You mean never seeing a poor maintenance. I bet owner spent lots and lots of money to keep this car on the road in this condition. I saw a lot of these "on their knees".

@@ShitHappensRLY nah! its not as people think of it , only known issue in these cars is the air suspension . aside from that regular maintenance thats all

@@ShitHappensRLY I have a 1999 w202 and at 300,000 km the clutch, springs and shock absorbers have been changed; since then only oil and filters; the car today has 414,000km and although it has never been in the garage it has a nice paint and no creaks from the dashboard, so I confirm what I have already said, BENZ NEVER GET OLD😎

Timeless interior, classy wood trim and leather; not the overused led stripes we see nowadays.

That diesel engine humming at idle is pure music ❤️

if you listen to the idle of this engine with a home cinema system, it literally sounds like a locomotive. so beefy and manly. diesel over 3l and with at least 6cyl hit so different. damn

Love it. I have 2008 Mercedes S550, W221, 5.5L V8 with 382HP. Only 145 000 miles (232 000 km). Beautiful quiet and fast car. Still makes about 25 mpg on interstate. Hardly ever driven above 3000 rpm, no need for it.

This is why I love diesel cars! Most people says that they are noisy, lazy, rattly and all. But, real car lovers know how good they are. No drama; just straight up low end performance, torque and silence at speed!

That is sick for a car with half million km on its legs

Egal ob A8/ 7ner/S-Klasse Die sind alle extrem gut, wobei ich die S-Klasse und den A8 dem 7‘ner vorziehen würde. Die Dieselmotoren(V8) bei allen Herstellern ein Traum. Man darf mal nicht vergessen, das die Kisten deutlich über 2t Leergewicht mit sich bringen, und so nach vorne gehen. Mit Serienleistung fahren die entspannt ihre 270/280 wenn der Limiter nicht wäre. Und, der Verbrauch ist ebenfalls akzeptabel. Fahre einen A8 4.2tdi und den bewegt man auch mit 6,5-7l. Ist die 350ps Version. Läuft ~280. Das geile ist halt, du sitzt halt bei 250 in dem Auto drin, wie wenn du mit nem Golf eine 110 fährst. Total entspannt. Und wie gesagt man sieht‘s ja hier auch deutlich im Video, die 260 machen die Kisten so spielend leicht voll, und der geht ohne Begrenzer noch schneller. Einfach Top Autos.

Amazing car, amazing video, amazing driver. Its old mercedes but still working excelent - wow. When you drive - fahren 230 - 260 kph and car is not loud, no wind inside - how many times 2,3months old car and not gut qualite and old mercedes - drei - mler benz still amazing car and after 400 tousend kilometre.

Every rear wheel drive based platform from Mercedes has great high speed stability (fwd ones not so much...) even better than BMW and that's a lot saying, although BMW are usually better at low-mid speed corners. Audi has never been quite up there to my taste really, probably bc they're fwd based platforms and they always have more of an understeer feel to them

@@legioner9 If I had to go for a long cruise I'd rather drive a mercedes sedan... don't get me wrong they're both great brands, but they target different drive styles. Get an E/S clas, big fat V8 with airmatic and you almost feel like you're flying. But if I had to drive up a twisty mountain road I'd rather have a rwd bwm with a stick shift 🤷🏻‍♂️

Der Schlitten läuft gut. Ich habe mal erlebt, dass ein Autofahrer mit mindestens 180km/h von der linken auf die rechte spur gewechselt hat, dadurch kam ein vorausfahrender Fahrer auf die Idee, zum überholen auf die linke Spur zu fahren, so dass der erstgenannte auf der linken Spur stark bis auf 120km/h abbremsen musste

Unheard?? I sold my W210 with 405.000, my w203 has actually 400.000, sold my w124 with 560.000 and a friend of mine have a w203 kompressor with 900.000

I used to get a taxi to work over here in the UK about 5 years ago and sometimes they sent an E class, nothing sporty, a 220cdi possibly, anyway it had done 700,000 MILES on the original engine and gearbox. Mercs last forever. The old w124s, I read, often ended up in South Africa where 3m km wasn't unusual.

Am I correct in thinking the annual test for the vehicle is extremely tough in comparison to the uk? Id never dream of driving a 15yr old uk registered S of this age at these speeds.

The UK MOT test is still strict. It inspects the: - tyres, wheels & TPMS; - brakes; - engine mountings; - exhaust system, that it's secure, complete, without leaks, not blowing, and that all catalysts are present; - exhaust emissions, if you have a diesel the MOT tester will refuse to test if they think a smoke test will damage your engine; - lights; - dashboard warning lights, especially: airbags, seatbelt reminders, ABS, ESC (if fitted), PAS, handbrake, and brake fluid warning; - electrical wiring (visible at time of MOT) & battery; - fuel system; - steering & suspension; - body and vehicle structure, that it free from excessive corrosion or damage and there are no sharp edges; - doors; - bonnet; - bootlid / tailgate; - mirrors; - windscreens; - wipers & windscreen washers; - horn; - towbar (if fitted) / electrics (if fitted); - registration plates; - seats, and - seatbelts & SRS. If a 2007 S Class has passed its MOT then it will be safe to drive all the way to 260 km/h / 161 mph.
