I spent my whole childhood growing up with the “bat out of hell 2” album on repeat, playing it to death in my Dads car on the old cassette player as I was only just discovering what real music even was, songs in which I grew to adore & still do 20+ years later, even spending hours & hours writing down the lyrics on a piece of paper as I didn’t have the internet back then - my first genuine hero… & someone i’ll love forever. RIP Meat - you made my whole upbringing undoubtedly a lot happier for me, & for that i’ll forever be eternally grateful.

I share this with complete modesty. I cannot explain how both a series of very good and very bad circumstances put me into a position of producing and promoting shows with Meat and some of the other greatest names in Rock...some where my idols as a kid growing-up in the early 70s. However Meat may stand-out as the most compassionate and caring through small gestures. While promoting the Bat II Tour I had to pass on a private dinner invitation by Meat for making the shows I was working the best selling on his tour. When he learned it was due to a neck injury almost identical to what he endured lifelong pain from a similar due to a fall off a stage in Australia, he reached-out, send me gifts and even had his own physician guide me through some homeopathic treatment for the pain (It bought me 10+ years before a second neck fusion surgery.) He had no need or incentive to do that, to follow-up and provide care to a guy who was "just doing his job". For all I know there were 1,000 like me that he did this for. Most of all the biggest names in Rock were genuinely humble and caring people... some putting "gift lists" together after tours or shows... when Meat sent me personalized autograph gold-plated CDs, photos and follow-ups on checking on my health, it showed the true man of compassion caring for someone else living in chronic pain. My attempt is to try to pay it forward.. if you are a chronic pain sufferer and need help... reach-out. If not me, you'll find others who genuinely care and that light at the end of the tunnel is NOT a train.

There will be no one who will be able to write lyrics like Jim Steinman could for a long time. He could sing, too. But...No one can sing a Jim Steinman song like Meat Loaf can. A match made in heaven as far as music is concerned. Jim Steinman always had a Charisma and a charm that made interviews and everything really interesting. But Meat Loaf had a charisma that made interviews interesting as well. Somehow both had a totally different personalities and charisma, imo. But it worked...and boy did it work!!

Meat Loaf and Steinman. Like Lennon and McCartney before them, a paring of two absolute giants of music, together rising to the very best of pop music. Meat and Jim might have left this (miserable) world now, but we still have their catalogue of monumentally timeless classics. I won't ever stop listening to them (unless of course death is the end).

I lost my Dad November 10, 2012, and he was also a Meatloaf fan.😊 It STILL feels strange not to see him around. This may sound crazy, but for me, it feels...temporary. I mean, I know he's gone, but I don't think the "forever" part has sunk in for me yet. Sometimes, I wonder if it ever will... Is that weird?

Everyone else was listening to BSB and I was blasting "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights". He had some hard times and so many health issues but despite it all he really left his mark. I'm so happy I saw him in concert in 2016. His voice wasn't as strong any more but he was still iconic and he put on one helluva show. Rest easy Meat. ❤🦇
