Men's and Women's 4x400m Relay Finals | World Athletics Championships Doha 2019

Спорт

Welcome to the World Athletics Watch Party, join the conversation on Twitter with our hashtag #WatchWorldAthletics.
Returning to their vintage best, the USA regained the men’s 4x400m world title with the fastest time for 11 years with a typically dominant performance.
Having surprisingly forfeited the title to Trinidad & Tobago two years ago in London their team of Fred Kerley, Michael Cherry, Wil London and Rai Benjamin stormed around four laps of the Khalifia International Stadium in a world-leading time of 2:56.69.
In the women's race, living to their favourite’s billing, the US squad dominated the women's 4x400m, blitzing the field with a 3:18.92 world-leading performance.
Poland, anchored by European champion Justyna Swiety-Ersetic, took silver in 3:21.89, a national record for the quartet.

It is worth mentioning that in London Justyna Święty (the Polish anchor) ran with an unhealed injury. She twisted her ankle in the countdown to the World Championships. That's why Justyna's performance was far from perfect. If she had been healthy Poland would most likely have finished in second place.

Te other countries have to realize that when you make the kind of move the Jamaican made on the third leg, it's like Oto Boldon said to Sanya Richards-Ross during the American version of these games, "you know Sanya when you make a move like that, you HAVE to have something in the tank in the last 100 meters." The Jamaican's , nor anyone else, just cannot run with the USA.

Dalilah ran pretty fast and killed the race for USA whilst Jonathas ran a victory lap and brought the quartet home. What a fantastic finish by the polish and Jamaican teams for the silver and bronze medals respectively. US remains the dominant powerhouse for the women's 4×400m race in the world.
