Meeting The Most Mysterious Tribe In Southeast Asia | The Akha People

After years in Laos we finally got the chance to meet one of the most mysterious tribes in Southeast Asia, the Akha people. They mostly live in the extreme North of Laos hidden in the isolated mountain ranges of Phongsali. They are one of the poorest and least developed ethnic minorities and indigenous tribes in Laos and are difficult to contact because of their separation from the modern world. Luckily with the help from a local guide, we got the chance to spend a day in an Akha village, meeting the people, cooking with them in their home and learning about their way of life.

When you touch it, if it’s not cleaned right, it has thin prickly things on it like the greens they grow from.

Thank you for sharing our AKHA tradition but I'm from MYANMAR by the way. Some of their words are different from ours. For your information we don't dress the same. The hat design is different. The clothing style is different. Anyway thank you for sharing our tradition .

That’s a Hmoob diet right there. Nom nom.. the Lao Lao helps digestion also. Especially because it’s all vegetables. @9:15 she said (sounded to me) in lao/Thai. Not hot not good? Bo pit, bo sap. So lucky that you can see this clan. I can’t wait to go. Hopefully end of this year or next.
