First lesson every human should be taught is self-control. Nature will only do so much for us so we cannot devastate it for the sake of greed. Human ignorance, desperation, and greed are killing all life on this planet, including ourselves.

In Mexico and some other countries in the Americas, the bee is Melipona bee (abeja de monte or mountain bee) that is stingless and small enough to fit into the vanilla orchid flower to pollenate. These bees are not present in places like Africa or Europe. Hand pollination is needed as a result, especially since the flower opens for less than 1 day before it closes and dies -- if not pollinated in those short few hours it's open then no vanilla bean will grow.

“...If the learned and worldly-wise men of this age were to allow mankind to inhale the fragrance of fellowship and love, every understanding heart would apprehend the meaning of true liberty, and discover the secret of undisturbed peace and absolute composure.” [Baha'u'llah (The promised one) - Tablets of Baha'u'llah, p. 162] “Rest thou assured that in this era of the spirit, the Kingdom of Peace will raise up its tabernacle on the summits of the world, and the commandments of the Prince of Peace will so dominate the arteries and nerves of every people as to draw into His sheltering shade all the nations on earth. From springs of love and truth and unity will the true Shepherd give His sheep to drink”. (Abdu'l-Baha, Selections from the Writings of Abdu'l-Baha, p. 246)

Good for them they are making a living. Leave them alone. You should talk about the devastation the United States has done to South America for bananas. What America has down to Hawaii for banana's. Now you get to talk about these people when they finally are able to make money. You might think Madagascar is poor but they are not. Madagascar is beautiful.

The only way to reduce criminal activity is to end current capitalism, a one for all and every man for himself, when everyone prosper, sharing according to each person contribution, this way there’s more fairness and hopefully thru education equal opportunity everyone prospers. This will also help to protect the environment and the lemurs remaining habit areas, but if things continue as is, everyone will suffer the same fate as Hattie, they cut down all their forest and did not protect the environment, and the levers will go extinct except for those in captivity, tragically, very good documentary!!
