Glass Gallon Jugs that are great for storing your distilled water: amzn.to/2Esx1Q7
Pink Himalayan : amzn.to/2S4L32b
We usually add sole water to our distilled water to remineralize the water. All sole water is is pink Himalayan salt and distilled water. There are tons of videos on how to make it. It has tons of health benifits too. We don't use regular salt anymore, we put pink Himalayan salt on everything!

    Be extreamly carefull with the water and the sink no water must drip down the sides there have been a lot of cases of shorting around the switch as water gets in as it drips down the sides. they should have sealed it but on most models they dont. basicly if you want your disstiller and glass jug to survive they need to be treated with care. another very handy tip is dont wait for the termostat to turn it off instead put it on a timer, they are cheap and realible and will save on the electric, get it to cut out early that way it wont boil down to the bottom and its easyer to clean and less damage on the element. why they dont have this feature on any of the disstilers i have seen and i have seen a lot stumps me.

    I’ve been using one of these for almost a decade now. Tap water here in NYC is filthy. One thing I will say, distilled water doesn’t hydrate you properly. Both my and my dog’s health improved greatly after ionizing the distilled water in a cheap homemade ionizer. Dog had a bunch of rashes, dry skin, etc., that cleared up immediately once we stopped drinking the distilled water straight. The distilled water tastes ‘flat’, no matter even if you remineralize it. The ionized water tastes ‘full’.

The seller adviced me to take off the top lid, put it upside down on the table, and pour inside the little hole through which the vapour goes, a mix of water and citric acid(also vinegar works). The water used in this should be boiling hot. Then I cover the whole thing with a plate(tap), and let it rest for 12 h. That strange taste only partially was removed, though I did it only twice. But the water tastes much better.

    Yes, I’ve tried a few times without the charcoal filter, with same results. I even tried to double up the filter. I have double steamed the water and got it to 2ppm or so. From what I found is that you can start the distilling, after about 45 min. you can dump out what you have distilled, that is the most contaminated. Then you’ll be left with 3/4 gallon of 2-4 ppm then double steam that.. I’ve looked for the perfect distiller for a while and all work very similar.. but then again I bought distilled water forever and it was always 0ppm.

    Can you pour cold water in the hot distiller’s tank?

  • @Galdring
    @Galdring2 жыл бұрын

    It is pretty convenient to let the distiller just run its course. Having to manually turn it off to avoid residue sticking to the tank is a hassle. I wish the distiller turned itself off with some water still in it. I don't know whether a relevant sensor is expensive or they want to make money on cleaning products.

    No minerals but you're also not getting any chemicals leaching into the water from the plastic. I can't say wether the amount that leaches has any effect on the human body but if I can avoid it I will.

    Only thing I can think of is chemical burn off or something like that. Maybe there’s residue from the manufacturer that’s in there and the heating process introduces it to the water? That’s the only thing I can think of but after a 5-8 gallons it taste really good.

    I'm currently building a survival water distiller that will fit in a metal drinking bottle that's capable of allowing you to distil pretty much anything, even your own urine back to clear drinkable water.. Of course, it requires a wood, gas or alcohol fire to start the process..

    What good is this going to do you if we have a power outage? It's also useless in A SHTF SITUATION. i wouldn't think about doing this and spending that kind of time or money doing so, he'll you can buy a gallon of distilled water at the store for a dollar. You can also just use a 3 or more gallon stock pot with a curved and handled glass or metal lid and put wooden or plastic bowl in the pot To catch the distilled steam that drops from the curved lid and handle!!l There are lots of cheap and long time reliable means to get fresh clean water or distilled water.!!
