"Able to do everything easily"... I'm currently doing ANS Rewire, and it took me quite a while to get to the "easily" part, but now I finally understand how essential this is for recovery. I'm almost 60 yrs old and have had CFS/FM for 34 years. I've seen two of the best doctors in the US and have researched this disease for decades. However, I learned more in 30 days on the program than I did in all that time. Only recently have I dared to believe I could recover, and I owe that to Dan Nueffer and his brilliant program! It's doable, BELIEVABLE and affordable! Thank you, Realan and Dan, for the great interview!!

I have used ANSRewire. I began in January. I found myself overdoing the program and forcing too much.... once I let off the gas a bit and less on boot camping my way through recovery, I am finding a rhythm.... the harder you work, the more stress... the more stress, the less recovery. Find a gentle pace. Dan even says to stop trying so hard. This is one of your top 3 interviews! Thank you!

This interview was so terrific and I can't thank you enough for it! I took so many notes. I started his program about 2 1/2 to 3 years ago when I hit rock bottom and had been totally bedbound. His program really resonated with me and I loved his multilateral approach. Within in 6 months of doing his program I was doing great, cooking all my meals, doing some light housework and walking 8-10 minutes a day. Then we moved into a new house and guess I got complacent and had a small setback and tried other things and another brain retraining program. I realized though how much more I like Dan's program and am back to doing it again. I do believe I will be one of his recovery interviews eventually!

I'm doing ANS Rewire at the moment. I've been doing it for about 6 weeks and I am mostly bed bound. My feeling about it was that it's the most plausible reason and solution I have heard and what harm is there in trying, if you are able? Dan doesn't push to do things, so things like movement aren't going to cause huge crashes unless I personally take it too far. I am improving but it is in tiny increments. When I started I could move for 3 mins of floor exercises a day but now I can do 15 mins plus a 3 min walk outside. I feel like the approach is kind of tackling everything at once and gently pushing up on them all. Because of my situation, with my partner being almost solely responsible for the children, I can't put anything more on him so with food for example, I just cannot cook everything fresh. Instead we are doing things like buying pre-made versions for now which is helping me to occasionally be able to get downstairs and do a batch cook. I can tell it's going to be slow for me but it is better than sitting here waiting for a miracle! I actually had no symptoms for 10 days right at the beginning. I think that was because with my first week I stopped doing anything else and just rested and took in Dan's videos. This last week I have had the monthly migraine which has thrown me off course and I guess I could be one of those people who says it doesn't work, but I don't feel that. I just think it won't run smoothly. I feel that most people who are attracted to the course would get something from it.

I thought I'd be happy to get out of pain and just be left with exhaustion (I have many symptoms but this is hands down the most debilitating); it turns out it's that much more frustrating to be exhausted when I'm feeling healthier than I have in a long time. At least when I was in pain, I could find excuses for the fatigue. Getting back into the CFS healing, slowly. I wonder if having endo predisposed me to CFS. This is really interesting. I also think all those diseases are one in the same. I'll look into his program because the other 2 brain retraining systems didn't speak to me. How would ANS dysfunction explain fatigue? Fatigue is a symptom of lack of ATP, mitochondrial dysfunction. Mitochondrial dysfunction could explain the ANS dysregulation. But even so one could imagine that ANS inrerventions could help get the body into a healing state.

Regarding migraines, I am in a group called Reid for moms of challenged kids such as autism. The goal of the group is to lower glutamate through diet, supplements, etc and many children improve or recover doing this, but also moms note that their migraines, depression, anxiety etc also improve. Glutamate is one of the main excitatory neurotransmitters, and it is implicated in autism, adhd, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, als, and so on. Implementing Reid protocols have certainly improved fibro and cfs issues for me. For me, though, it is incomplete without other modalities such as neuroplasticity.

I feel like my brain is constantly on fire and can't imagine calming the constant panic attacks and seizure activity down enough to make much of a difference otherwise. I've been bedridden most of 17 years, and out of the moldy situation now, but still very severe. Any experience of someone in this situation improving?

