Even if he didn't sing a part, just played the role and directed the entire show, this would be a phenomenal performance. He was a master of theatrical performance and audience engagement. He understood that we crave and pay for "spectacle"

It's a clip of the chilling performance called Night At The Proms. The Paradise video is over 20 minutes long, and is virtually perfect.

I danced with my daughter at her wedding to this song in October 2023. I a m a lucky guy to have have three beautiful daughters who can appreciate this music. She picked this song for us to dance to. ❤❤❤❤

Fun fact for you & your daughters. The very statuesque backing vocalist in long black dress and incredible waves of curly hair is in fact, Pearl Aday who called Meatloaf "daddy" by virtue of being his (step) daughter! Your family is spending time with Meatloaf's family as you watch, and that's pretty damn great isn't it?

Still watching this in May 2024. Meat Loaf was one of my heroes and the Bat out of Hell Album i get in 1977 is still one of my best Albums.. RIP my Friend

Meatloaf's daughter (step) was the tall, gorgeous backing singer on the right, looking like a panther in her long black dress. She is also an amazing rock singer with her own bands. Pearl Aday is her name.

One of the greatest of all times,I still have chills when I hear this great performer singing,rest in peace Meat Loaf.

Oh God everything about this was so perfect. The vocals, the orchestra, the piano, the whole performance.

Meat Loaf was such a larger than life performer. You will be missed you bloody Legend. This song became his Magnus Opus the moment it was released into the airwaves.

Sadly there goes one of the last great voices of an music era that was and is still amazing. There is no music style that can come even close to such epicness that Meat Loaf showed us all over decades. Rest in piece and I hope a lot of people will miss your songs as I do.

He always seemed like he would be a good fit for the remake, theatrical Phantom of the Opera. Instead they went with Gerard Butler. He was good I guess, but I wanted to see Meat Loaf in that role. Meat Loaf... carried the flag for us regular/not-so-pretty guys.

If you read the list of names in that place you quickly discover that they stole the sign from the actual Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Meatloaf maybe isn't "rock & roll" enough for them (lol), but he certainly would be the first induction, with Jim Steinman, to the Rock Opera Hall Of Fame. Even The Who wasn't as successful with Tommy.

I always loved the Ellen Foley vocal, but the performance by Patti does blend seamlessly with Meatloaf.

I saw the greatest concert of my life in 1978. Meat loaf - Bat Outta Hell. I've seen many since. never any better. RIP Meat.

Meatloaf wasn't just a singer, a musician, an artist, he was an experience. RIP Dear Meat you will live on through your music, and the memories forever. Xo 💕

When she said "sooner or later you'll be screwing around." Meat had such a look of pain and hurt on his face. It was such a great touch of showmanship. And heart-wrenching as well.

@@debidee5548 True. Devito was his early sidekick, but she didn't ever get to perform his later classic songs. Foley never even performed with him live (or even recorded their duet parts together). Patti did it all and did an amazing job. Her contribution to the band was only surpassed by ML & Steinman.

Watching this in 2023. Need this to soothe my aching heart. Beautiful performance. Passion and theatrical. This is true music. The silence and intensity between both of them after she sings “sooner or later, you’ll be screwing around” They def don’t make performances like this anymore. RIP Meatloaf and thank you for your beautiful voice ❤

This is a work of art. This is music! Every aspect of this performance. To the backing choir, the orchestra! The fact that this music involves actual musical instruments to come together! This is what real music is. I am 23 and would much rather listen to this than half the crap on the radio

Patti never disappoints. She's a rock star all on her own, but Meat & Patti brought out the passion in one another's lyrics. Check out I Couldn't Have Said It Better w/the Melbourne Orchestra. I get chills every time she "interrupts" him.

An amazing pair. We are all very fortunate that they happened to find one another.

I saw Meatloaf perform in 1993 at the Pier in St Petersburg, FL. It was just a small bar/nightclub. Maybe 500 of us there that night. I remember thinking to myself as I was listening to him that I was one of luckiest human beings on the face of the earth. That I didn't want to be anywhere else in the world but where I was at that exact moment. By far the best live performance I have ever seen. I literally left that night a changed person.

