I was today’s years old when I discovered Grim Batman was a thing...It basically looks like Batman meets Punisher and that is awesome.

i’m still happy this channel is still alive been watching sense i was 12 i’m 18 now so it cool to still see these videos pop up

The version on the box with the cape and everything would’ve been a badass figure!

I don’t know why but there’s just something satisfying about Batman with a bunch of guns at his side 😎

Yeah that comic-cover art on the back is just an artistic take, but the plastic is what is actually running around in the comic, not actually but you know

Yea but it doesn't make sense why they would put artwork on the box that looks nothing like the figure lol just use a different picture from the comics so they match. This seems to be a recurring thing with this line

I'm currently using the legs and hips of this figure with the torso and arms of the Marvel Legends Movie Venom to make a custom Bane figure. It's working out really well. Also, when you take off all of his excessive belts and bandoliers, his body actually looks a lot like Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell, so I might use another one of these for that, too. I feel like you're really harsh in your reviews but I kinda like it because I know you're giving an honest opinion 👍

I've gotten only a few McFarlane DC figures, pretty much Hellbat, Unchained Supe, Arkham Asylum Batman and Joker, and Thomas Wayne Batman. Sculpts are great, but the big shortcoming for me is always the engineering of the articulation. It definitely shows that the inclusion of articulation is done begrudgingly, historically Todd prefers the statuesque stuff, but that doesn't sell at mass retail, so just make some cuts and stuff some joints in there with not a lotta finesse to it, and call it a day.

It's kind of hard to tell whether it's generally good or generally bad. Especially for a gun-toting tactical action figure, the grim Knight is just a frustrating action figure. Just do guns and a whole backpack of melted together guns, poor. Only thing I would do now if I got this action figure is stripped that weapons pack for any usable parts to make it custom weapon accessory.

I have the figure and design and concept wise it's one of my favourites. If there's one thing I would change (other than obviously adding the torn cape like in the box art) it would be to have a really well sculpted sniper rifle or assault rifle to have on his back rather than the gun amalgamation back piece. I can see what they were trying to do, but it doesn't quite work looking at it.

There's no way to tell they're ak mags when they aren't shaped properly to begin with though. The curve is the only indication.

That ankle joint on snapped at the peg out of the box for me. I cut down a revoltech joint for a replacement, but man those ankles are rough AND flimsy.

for the question of the day i would say the one on the box, i really like how the black parts look like cloth and the silver parts are armor, i love the torn cape and like how he has different weapons on his back (a spear for example) EDIT: forget about the cape i just noticed, that's not a cape lol

Looks fantastic on the shelf for $15-20 Agree about molded details needing a little dry brush or something. That’s my issue with current day Hasbro Transformers.

Nice review......there are many good things about the figure and some major flaws as well. I totally agree with the reference picture in the cardboard. It would have been a great fig if they followed it. Anyways nice and informative review as well. Keep up the great work. Peace

No paint on accessories is stupid. I guess it's like with Hellbat Armor where they made Rebirth version but put New52 version on the card because Rebirth one wasn't on covers. Although this one looks like an alternate cover because Grim Knight had one one-shot. Guess it's that, they put whatever picture shows full character?

Fantastic Review!!! Although I think DC Multiverse has made some improvements, I do not think the McFarlane line is consistent. His figures are a “Hit or Miss!” The articulation is very choppy and convoluted, the head sculpts are at times awkward, there are never fists included with figures that can benefit from having them.....deff not a McFarlane Fan.....further I was pissed when he jacked up Death Stroke!!! Great review though, keep it up!

So I have a question, I'm looking for someone to create a custom figure for me, most places I've looked so far are dead ends. Could I get you to create my figure for me or you tell me where to start?

Only reason I don't get this figure is because the 2 useable guns look lame. A grenade launcher and an smg? Feels like a very weird akimbo option. Sawn off and an ak or a sniper rifle of some kind would've been better imo.

@@AnthonysCustoms I think so .he goes by Losha Magee. He certainly did the head on Grim Knight. Also the bandolier is not lopsided. It’s actually made to fall that way along the chest and back. The hole that the “gun wings” pegs into is also of center to match with the hole in the bandolier. I do agree they should have gone with the other artist rendering for the card art.