Hi Gretchen, sending you a friendly note to encourage you healing is possible from someone who was once in a similar situation. One thing you (and other readers seeing this) may want to consider is how the language you use around your triggers can impact your brain. The P word and the C word, pretty intense and descriptive. I found, for me, it was helpful to generally reframe it as - "I had some environmental visitors in my old house, then was able to reduce unhelpful things in my body and heal my fight-or-flight response." The trigger is just the trigger, it's our brain's continued to reaction to it. My husband was in the same house and was fine. There are many recovery stories with Dan's program ANS Rewire, the Lightning Process, and the Dynamic Neural Retraining System (DNRS) regarding the same trigger. Dan encourages a holistic approach, so that may involve a diet, a naturopath (though I didn't rely on this or do all the protocols myself), and sauna time at a level that's easy for you once your body gets there. I did Dan's program then DNRS and fully healed from the "house party crashers." I highly encourage anyone to check out these programs if they resonate with you. And echoing Dan and Raelan -- the trigger doesn't really matter (yes some things might help certain things) -- but the way out has similar themes, and the biggest one is healing the nervous system. I have found people with completely different triggers that their "way out" of CFS was very similar to my own. You've got this Gretchen!

I am hearing about some people having success with DNRS or GUPTA for MCAS, so I will keep on keeping on. A practitioner I would have liked to have worked with in the US said it’s 1/3 to 1/2 the healing with MCAS, nervous system work. ❤️

  • @CFSUnravelled1

Actually, I don't think ANYONE on the internet gives 'lifetime' access - what if you live longer than me or the program? 😉 It's really a marketing term which I think is a bit dishonest, so I don't use it. Do you use that term in your marketing work at the Optimum Health Clinic? Also, the program is outcome focussed, we want to recover, not keep trying. So another reason why I don't give indefinite access is because as people move towards full recovery, I encourage them NOT to use the program, which is why I like the prompt of the check in. However, as you know, I extend access when people need it at no additional cost, which I did in your case and many others. The key is really understanding WHY we don't make progress. I try to help people recognise that in the program, but also contact people about a consultation when they complete the education to ensure they are engaging EFFECTIVELY. I believe I followed up a couple of times, but you never booked it!? Sorry to hear you are still unwell, hope you make your breakthrough soon.

  • @stevejhkhfda

@@CFSUnravelled1 Hi Dan, I think it is fair to say under this video after stumbling across it, that after paying for your course and it didn't initially help me, a couple of years on I found out that I no longer had access...are you saying you are only expecting you or your patients to live a couple of years? I think most people understand what 'lifetime access' means - continuous access with no further payment. In my experience these techniques and a lot of information can take a long time to sink in especially when patients are unwell, so limiting access like this I'm not sure about personally. I never saw any indication when I signed up it would be limited either, perhaps it is there somewhere....but I would have queried it at the time had I known. All the other courses I have done I can think of - I've been able to re-visit. The Energy Excellence course for example has updated content I am checking to see if that can help me. After seeing this video I was wondering if yours was the same and I may have missed something. I was hoping I still had access but I didn't. Anyway I find it rather unnecessarily defensive of you to bring up my work as if I may be unfairly criticising you out of some sort of bias. I work freelance in PPC marketing (local to the UK area) and yes do some part-time work for the OHC (they were local to me) but this is nothing to do with that (feel free to ask Alex). I will try anything as a patient first and foremost, to recover (why i paid for your course and anything which looked like it could help). My ultimate goal is to recover, and I'm lucky to do a sliver of work given my health issues. You gave some more limited access back then yes, and its gone again so I can't review the course content to see if you have updated your approach given further experience - I had tried it as soon as it came out. I don't quite see what it would cost you to simply allow continuous access. In terms of you 'finding out why it had not work' as a reason to limit access, yes we had an email around that time and you never got back to me. My last email which you didn't reply to said (Jun 5, 2018, 1:51 PM) "Hi Dan, Ah ok I did not realise there was a time limit for the course...thanks for renewing my access for a bit longer...can you tell me what your fees are for consultation?" No reply I saw to that and I just checked my emails. If you had concerns about my work for the OHC you could have asked me that privately, but it seems unlikely that I would be asking to pay for private consultation if I was on some sort of OHC mission. My mission is recovery, and understanding this condition enough to achieve that goal. As ever, we live in hope, and I was hoping that there may be something I had missed which you might be able to help with.

