This looks better than the normal EQS. Mercedes really should do something with the front of the EQS. It might be a small change which can help. Like here the stripes. It helps the look a lot. The original EQS does not really have a face. Feels faceless, blunt.

  • @obidean3964

Unpopular opinion: I actually prefer the face of regular version. I know they're trying to imitate that Panamericana look on other ICE AMG but tbh that stripes looks a bit tacky and plasticky. I think the real controversy of EQS design is more to do with its profile. It looks like blob or bubble from side. Front and back looks alright actually, at least to my eyes ...

True... It's efficient aerodynamics. Something which they normally dont care for with their fat fronts in the US and also europe in the last few years with the SUV madness. Choose one - range or fat car looks. Both at the same time will be only possible with bigger batteries which are a bit counterproductive when you want to cause less environmental damage.

Another awesome review!! It is best to think of charging as "range added per time" and not a percentage but 10%-80% in 30 minutes is a little under what the Ioniq 5, E-Tron GT, and Model 3/Y can do (25 min or so). Can't wait to see if it's is efficient at highway speeds! Hopefully, that shape has a reason (highway efficiency).

I love to look around my car and examine how it is built. I hope that no other EV manufacturers copy this sealed front hood design. It really looks cool how the hood meets the wheel well, but I don't like their solution.

Capacitative buttons not for cost cutting? Does anyone believe them? Instead of asking if it’s “cost cutting” ask them if it’s cheaper to make a single part vs several assembled parts. The fact that it costs less and has worst functionality is just coincidental? I understand electric cars initially need some cost cutting, but they shouldn’t lie about it, it makes it seem like they think we’re stupid.

Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oISTpdiFnMSsnKw.html In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which body part you would murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse? The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. If you are interested in how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pp-epaOmoZTFaKg.html Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally. For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. Not using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

The constant anti-leather rants are getting a bit annoying. As long as we have people who eat meat, we might as well use the rest of the cow to make comfy car seats. And as long as nobody invents a cure for electrostatic charge and sweating, I'll go for leather every time. Especially, if the alternative is plastic fibres instead of cotton or bamboo etc..

As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oISTpdiFnMSsnKw.html In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. AMG here does not mean anything anymore, they should have use a new name for their sporty vehicles. AMG is absolutely not a company specializing in electric motors. When I see the AMG marks everywhere and also on the head cushions, I must laugh haha

Hardly any brain cells were burnt designing this car. It’s just lazy. They should have just put batteries in a w222 and call it a day.

Design just isn't it . Significantly compromising on looks for the sake of range, while (I guess) more or less fitting for a regular EQS, simply doesn't suit a sports sedan. Not sure why someone would buy this over a Taycan or Lucid Air.
