. By getting older, she gets better! I love her!!! She is flawless!!!

I don't know how she mentally fits ' Sophie ' into the story of her career , but wow ! - and that level of making you love whoever she's playing , or at least have amazing sympathy for that character , carries throughout everything she does !

I've read that she never watched Sophie's Choice. The choice moment took one take and she never wanted to do it again as it was so exhausting mentally. This went on for years until the Oprah Show kinda forced her to watch the choice moment. Meryl felt uneasy but was gracious about it. To date, that was the only scene she watched from the whole movie.

Bill Ferr Although I admire/respect/adore Meryl Streep, I felt that Glenn Close should’ve won. She was extraordinary in Albert Knobbs. Meryl deserves most of her awards, but Iron Lady was far from her best performance. Michelle Williams was also damn good. Why did everyone think Viola was going to win? Flat performance in a crappy movie. She was far better in other films and tv.

My daughter and I love her to bits, she is one very lucky woman who has perfected the craft she was meant to dominate. She wanted to be an Opera Singer, I know the feeling and the drive Opera takes too. Hollywood still has got nothing on a Soprano! I can't wait to see her win her next one. seems odd. Glenn has had a remarkable career in her own right. When Glenn was up for Best Actress in Fatal Attraction, Cher won the Oscar instead - beating both Glenn and Meryl. The next year, it was Jodie Foster who took home the gold, competing against Glenn (for Dangerous Liasons).

I cannot watch some of her glorious movies more than once, because they tear my heart out, they make me grapple with things too emotional too touch too often. And yet...I wait...knowing that whatever role she plays, I will sit, all of my attention on her every movement, every nuance, every glance, word, and expression. I will know her character in a mere moment, a nanosecond. She will show me everything I need to know. Her fabulous face will glorify the screen and I will be taken away to another place and time.
