Correction DNB has fixed fees across India irrespective of private, corporate or government hospital. It's around 1.2 lakh per year which is quite reasonable!! MD fees at GMC Amritsar is 1.5 lakh per year and many more such examples.

I think the doctors holding a DNB degree are exit after passing a national level DNB exit exam but a MD/MS degree holding doctor exit by giving a local university level exam. Hence, I think DNB maintaining a national standards.DNB I think superior.

*NMC Act* The Diplomate of National Board in broad-speciality qualifications and super-speciality qualifications when granted in a medical institution with attached hospital or in a hospital with the strength of five hundred or more beds, by the National Board of Examinations, shall be equivalent in all respects to the corresponding postgraduate qualification and the super-speciality qualification granted under this Act, but in all other cases, senior residency in a medical college for an additional period of one year shall be required for such qualification to be equivalent for the purposes of teaching also.

DNB passing rate ( in 1st attempt) is very less for Primary DNB in peds, ortho,Radio Diagnosis. It's hardly 10-30% for primary DNB in 1st attempt. I am saying "1st" attempt ,not in multiple attempt.

Don’t know about the pass percentage, but it’s a good hospital, decent patient load, lots of investigation facilities, great stipend, hands on and freedom, only issue is below average teaching.

Can I do DNB after bpt course.

Stipend of DNB is as equal as MD/MS of that state.

Dr Sandeep what about someone who has done MD but thereafter has pursued three year srship from 500+ bed centre..is that srship counted as teaching experience for eligibility as assistant professor in medical college?

Yes Neha. Post MD, 1 yr SRship is the teaching experience criteria after PG in most medical colleges. However for AIIMS and PGI faculty position, you need 3 yr SRship post MD for faculty posts.

Dnb Ctvs is suicide . Even ms ctvs is not sufficient now a days,unless you do fellowship after that.

Sir i got rank of 30k this year...... i might get not so good hospital for dnb anesthesia./dnb surgery.....in this case should i go for DNB or should i go for deemed university for MS surgery? is DEEMED Ms surgery worth paying 60-7- lac... (i am not from medical family background so i really have no idea+i am FMGE so i am unable to do counselling in state..... please help me.. i can afford paying 20-25 lac but is it worth it???

Hi. Apply for Uttarakhand state counselling. The Pvt institutes here are more than decent for M.S gen surgery compared to majority of deemed universities. Cheers

The whole slide discussed is about eligibility for teaching faculty ie. AP position and not eligibility for SRship. Obviously any DNB is eligible to do SRship.

Sir your opinion on dnb 6 years superspeciality courses like neurosurgery? Is it worth it?

DNB academics are far better now.. now NBE directly takes centralized classes in addition to regular classes in all hospital.

Yes. Almost all. But is usually more compared to MD overall. Some private institutes also have hidden charges.
