HEY YOU ABOUT TO POST SOMETHING STUPID:
Yes, I know my hands are large/fat. It's because of a heart condition I suffer from called Congestive Heart Failure. Here's a link to some information about CHF: cle.clinic/2TdS2Ux
One of the symptoms is that is causes fluid retention, mostly in the hands, feet/ankles, and face.
It will kill me one day. I'm doing ok right now, but someday...

    I bought that one as my first meter! Misty used it for checking continuity and resistance, which was fine, but ended up getting a new meter that measures in 6,000 increments (instead of 2,000) and includes capacitance meter too. Your other DMM videos helped me choose, so keep this stuff coming!

    Ive had this meter for a year. Its worked fine. I like how theres zero delay and loud on continuity test. Thats bettet than your harbor freight freebie meter.

    That looks like a rebranded Uni-T. At least it has a fused 10A range, unfused meters are dangerous.

    safe for battery or low voltage electronics that’s about it, more of a toy for a kid learning electronics powered by AAA or 9v batteries that’s about it.

    Only if they are the ammeters you need to hook up in series. Clamp meters don't need to be fused.

    @@insoft_uk Keep unfused meters away from car batteries as well. Those things can supply enough current to vaporize the cheap leads that come with said tools.

    For the fourth of July, take five inexpensive multimeters, connected in parallel with a switched 5 kilovolt input and film the destruction when you flip the switch. Will any survive? Have a great weekend Paul.

    Hey good morning. I finally got my ham ticket. thanks for the inspiration! now I need a big 12vdc power supply for my amp I dusted off after over 25 years of sitting. the most expensive part would be the transformer and I have a 1400 watt microwave transformer. I was thinking of redoing the secondary. If I calculated correct it should be about 100 amps at 13 volts. Hmmmm. what do you think?

    I don't mind a cheap meter like that (the Harbor Freight freebie meter) to keep in the truck or on my computer desk where there will never be AC or high DC voltage. And you're not out much when it blows or goes missing.

    I didn't hear you mention the 9v battery advantage. Any DVM with a 9v battery will perform better when it comes to searching for high impedance faults such as a ground fault. 9v is also better when it comes to checking diodes especially if there are a bunch in series like we have with fire bells and diode matrix.

  • @formosabrowning3539

    @formosabrowning3539

    I meant the 9v battery to power the DVM. So many of them have gone over to a 3v AA cells x2. I find them less effective for high impedance troubleshooting in real life, just because there is not enough supply voltage to drive to the fault.

    Good day, I'm looking for a good cheap, functional, cheap, DC clamp meter, cheap, but somewhat accurate. I need to possibly measure 300amps, DC, I have shunts I wire in, but that sux! Oh did I mention cheap! I have enough meters, I just need one that do The DC current! Any ideas?
