    part of it was the media's hyperfixation on "abuse excuse" and portraying the boys as greedy, cold-blooded murderers but I agree, Erik and Lyle were clear, articulate, and described an awful childhood of sexual abuse. Barbara sat, the words went in one ear and out the other, and she continued to spew out shit without ever thinking they might be human too

    “Unless you’ve been molested you can’t realize how hard it is to tell” man, that’s the truest line I’ve ever heard. Breaks my heart in tiny pieces. I wish all abuse victims can have justice.

  • @JohannaFCif

    @JohannaFCif

    But they don't get the justice they deserved, because people who have not gone through something like that think is so easy to just make the decision to leave and walk away from something like this, but it's not. Especially if it's something that has been going through so many years, you are so afraid and embarrassed that you don't say anything, and when you do say it something like this happens and nobody believes you. So it makes us scared to say something and you prefer to keep quiet than be ridiculed for saying something like they did to this guys. And that is more sick and worst than the abusers, that is why so many abusers get away with things because of this happening.

    How do you know they were abused? I mean that’s what they said but there was no evidence of it. Even if they were why did they not report it? They used a shotgun to shot at their parents point blank more than 10 times they were not molested? They said that because they thought it would be an excuse to spare them life in prison

    Yes well being intimidated into silence is part of the abuse they are isolated and threatened like an domestic abuse victims. They know reporting the abuse will infuriate their attacker it's living in a prison without bars and society is so accepting of it they now live in a prison with actual bars for having attempted to escape their parents. Their Dad was a Entertainment Executive so like Weinstein high on the social ladder hierarchy and people think they are entitled to be abusive that they "own" their children spouses etc. and are given freedom to do as they wish legal or not. The boys have succeeded in destroying their Fathers legacy as a great man too that's probably looked at as a crime too they are supposed to "honour" their parents according to the ten Commandments. I guarantee some people think that way as crazy as that sounds.

  • @annalisavajda252

    @annalisavajda252

    Yeah because then you get degraded again for telling so further injustice insult to injury. It's not as if people didn't already know too but if police and courts don't help them reporting abuse just makes the situation worse then they get abused by the system too. Fight or flight those two were in and Eric was not allowed to leave the parents expected to just control them even as adults.

    I was emotionally, physically and sexually abused by my biological father since I was 2 years old until I was 14. To all these people that are judging these men. When I was a teenager, I often thought about murdering my father. In my mind, I recreated all the ways of killing him, but I didn't have a chance to have a weapon. I honestly confess when I was being raped every day by my biological father, I would have killed him. My only opportunity was to muster up some courage, run away and tell the police. It takes a great amount of bravery to come forward and tell our stories to be revictimize by a society that is still reluctant to accept that children can be sexually abused by parents and family members. In fact, 90% of children are sexually abused by people they love and trust. Killing their parents was not right and the sexual abuse they suffered was disgusting and wrong but they didn’t deserve a lifetime sentence. My heart breaks for these two men. My father molested me too, from age 9-17. He went to prison 1yr. But often thought about killing my mother because she allowed it after I told her from the first day. When I was a child, my vagina (inside) was burned with hot spoons and I was tortured daily. I was a defenseless little girl and I couldn't tell anybody because he was threatening to kill my mother and the entire family. I had to suffer in silence in order to protect my family from being killed. I am not condoning these two men or violence, but they don’t deserve a lifetime in prison. I am not condoning these two men or violence, but they don’t deserve a lifetime in prison. Being physically abused or sexually abused by the people whom you love and trust is soul murder for the child/survivor. It’s not easy to find our way back from this trauma but we can find acceptance of the things that we didn't have control and move forward to be better people in this world. For all the people who are judging these men. What are you doing to make a difference and protect children from being abused? I have devoted my life to this cause and I will continue to be the voice for children and the voiceless. Cecibel Alexandra Hull Survivor/ Advocate/ Founder It was ME Campaign

    She was very true at many points in this interview. 1. Why they kill their mother too? Its they're father who being abusive. Their mom mistake is just not being helpful but she didn't threat their life. 2. Why they dont choose to walk away from home and ask for police protection instead of pulling a gun and at circumstances where their father did not attacking them. 3. Many people survive home abuse without have to kill their parents. 4. They seem to be very jntelligent, smart and rational on handling awkward questions in this interview. But how could they not being able to make rational and wise decision to save themselves from their father without killing. Yall just being fool by their perfect look, contagious smile, seducive voice and sexy move. In fact yall just being horny.

    Last Thing Ermmm okay so 1. your sentence structure really confused me so I stopped reading your questions. I don’t think it’s my job to correct your sentences. 2. I’m confused as to when the comment section became an interview process. 3. Everyone has a right to their own opinion; you clearly think they should be in jail so kudos to you, some people don’t which is completely fine. 4. I feel like the interviewer conducted herself very poorly and she was clearly on attack mode. 5. I’m not a “fool” or “horny” just because we have different opinions. I’ve watched and read so many articles. I don’t agree with them killing their parents but I’m open minded and I can see why it led up to it. You seemed to be very descriptive with your last point which makes me think that’s your opinion of them👀. But like I said, everyone is entitled to their own thoughts👍🏾.

You have to keep in mind their father was a millionaire and had incredible power over them. Their father threatened them if they were ever to tell anybody he would kill them. You also have to keep in mind they were so traumatized from all this trauma that Erik had the mentality of a 12 year old. They also didn't wait years after they were being molested because they kept being molested or at least Erik kept getting raped. Their father already had their entire life planned out for them so he could still abuse them and he had the power too because he was a millionaire. Yes killing is wrong but they killed their rapist and abusers.

    This was a pretty common interviewing style in the 90s; journalists saw themselves as an impersonal "the voice of the people" (remember this is before social media), so some saw it as their duty to ask the "hard questions" that they thought the lowest common denominator "man in the street" was thinking. Really it was all for ratings.

    I honestly cannot stand Walter's. She's probably the most uncouth "journalist" I've ever witnessed. She lets her preconceived opinions overshadow her journalistic approach and integrity. Treats the ppl she interviews like stats, not humans. I don't understand the draw toward her. She has such seemingly unprecedented access to so many fascinating ppl, and yet, she typically drops the ball. It's astounding that she's been in the forefront of televised journalism for decades. And just now, reading the other commentators, I feel less wrong lol. It isn't just me. 🙏😂
