    I listened to an interview with one of Lori's cousins that she spend a lot of time growing up. She told stories about Lori that were not complimentary including her making her cousin go out on a double date. There were in Lori's dates car and the guy purposely ran over a cat that was trying to cross the street. She said Lori started laughing like it was funny. Now, that may seem a small thing, but anyone who would thinks it's funny to run over and kill a cat, has a cruel streak. I think Lori comes off as sweet but it's a facade. I think she is a borderline, narcissistic mix who is capable and willing to take out anyone who gets in the way of what she wants. So I completely believe Audrey's testimony.

    I heard that cousin's interview, too. From the stories she told, Lori has always been very manipulative and narcissistic. The cousin went out on one date and Lori called her mom to have the cousin removed from the apartment for being a bad influence on Lori eventhough Lori was the one out partying and sleeping around and then the cousin was getting married and asked Lori and other bridesmaids to wear a purple dress. Lori didn't want to wear purple, so she decided everyone would wear blue instead. All the decorations were purple. It was weird. I would be so pissed.

I think and always will that she knew what was going to happen to the kids and went along with it until she thought she was right in the middle then she called the police to save her own ass!! she was so far up Lori’s @ss and Tylee was old enough to know Melanie was a weirdo like Chad and Tylee didn’t like them! i wouldn’t either if they were talking that crazy crap! Melanie Gibb never said they were awesome kids and didn’t deserve that, or if she knew what Lori was thinking of doing she would have offered to keep the kids or even call Larry and Kay and tell them they needed to come get the kids bc Lori is wanting them out of her life!! Melanie Gibb was Lori’s confident and bestie! she knew what was happening!

    I agree. He made some headway here by pointing out Audrey’s presumed lack of credibility, but I know how people get sucked into cults because I have studied the topic extensively and also have some personal experience in cult-like fundamental churches. Just because Audrey never contacted authorities doesn’t change the fact that everything she said was true. It may not have seemed especially significant until after all the facts became known. The LDS have some really peculiar beliefs anyway. They believe they are populating other planets, they believe these time ideas they call dispensations, they believe they had entirely different lives in these dispensations almost to the point of believing in reincarnation, they believe in dreams and visions as gospel truth, they believe they actually are visited by God or angels and have or have had personal and physical relationships with them, and they believe in two books in addition to the holy Bible that they elevate to the same status yet these two other books contradict the holy Bible and have not been accepted by religious scholars throughout time as inspired by God. What Chad and Lori were adding was not a big leap from LDS doctrine, but actually more of the same. If this Audrey grew up LDS, it was hardly much different to give her allegiance to Chad and Lori than it was to give it to the current LDS “prophet,” because this is mainly an extension of current belief. They are always looking for their next prophet, whereas most non-LDS believe then need for prophets ended when we were given the Bible.

  • @stephvlittle

    @stephvlittle

    Жыл бұрын

    Glam Gam - there are a couple of the LDS beliefs that you stated that are not correct. Just to clarify, the doctrine of the Church does not teach that they are populating other planets. Or that the people have had multiple lives within different dispensations. “Dispensations” is not a new concept and not unique to the LDS faith. It is even talked about in the Bible and they are simply chunks of time interpreting history that divides God's work and purposes toward mankind into different periods of time. The LDS members believe that they can have a spiritual relationship with God and that He can “speak” to them through the Holy Spirit. Sometimes these spiritual feelings show up in dreams or in other ways, but it is very often simple impressions and feelings. And while the members can have a connection to divinity, it isn’t common for a follower to commune with angels and especially Christ himself. The Book of Mormon is one of the other books you mentioned and the concepts and ideas in that book actually follow the Bible fairly closely. But the 2nd book you mention is the Doctrine and Covenants - that is more of a history of God’s interactions with the Church in the latter days. How the church was “made” and established. The ideas and concepts that Chad Daybell had are very much an affront to LDS members. They do not just give allegiance to any man and think that he is the prophet. The belief is that God speaks to a prophet so it isn’t taken lightly. From what I’ve heard of Daybell’s teachings (I haven’t read his books or studied his ideas), here are some that go against the beliefs of the LDS church: - having multiple lives - zombies that possess the bodies of others - some of his beliefs of the Second Coming - murder (that’s kindof a big one 😉) I am sure there are others but I can’t think of them off the top of my head. I hope this doesn’t come across as argumentative. I just wanted to clarify some of the beliefs of the LDS church. And while there can be some extremists, LDS members are actually very normal people who love Jesus and try to follow His teachings. When people look at the actual doctrine of the church and not stuff that they have heard online or from other people who aren’t members of that church, there are a lot of similarities with other Christian churches.

    Agree with parts of your comments. However having grown up LDS. I know we didn’t believe in living in different probations. There was life in a pre-existence with God. They were gullible, stupid, had boring lives and wanted to feel important. All of them sitting there talking about zombie's and casting spells, Zulema txting saying shes sending out fire and attacking Charles from her living room. Honestly its like listening a group of 8 year old girls playing at a sleep over, "well my dragons bigger than your dragon. I explained the mechanics of this to my 10 year old son the other day and even he said "but zombie's aren't real, why are these people being silly?" If all these people hadnt have been so narcissistic and self self serving, this thing would've have grown its tentacles the way it did and the victims would still be alive. I hope they never get a good nights sleep again, they all have blood on their hands. Sitting up on the stand now declaring "well i didn't really believe in it all" is bull, and it doesn't clear them of any responsibility for this. The moment another whole arse adult starts talking to me about zombies, light and dark scales, giving people different names because they have been taken over by spirits and asking me to join castings to bring harm onto people, im out. Im out and im down to the police station telling them they have another Jones Town on their hands because these people are bat shit crazy

    This is by far the most damning piece of evidence against Lori that I have seen so far in this trial. It is not circumstantial, like the single strand of her hair found on the duct tape used to bind JJ, which could have got there in one of several non-incriminating ways. It is not hearsay. It is direct evidence, which goes to the very heart of the matters at issue in this trial. Audrey, simply for being less than totally compliant with Lori's wishes, is threatened with a violent death resembling closely what had recently happened to Tylee and JJ. It exposes Lori as malevolent and vindictive, and apparently fully capable of carrying out the threats that she makes. From here on, I don't think the jury will buy the pose of her being the innocent wronged party, which she has so far only hinted at. If she has any real evidence of her innocence, she had better reveal it very soon, or it will be too late.

    My whole problem with these testimonials is that they are all adults that have faltered in their lives and made mistake after mistake yet were saved to carry on and save others, yet you have two young children who were considered to be dark spirits that could not be saved. They could not be afforded the time to be guided or taught the error of their ways and turned to the teachings that these professional religious speakers could help with. I guess it would have thrown off the podcast schedule or broken the thought process of the next book to be written. The strongest hub of leaders with such power and devotion could not help those closest to them.

    I don’t understand how any of those beliefs are “believable” at all. We do not know where nor when Jesus will come again. Let alone Missouri. He will be seen from every corner of the world no matter where He returns. I am blown away by all this. Nate thank you for being the 1st to bring us Court room testimony. Much appreciated.

    @@CaseyMarie11-11 I’m sorry, but this comment absolutely took me out! 😂 I know just a small amount about the LDS church, so the Missouri being the scene for Garden of Eden and Christ’s return was definitely not anything I was expecting to hear today. 😆

    Why is this woman so adamant that she’s trusting, a good person with a big heart?? I’ve never seen someone act like that…very weird

    It would not even surprise me if Chad had the grand scheme to create a harem with all those women that were in his inner circle.
