Mr JYP keeps getting hate but people forget that he brought a unique KPop style to the scene from SM and YG. It’s also where we get 2pm, Wonder Girls, Got7, Twice, Day6, Stray Kids, Itzy, etc. JYP is not perfect, no one is. He’s correct mostly but also can be wrong about things. People focus on his faults and wrong decisions as if he never made any right ones since he founded the company. I still see Wonder Girls including Sunmi, Jackson and Jamie even Rain that still say good things about him, even collaborating with him but of course their relationship with him is good so they tease him too and he takes it all in good stride.

I mean you got the point- some kpop songs new releases doesn't really sound so 'kpop-ish', they mostly focused more about the mainstream or western type, which made jyp different, every comebacks produced by jyp himself literally sound so unique and catchy which is more kpop sounding like. And what I like in jyp nation is that every groups/artists on it have their own colors and signature which is interesting. Like day6, they're more on rock, twice having more on cute concepts (not to mention their versatility now is), itzy with girl/teen crush concept, stray kids which is more on edm and hiphop, got7 with retro and funk(?)-ish style (they literally changed nowadays tho), and etc....

I'm glad that JYP doesn't feed too much into the "billboard hit" type of sound for his songs. I love kpop for the sounds that are unique to its industry! I think its okay to have some groups that have a more "western" pop sound, because even koreans enjoy that and it can bring new fans into kpop as a whole and maybe they'll love the different styles within. I just hope that the original kpop sounds stick around. I'm a bit wary of new groups nowadays because I worry that their style will change and then I just won't like them as much. A good example of this is LOONA, I feel so nostalgic for their original concept and I really wish they could have stuck with it because I think it was one of the best in kpop ever. I like their new stuff, but not as much as the old stuff and it just doesn't feel the same anymore.

and to elaborate a little more, kpop is still pop music at the end of the day. If it didn't sound similar to any western pop music, then it just wouldn't be considered pop. It has always been influenced by western pop music and always will be since the largest pop industry is in the USA. ITZY might have a more western influence than some other groups, but can you tell me any western pop songs playing on the radio that sound like ITZY title tracks? I was mainly referring to JYP as a producer anyway, since that was sort of the main point of the video. He doesn't produce every song for his groups and he isn't in complete control of all aspects of the groups, they each have their own team. I just appreciate him and producers like him who won't give in and just make a song that sounds like "billboard hot 100", he may be inspired by it but there is still originality and unique quality to his work.

@@shycherrygirl oh plz itzy's wannabe sounds exactly like US pop music of late 2010's which is very much billboard like songs. Making a song for a "billboard hit" is not a bad idea but u saying that jyp doesn't make billboard songs is just false. More than 70% of twice's discography is produced or written by jyp and although twice has the cute concept sound they have now changed it up to more western vibes sound. And even though itzy's wannabe wasn't produced by jyp,it was still produced by a "western producer" aiming for billboard charts. All the kpop groups are now aiming for the billboard charts now since the success of bts and bp . Aiming for a billboard sound is not a bad idea if u do it right

What attracted me to K-pop in the first place was that it didn't sound like western pop. I fell in love with BlackPink's early work, but their newer stuff, aside from "Lovesick Girls", just doesn't really do it for me. I have yet to hear a Twice or Itzy song I haven't enjoyed.

Honestly it's not just JYP who made the song He just revised it because it sounds so noisy and he made the song cleaner and to fit the "ITZY" style. The original demo/draft (When you listen to the original) of the song is very noisy and heavy EDM. The original composer of the song posted the process of making "In The Morning". So basically it's like JYP parts is like 10-20% and the rest was from the LYRE. And ofc the writing the lyrics was from JYP (part of the backlash). You can search it here on YT or maybe I'll edit this and put the link. Edit: hereeee kzread.info/dash/bejne/q32Es5trn7ubZ7A.html

I feel like jyp plans on conquering the other parts of the world too but he will do it in a different way. Like nizi project 1 and 2, targeting the japanese market. He will slowly target specific markets one by one, and not many markets in just one group. But being able to target more than one or two markets by one group will just be a bonus. So he will have groups that are for asia, and others for other continents. That's why we still hear the most "kpop" elements from jype. Just from my perspective though.

A lot of people don't understand the concept of Mafia in the Morning. The song is not about the actual mafia, but the party game Mafia. In this game, the players are divided in two main groups, the mafia and the civilians (among other roles, but lets keep this simple). During nighttime the mafia chooses a civilian to kill, and when it's morning again, the surviving players can try to guess who's the mafia and vote them out of the game. Itzy's song is about that last morning when the last surviving civilian(s) who failed to vote the mafia out, lose the game and finally learn who the the mafia was, and it's usually a very shocking reveal for the players. So that's why the song is called Mafia in the Morning.

The man is undeniably a genius. As a manager/CEO, I can see people's faults with him. Mismanagement of artists (Miss A comes to the forefront of my mind) That's probably why he stepped down, or was "forced to" step down as the main CEO of the company. But, since the company name and him are inextricably tied together, people will still blame HIM for anything. He has to live with that-that's why many people have negative thoughts about him. *BUT,* you cannot deny the man's continuing influence in KPop. He's not afraid to keep making songs that sound different-not making it sound like your any other song. I'm hard pressed to think of an "average" JYP-composed song to be honest. Yet not one of them sounds like the last. I will forever be appreciative of this man who helped mold KPop to what it is. JYP's story is amazing, bar none.

One thing is for sure.... Many idols or companies are obsessed with Hip hop that they are not representing Korean Music as they should. Korean Music is the only thing that made Kpop and now it is not even showing its best.