@@stevejhkhfda Well, I think I answered your question about the access above already, so I won't repeat myself. I found your comments unusual and a little perplexing because you know that I extend access where people need it, that's what I did with you. Also I emailed you with an offer for a complimentary consultation on at least 2 occasions. @@CFSUnravelled1 "you know that I extend access where people need it, that's what I did with you" You mentioned it to me once in an email for me. If someone says you have 6 months further free access, that doesnt suggest you universally do it to everyone repeatedly. If anything by stating you have some further limited 'free' access - it suggests further access would be charged. If I knew you did it in general I obviously wouldn't have made the comment. "Also I emailed you with an offer for a complimentary consultation on at least 2 occasions. " I have no record of that. I have all other emails where we discussed the course then the final one which I quoted above you didn't reply to according to my records. Not sure what to make of that. It seems odd to get all emails but not those two free complimentary consultations I obviously would have happily taken and cleared up misunderstandings with. "the unusual interaction on facebook BEFORE you enrolled" I put your claims to some scrutiny in a public forum, nothing I would deem as that unusual. You must know that there are some major hardcore scientific ME/CFS advocates out there who would balk at even the idea of some psychological intervention. On the other hand I was interested, and purchased your course. You must realise there is a driving reason to that - which is I saw something in it. How many people out there have you found now who are selling courses for ME/CFS - don't you think it is necessary for patients to ask the hard questions after many disappointments and spending countless thousands on treatment? I am surprised how personally you took it to be honest. I appreciate it must not be easy to have to justify claims, but I am a teddy bear compared to what is out there in the ME/CFS world. I have to assume after giving me a little extra access, you ducked to have some consultation directly with me, and thats a shame, because I think you have misunderstood my case and motives, and would probably have found an advocate. Oh well.

I reached out to Dan because I respect the work he does and asked if I could interview him (and this is all for free). And at the moment, I think all options for ME/CFS recovery are "non-scientific." There just hasn't been enough research.

@@RaelanAgle Thank you for your reply. I'm influenced by my own very poor experience with this program from when I first got sick and fell into that rabbit hole. I don't think promoting trademarked programs this is right or fair to M.E patients though, but we will never agree on that. Hopefully things will change for us. All the best.

@@hellowp1345 I think CFS is part psychological (stress, trauma, etc) and physical (could be vitamin deficiencies, hormones, leaky gut, etc) and both sides must be addressed. Basically trying everything and deciding what works.

If someone is not a Christian whi believes in the bible they might say faith is positive thinking it's not jts to trust in god and sometimes if god should we believe is jesus christ when he chooses can heal in a supernatural way so when positive thinking wasnt enough and it can be instant or gradual when someone reads the bible jesus christ healed many and today sometimes he does supernatural miracles which is probably the lady you said god heal if cfs instantly by faith

When a Christian who I met a few said god healed them by faith its supernatural since many people are positive thinkers and still dont recover from being bad bound sometimes people need miracles.

@@CFSUnravelled1 Ok so the the brain and the nervous system is all one part its not 2 separate parts, in fact nothing in our body is a single part its all one as a whole unit. When we talk about pain we also include fatigue because it the same because its generated by the brain. Autonomic disfunction ,once again I would argue its triggered by chemical releases from the brain. So to say its not all in your head or rather psycho sematic is going against research and to go to the root the brain controls everything in our body. I personally think the brain tells the ANS what to do it would seem. So i guess the contradictions I'm talking about are that this condition (not illness in my opinion, just a different type of body) is not anything to do with our brain. But you went on to talk about Neurological pathways training and the brain controls everything(yes good point but you started saying that the WHO is wrong in saying that. but then saying that its not a thing, Neuroplasticity. Six years ago I developed Stevens Johnson Syndrome and have been really battling Chronic Fatigue to this day. And from what i have learnt my whole body has gone into permanent defense mode. Any stress, physical or mental causes total fatigue meltdown. It would appear from latest research from Otago University that we develop like a hair trigger in our brain that sends an over load message by way of excess chemical release into our cells inhibiting the cells to use oxygen to produce energy and reenergizing our body. Don't get me wrong your a top guy and I really enjoyed this discussion and I will always challenge to push for more information. And one thing is that I have altered my life to live with and not to worry about recovery. If I do recover then its only because my system has for whatever reason gone back naturally to the way it was. Im very comfortable with that. Swimming with the river is better than swimming against. I appreciated your impute to this channel so cheers mate, take care and good luck with your research.

@@finnroohomebrewing1846 Dan's program explains the scientific workings in clear detail, if you're into that, in his ANS Rewire program. Programs like Dan's give you the tools to get out of "defense mode." For me, I found surrendering and going with the flow (rather than fighting my body) was helpful exactly like you describe, but then also taking actionable steps to heal. IE accepting my body, but also that it was possible for me to heal, and I could do things to help it heal.

@@finnroohomebrewing1846 I think that "hair trigger" you speak of is the overactive sympathetic nervous system (as opposed to parasympathetic), which Dan does talk about...I'm currently reading his book, and so much of it just makes sense. Best wishes.💖