I’ve passed on this figure several times. I just don’t get the “gun totting Batman” thing. It’s way out of character for Batman. He has stated on multiple occasions that "guns are for cowards" and he’s certainly no coward. Bruce Wayne’s entire motivation to become a crime-fighter came from a traumatic childhood episode of horrific gun violence. Thus his natural (and logical) aversion to guns! I really don’t see why so many people want to turn Batman into a gun wielding murderer. If you’re into that kind of thing, go read the Punisher. Leave Batman as the real hero he is.

I hope Grim Knight gets his own ongoing series. He's the only Dark Knights Metals character I'm interested in. As for the figure, I sold mine as it was quite disappointing for me. I'll just wait for a Mafex or Mezco version.

Damn . Crushed my favorite figure. LOL. The ankles don’t bother me anymore it is what it is at this point. The melted guns I understand but not a big deal cuz collectors have to many guns anyways. Idk man, I think of all the junk I buy, this line and the other stuff from Mickey F’s has average figures overall. Yeah they get some good ones in but other than that nothing really hits the dot 100%.

In what sense? The fact that it's different than the box art? Despite that, the fact that it's very well sculpted and designed and comes with the accessories it does, all for the same price as a marvel legends figure (it was for me) is great in my opinion.

@@xigbar1994 Of course not, that would be silly (although I genuinely have no idea why they keep using box art which doesn't match the figure). I wouldn't call it very well sculpted (they can't sculpt heads to look human for shit) nor would I praise the accessories that came with it (the gun blob is ridiculous). Yeah, it's quite nice that the McFarlane DC figures are all unique sculpts, but a lot of the time the unique sculpts aren't good. Say what you will about Marvel Legends, but using a buck isn't inherently bad, especially if it's a good buck and a good buck is way better than a crappy unique sculpt which this is, with bad proportions and poorly integrated articulation.

@@chataclysm2112 Fair enough, I respect your opinion and people are allowed to have their criticisms, I have mine too (inparticular the Azbat figure). I just think that people are being overally critical and not putting respect on McFarlane's name in that they are releasing some of the best DC figures in years (definitely design wise), all at decent prices. If anything, all this shows is the potential and room for the DC Multiverse line to grow. 👍

And to think this is one of the more expensive figures on the aftermarket.

I would have liked this figure more if it actually looked like the picture you used. His arms look really thin, I feel like a lot of these McFarlane figures need better muscle definition. Also, his face is very bird-like, lol. The boots have a weird design too. If you look at them from the bottom part they look like they are in the wrong side, but from other angles they look fine. There's so much weird stuff going around the DC Multiverse sculpts.

To answer your question, the cardboard version. The action figure version looks like Punisher cosplaying as Batman lol.

Altho the headsculpt is a weird shape it kinda reminds me of the artwork in batman black mirror, dick Grayson's head kinda looks like this in the batsuit so mite come in handy for a custom Grayson bat at some point but that's the only reason I would buy this figure.

Hahahaah forhead is meant to reflect punches man I cry of laughter thanks, and by the way I saw your azrael armor and even do you did mention that it has issues I bought it lol and holly S=%^^ QC issues are so bad on the sholders and mine had a lazy eye lol I did disaemble the arms and man is an ugly join is not a butterfly join in just a giant peg atatch in to the arm with a little ball peg and inserts in to a small peg hole on the body and im pretty sure all of the figures are using the same join. Well this bats is cool but I hate molded guns on hustlers so I will pass on this guy and he is missing a cape and armor so if I see this guy cheap I will pick it up.

The real reason why that figure is so expensive is because it's rare. Otherwise it will be priced as any regular batman figure.

Looka cool but not a fan of all the molded guns together. I don't like the head sculpt. This figure could've been a deluxe figure with all those molded weapons that are functional.

The bat logo on mine is pure white.

It's a really cool figure, but idk there's something wrong with it. Like the face? I'm not a fan of the head sculpt. Also, it's lacking some red accents like the one in the trading card. Makes the figure color a bit boring.

I think that mcfarlane should've included the molded piece that goes on his back and some other guns too, other than the ones they give us.

Something about the leg articulation/ legs in general and the molded plastic just ruins this figure for me
