    Would I blow the fuse if I measured DC amperage on something that could potentially be 100 amps or more? I'm cautiously guessing it would... If so, what product can I buy to measure much higher amperages?

    We are having a hard time putting the battery in as it relies on shutting the cover and that doesn't seem to allow the battery to make contact to the terminals. Is this an old model, do you think?

    So I checked the manual for this and can't figure out which setting to use for measuring capacitance? It has a symbol in the manual that is not on my meter so I have no clue which one to use. Any help would be appreciated.

    Is there a way to calibrate? Reading very high on voltage. Confirmed with a second meter.

    I've used this particular multimeter model to test my motorcycle battery (12V) so I imagine it will work with a car battery. Here is a link on this topic which might prove helpful. Cheers!

    I have this meter. I'm wondering why the meter keeps showing 0.L. whenever I turn it on. It doesn't matter which setting the knob is at. The O.L. only goes away if I'm testing something. But once I stop checking whatever, the display reverts to O.L.

    Hi T Glenn, O.L. means "Open Loop." Open Loop signifies that the meter is ready to test. That's all! Hope this helps! If you have any further questions, let us know!

    Remove the soft plastic wrap which should expose the screws on the bottom-back of the unit. Remove the screws and slide off the back cover to expose the battery.

    How do you measure amps

  • @EtekcityUSA

    @EtekcityUSA

    Hi Shanae, thank you for your comment. To measure amps, please see the following: 1. Turn the dial to "20mA" in the "A-" 2. Place the black lead to the LED lead that connects to the terminal strip. 3. Place thee RED lead from to the resistor lead that connects to the terminal strip 4. The measured value will be displayed. (you can lock in your reading by clicking on the HOLD buton). 5. When measuring is completed, remove the probes from the LED terminal strips. Hope this helps! If you have any further questions, please let us know. Our customer support team can be reached at support@etekcity.com.

    1. There are two screws on the back panel that you have to remove. 2. Prop out the plastic cover, it's easier to open than it looks. 3. You'll immediately see the 9V battery and should know what to do from then on.

    To replace the battery, slip the meter out of the red plastic outer shell. Then, remove screws on bottom and pull it apart.
