@@aydenthrilkill2151 You see...they murdered their abusers, who sexually harassed them, tortured them who in name are called "parents". That was an act of self defence. They were in a situation to either kill or be killed. And moreover they weren't mature enough to think about consequences.they didn't have a childhood and the court took away their adulthood as well. This case was pure injustice.

They have both served 22 years, I think they should be let free now, especially considering the fact they were sexually abused by a big scary guy who probably intimidated them into silent compliance. I don't think they are a danger to society, for fucks sake let them go, they have suffered big time and lost their prime years rotting in jail, what is the purpose of keeping them in there? I think they deserve at least another trial where the details of their sexual abuse can be shown unlike the second trial they had where the judge ruled the information out for some reason, resulting in them receiving life jail sentences, its just so sad in all aspects, let them live the second part of their lives free, they have paid the price already.

Not letting them serve in the same prison was just cruel and a double sentence. They payed for what they did let them out. I thought jail was about rehabilitation so why keep these kids locked up. They now realize they had other options back then they were two scared kids who had been betrayed by the very people who are suppose to look after you. Please let them live some of their life free. They are not killers but victims.

carrollyn aragon I know it's hard to believe parents abuse their kids , but it happens. Unless you have walked a mile in their shoes , you can't know the pain or betrayal, the fear of not knowing when they will go too far and that will be the end. Something that you pray for sometimes, but something you are also terrible afraid of. They tell you , if you tell that's the end , no more house , no more food and if mommy and daddy goes to jail it's your fault. A terrible burden for a child to carry. You are so brainwashed that you think everything is your fault. You don't see options. Some people get a miracle and someone saves them , others are not so lucky. These two boys should be freed , they have paid enough for taking human lives , they endured years apart from each other , I don't think people realize they were each other's life line. That was the cruelest punishment of all.

carrollyn aragon, that doesn't make a good parent. Giving kids money and gifts doesn't make up for unconditional love. My parents gave me the bare necessities but abused me. Should I be grateful for the mistreatment I received just because they gave me a roof over my head? There were times when I didn't want to go home. Children are entitled to the right of being cared for, and that goes beyond food and clothing. A child doesn't ask to be born, and being a parent is a privilege, not a right.

@@lights473 that's bullshit. while i'm not saying that murdering someone is okay, their dad molested and raped them for years. do you have any idea what kind of impact that has on the brain of a young child? they didn't know what to do. their father said that if they told anyone, those bad things would happen. while that doesn't justify what they did, it does explain why they did it. and then after going through the trauma of being raped by their father, they got sentenced to their whole lives in prison. after being the only thing each other had while they were being abused, they were separated from each other. so to recap, they got raped and abused by their father for years, they were sentenced to their entire lives in prison, and on top of that, they weren't even in the same prison. i think that's enough trauma for them to deserve at least an ounce of happiness.

I'm glad they're together. I remember reading or perhaps seeing on TV, about a man who was a dinner guest at the Menendez's home when these 2 were kids. One of them said something which the father didn't like. Jose Menendez, the father, got angry and told him he would see him later. The guest wrote or said he's been shocked by the horrible panic these simple words caused on the kid. It was something that has stayed with me. Jose Menendez, as a rich Cuban-American, was well capable of violence towards his children. Of course, there's no excuse for killing someone except in self-defense, especially their mum. Some argue it was a fight or flight response from very confused kids. I think by now they have served their time and it's good to see them back

I have no idea why one of them was so terrified as a boy. And no, I do not think rich Cuban-Americans are disposed to violence. I would apologize for giving this wrong impression except that you're putting words into my mouth. Where did I write that rich Cuban-Americans are basically animals? I still think in general much wealth can turn some parents, men in particular, into despots. History books have gruesome examples of kings who abused their sons. Of course, in the homes of the poor domestic violence from parents to children is also a problem. But the reasons are different & usually the result of poverty, unemployment & alcohol

Depends on the case and whether she also killed her mother. Also I don't know that most people believed their story of abuse. The prosecution showed there behavior after their deaths as a sign that these are not boys who have finally escaped being abused and are just spoiled brats who now are going to have access to their parents wealth. Most of the public said they made up the abuse story.

TRANSLATE: Had I known I would have gotten caught or even if I did ...lost the trial and am were I am now.......I would have gone to the cops and taken my chances. The prosecution said they did it for money. But that's kind of hard to believe. They already had money and from what I read were spoiled rotten. They claim molestation. Now...that's a tough one to crack. I know from experience that molestation feels like something that ...feels good...but at the same time seems SOOO WRONG. As a child it very hard to interpret. It's almost like you know something is not right about what you're doing but it feels okay and you feel loved so it doesn't seem wrong.... but in 4th grade watching a show that teacher put on about being molested I got quiet and put my head down because I said to myself that's what's happening to me I guess it is wrong. Anyway.... if the Melendez Brothers are lying then that's an extremely intelligent maneuver because believe me the first thing you go to as a kid isn't molestation.... and if they're telling the truth then they should have went about it a different way because if they did have money in mind they most certainly would have been taken care of monetarily.

I know that this was a while ago, but I’m so happy that they got to be reunited! This goes to show that karma was in their favor. If they were truly evil, like a lot of people like to judge about them, then something this special wouldn’t have happened. I’m not saying they should’ve killed their parents by any means, however I’m not their judge and maker. I wasn’t there to know what they went through, but in my opinion, I believe what they say about the abuse that they went through. I HATE pedophiles and I also know and have seen pedophiles get less time than someone who was caught with drug paraphernalia. In my opinion, our judicial system needs a complete redo. These guys did what they thought at the time was the only option they had. I’m overjoyed for the both of them to be able to not only see one another again, but to be able to have each other there on a daily basis. Good for them! God bless.

Disgusting parents. The dad was sick but the mother was worse, she was the one who should have protected her sons above all else. When children are sexually abused, there will have been been years of being told to keep quite and there is a lot of shame, anger and guilt. Imagine learning that your mum knew all along and did nothing to protect. It seems on the day that the younger brother found out that his mother had always known, he decided his dad would never touch him again. I'm no expert but it seems mums often turn against their own kids, caught up in all sorts of emotions including regret and jealousy. These boys have served their time and should be released.
