Chorus:
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes
Oh, when the night is over
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone gone gone
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes
But when the day is done and the sun goes down
And the moonlight's shining through
Then like a sinner before the gates of Heaven
I'll come crawling on back to you

It's amazing how much that music can relate us to those that we have lost. Do not avoid the music as though it's a negative, embrace the energy that the music puts out and that he enjoyed. It is a celebration of his life in a way. God will carry us all to the great gig in the sky! ^_^

Surely this man was the Pavarotti of rock opera? So gloriously over the top but honest and authentic. Heroic music. RIP Meat Loaf and thanks for the memories.

Powerful. I never tire of this song.
What an act. What a guy. Rest in peace big man.
I seriously loved this man. His voice was unrivaled and he never got the credit he should have. His music brings me back to 15yr old me getting yelled at to turn it DOWN. RIP Meat, you touched so many of us.

My mum and dad took me to see meatloaf .. my first gig ever for my 16th birthday present at the GMEX in Manchester 🇬🇧. I am now 43. It was the best gig I've ever been to. It was iconic and epic in every way... but did we really expect anything less from this legend. ❤ RIP big man.
Greatest song of all time
RIP to an old school, genuine, no messing, straight down the line, honest as the day is long legend. Thank you for giving us real music that has become as much a part of our lives as breathing. Two outta three may not be bad but you'll always be number one.

Kudos to the band for keeping up with an absolute legend. This cut is undeniably legendary. Thank God for Meatloaf and the band. Fucking EPIC!!!

And what shift those two backing singers put in! The woman, Carla deVito, I believe, is magnetic.
Everything about this man was legendary. His vocals, his performances. It's a damn shame. Been thinking about him all day. I wish I was born just a bit sooner so I could've seen him live. Rest in peace.

Legend. Songwriters: Bow down on this.
Legendary music. Bat out of hell is still a masterpiece - made in a time when rock n’roll was composed by truly talented musiciens and singers. Meat Loaf was a master in that game.

he wrote zero words of these songs. He was a singer not a song writer. Amazing singer but had no creative force for his stories about dead teenagers.
He put EVERYTHING in his performances that’s for sure. This was later in the 70’s I believe. I just graduated from high school and he burst on the scene. I watched him on the Midnight Special and I remember my mother was so impressed by him, all of us were. RIP Meatloaf.

This will forever be one of the most over the top, dramatic and amazing tracks to ever be recorded. YES! A one-of-a-kind, true masterpiece. Still blown away 45 years later!
One of THE GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME. RIP MEATLOAF
Such a brilliant entertainer, I miss this level of passion.
April 1978 - We saw his concert in Ottawa (his foot got tangled in cables and he fell off the stage) I was hooked but the girl I took didn't like him or his music. I got rid of her and found another Meatloaf fan. 45 years later we're still rocking out. In 2016 I took my daughter and grand-daughter to another Ottawa concert. They both grew up listening to Meatloaf the way he was meant to be heard "LOUD". We had a blast. Thank you Meatloaf for all of the good music at our good times.
Devastated that Meat has gone. I was obsessed with this song when I was younger. What a voice. A legend. RIP.
God I love him, grew up with his songs, nothing today comes close to the bands and singers of that era.. RIP
