I have only just learned of this sinister case and am now here after listening to what is happening in court , two years on. The sheer wickedness of Lori and Chad's murderous plan in the guise of religion is truly sickening and evil. Seeing Kay and Larry sitting behind that creep Chad, totally dumbstruck hearing that awful recording, broke my heart. They were right all along, knowing that the children were in danger, especially little JJ. How they restrained themselves in not leaping across the seats and throttling him, is beyond me! For the record, Melanie was definitely next on their hit list. I only wish she had gone to the police sooner. Our gut feeling is never wrong. I hope with all my heart that all those murdered by this twisted pair get justice.

I can't quite put my finger on the look Chad gives Melanie as she comes off the stand. It isn't disdain. It isn't contempt. It isn't hatred. It isn't anger. It looks like FEAR. He KNOWS he is screwed. I don't think the Woodcocks had heard this phone call prior to it being revealed in court. The expressions on their faces, the amazement listening to the phone call and the horror, the understanding that the man sitting in front of him was involved in killing their grandson. I would NOT have the self-control they exhibit. I would have jumped over that railing and smacked him into next month. I would have gone to jail for contempt for a few days but it would have been worth it. Unbelievable.

Very astute observation. You are right. At his core, Chad is a coward. And a bully. Suddenly, this mild mannered petite woman has immense power over him. He failed at his manipulation and persuasion with her. A woman of real moral character who recorded him and went to police with the evidence. It is fear. I feel so sad for the Woodcocks. This was Kay's little grandson and she raised him as a baby. She thought JJ was in good hands with Charles Vallow, who was a good man, solid guy, such a good father for both kids. Then this evil triad, decimates Charles, JJ, Tylee, Tammy... a trail of death. Such a huge waste of good lives. I don't know how Larry sits there behind Chad and holds back.

This witness held her own and outshone him almost entirely throughout this long cross examination. The witness freely admitted that she had told the police a lie, had been used by her girlfriend, was very troubled by it and quickly corrected it by contacting the police. Any jury would believe all she said, a credible witness for the crown.

During the interview, they asked Melanie when was the last time she saw JJ and she said that it was late in the evening when she, Lori, Chad, and David were doing a podcast at Lori's home. JJ supposedly has been with Alex and he came in carrying JJ supposedly asleep. Melanie did not see JJ the next morning even though she stayed the night at Lori's house. Instead Lori said that she called Alex to come get JJ because he was climbing all over the cabinets and refrigerator. For one thing, wouldn't Melanie hear this ruckus if he was getting into so much that morning? I believe that when Melanie saw Alex carrying in a "sleeping" JJ that he was probably already dead and that they were waiting for Melanie to leave before they buried the body. They may have even planned for this to happen that way so Melanie would see JJ and think at that point he was okay. That would also help Chad, Lori, and Alex's timeline and alibi. What also bothers me is that neither Chad nor Lori have shown one ounce of grief that these children were found dead and especially the manner in which they were found.

It takes a psychotic criminal defense attorney like Prior to defend an equally depraved criminal like the toady Chad. Lori the Black Widow left a trail of dead bodies from Chandler/Gilbert Arizona to Freemont/Madison county Rexburg , Idaho to keep a task force of LEO's busy for the next 3 years. Just glad the judge kept the bond at million, Lori is a very dangerous POS that would without a doubt eliminated more people if she wasn't incarcerated. I'm fairly sure Gibbs knows how close she came to being dead, if they hadn't slapped the cuffs on the black widow. Eventually the toad is going to fold and spill all the beans once other serious charges are added to his current list. Idk, it just seems like she (Lori)may have done something along the same line before, she's a hell of a master manipulator.

Ms. Gibb can remember Chad's phone number as well as certain details with conversations yet, she can't remember Lori's address, a home she often. I always felt that Melanie never been 100 percent truthful. This woman was close to Chad & Lori as well as brought people to there congregation meetings! I'm not buying the sweet innocent Melanie. Melanie felt she was next ( because of her knowledge) trust she sleeps well at nights knowing she won't be in prison with those two.

I truly think Melanie Gibb literally dodged a bullet. I think she absolutely would have been the next on Lori & Chad's hit list. Melanie would then have been rated as "dark" based on that phone conversation & likely would've ended up dead. It was smart of her to make that recording. The tone of that call shifts real quick from Lori seeing Melanie as a confidante to thinking she's an accuser in cahoots with the police & I think it would have been the end of the line for Melanie in Lori's eyes. I'm sure Lori at that point would've said Melanie had been taken over by zombies

Both Melanie’s are liars. IMO they both knew everything and should have been charged as such. LE definitely dropped the ball in so many instances throughout this case. Just my opinion.
