Thank-you for posting. I love this event, and hate the fact that it gets so little attention in America just because their are not American contenders.

Three white lights reversed by a jury for a very small elbow movement that could have been a tremble. Lost complete respect for weightlifting judges.

Salimi deserved Silver, but not gold at this moment, Talakhadze was better, Salimi recognized and shake hands to Talakhadze, (great sportsmenship) Respect from Georgia

I've seen way worse lifts than Salimi's pass. Three white lights and having it taken away. This sucks.

i am not a weightlifter so i'm trying to make sence of why a 3 white light lift would even go to a jury !

So am I. Ridiculous. Two whites or two reds perhaps. Not three whites. Corruption or pure incompetence.

What a great event, especially in the snatch. Sucks that Salimi had three whites taken, and on such a dumb rule like the press out, no less. It should be a rule that a unanimous call - three whites or three reds - is safe from any jury intervention. Mart Seim's second attempt shouldn't have been taken imo, either.

Judging was terrible. The pressout rule makes no sense on the jerk. they want the jerk to look pretty instead of showing shoulder strength.

The judges, or either the jury, don't decide the rules. Their job ist just to evaluate the lifts according to the existing rules and that's just what they did when they rejected Salimi's lifts.

I don't think the jerk is suppose to show shoulder strength. The clean and jerk shows total body movement and power. The jerk is more of an absoulute position that needs to be achieved to make judging fair. Just because there might be differences in opinion of judgement as to that position, the rules shouldn't change. As long as you have judges you're always gonna have these differences. Just my opinion, have a nice day.

What is happening here ??...Salimi (IRI) peaked out at 216 (WR) superb snatch...but is 20 kg. below normal in the C@J....VERY STRANGE !!!

I'm not sure that he ever fully extends. I think as he turns during his recovery it hides the bend in the elbow. Do the judges have video replay?

Not seeing the infraction by salmi on 1st (1:15:20) or 2nd attempt (1:17:43), in fact the 1st attempt looks better and they gave him three white lights on the 2nd; very sloppy judging in the snatch especially, much pressing out especially by Armenian; the sad part of this blatant politics (called out by a Iraqi judge after the 3 whites) is that Lasha had an awesome performance but it will always be mired in controversy, we will not know the true outcome of a real fair event because it didn't happen. Sure hope these medalists will not get busted for PEDs, because if they do, more controversy will happen..thank goodness I didn't go into Olympic Weightlifting, it's just as fixed as American Politics.

If lovchev wasnt caught by the ban, then salimi wouldve have won a silver. this was a guaranteed gold for salimi. salimi has c&j 255kg in 2014. However, the childish behavior of iranians booing other athletes reflects really poorly on their country.

Gold?!! Even if they gave him the 243kg lift theres no way he wouldve lifted 258kg which he wouldve had to do because of his higher bodyweight...sorry mate hes not the best anymore.

Lochev was banned because he tested positive in Houston's world championships/ which makes no sense because almost 99% of elite lifters are also on juice.

This is a bad lift for the Iranian. This is obviously a press out. The problem is, the judges should have gave him red lights to begin with. This is unfortunate because it really messed with his head thinking he had a good lift only for it to be repealed by the jury.

Есть такое понятие … тяжелая ТЯЖЕЛАЯ атлетика!!! В ней главное поднять на выпрямленные руки и зафиксировать вес! Тут не до грации и красоты … напряжения запредельны!!! Что за правила ввели ???? Вы де сами в прошлом штангисты … что же вы сделали с тяжелой атлетикой оценивая ее по какой то … издевательской технике??? Одному можно засчитать, а другому так же поднявшему … нет! Все стало непонятно и пропало главное … поднятый над головой вес! Вес поднятый в борьбе, а не красиво!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

salimi lost only silver medal,, he has no posible to defeat talakhadze in clean&jack .. salimi has good tachniqe but not enough power against talakhadze,, he will lose every competition if there been talakhadze.. we will see.. and one more,, in clean &jack salimi everytime lost 1 try of 3 ,,

If he competes again. Why would he want to. Certainly not with these judges.