I saw him in 1990 in a small little basketball court in Ireland. He did an Irish tour of local civic halls that held 1,000 and 2,000. The show was utterly brilliant...

Queen had the best performance at the 1985 Live Aid just because Meat Loaf wasn't there..

Meat loaf’s ballads always felt so much more regal than the other players in the rock scene. This is quite evident from the entire orchestra setup behind him for his live performances.

I have listened to this song and the album practically a million times and never fails to give me the chills. The live performances even more so. I'm crying right now. No other rock performer has done this for me. RIP Meat.

I've read a ton of comments here and while most all of you agree with his voice and talent, to me, it's the emotion he put into his performances. In this one he makes you feel like it isn't just a song but a plea to Patti for real. The hurt look in his eyes when she sings, sooner or later you'll be screwing around. To me, it's the emotion that sets Meat Loaf apart from any of today's singers.

On a late night show, he once sang the Pizza Bagels jingle in the most dramatic way and it was awesome.

I never noticed before that he told her good job when they hugged. The most magical thing about Meatloaf is he aspired to be an actor. He barely had an acting career. He has some movies under his belt. A few memorable and more not. Again the magical part is he imagines a character for each album and he puts himself in that character when doing the songs. This is why is up there as one of the best performing artists. He and Freddie Mercury are on top in that category in my opinion.

You can just feel his emotion on stage, every performance, every time. few artists deliver this kind of feeling live.

His talent, showmanship and vocals cannot be compared to others as his performances were perfection and his dedication to his art was unmatched. If only he had taken the Covid shots, he could be performing. Great talent and performances. We miss you.

May your dad rest in peace. Your dad raised a heck of a great son I'm sure. Now you have a special Guarden Angel.💖 I know what it's like to have lost both parents. I lost my dad when I was 25 , June of 1976 and lost my mom 11 years ago at the end of July 2010. I belieave that when it's our time to 'go', our parents will be there to welcome us home.

If there was ever a reason for a LOVE BUTTON, it would be him. R.I.P. to the greatest performer that's ever lived.

I discovered Meatloaf when Bat Out of Hell 2 came out. I was 13 and just going through so much shit. I have this memory riding in the car with my mom, my head resting against the window watching things go by. I was in my own world listening to that album on my discman. Rock n Roll Dreams is playing and two lines stand out, the "you've been through the fires of hell..." and "you're never alone cause you can put on the phones..." I can't say enough how important this music was to me in my life at that time, and even though time has moved on, it will always have a special place in my heart. Love to all, and RIP to Meatloaf and Jim.

Me too!!! And life is like a lemon. But then my mum let me listen to Bat out of Hell. (The song) and on vinyl. The intro guitar that sounded like a motorbike came straight out of the speakers. So awesome

Amazing singer, artist, actor, but most of all he was an amazing man. I don’t tend to get attached to people I don’t even know, but I’ve felt a very strong connection to Meatloaf for some time now. I wish all the best for his family, especially during this time.

He’s sooooo engaged with his fans ! Love it ! Listen to the crowd !!!! How amazing !!!! The fans were his true love 😊

Man oh Man, I would have loved to see that performance in person. Unbelievable talent by every single musician there. Loved the guy on the First Chair French Horn, doing the air violin. Great camera angles. Piano player: like no big deal This is easy. Sure do miss the days of Marvin Adays music.

Still breaks my heart knowing another legend has now gained his angel wings. Your missed by millions. Your songs have helped me through so many good and bad times in my life and for that I will be forever grateful. God bless 😢😢😢

Meat Loaf was one of those that looked like me and normal, run-of-the-mill, not so pretty guys....yet his performances, writing, voice and pure talent way more than made up for it. When a not-so-pretty guy makes it this big and is so well-known and international... you know there was tons of talent involved. Dude is legend and his performances were original and epic! Rest In Piece Mr. Loaf....you'll be missed brother...but not forgotten.

He was a legend rock singer not to be forgotten

Saw Meat in concert in 1963.Was supposed to end at 11 pm but the crowd wanted PARADISE so many times he sang until 2 AM and then left only when they turned off the lights.He actually had us all in a trance for 7 hours.What a VOICE.
