2/10 for the figure. 9/10 for the collector card image.

The problem with McFarlane is that they always sculpt the figures without incorporating the articulation, then they cut the figure in chunks and put in joints without thinking if it will work.

@@iandakid672 Hasbro is million times better than mcfarlane. Hasbro has many good lines like GI Joe for example, it's their ML line is bad, Mcfarlane is awful in general.

The funny part is that there's actually a wash and silver paint on the scalemail part of the forearms (guess because it's a different plastic), but not the rest of the fig. Which makes the plain, unpainted grey plastic even worse... I bought it because I needed an Etrigan for my display and this was basically the only option, but god is this release disappointing...

I appreciate McFarlane putting out these peg warmers, it gives me an opportunity to practice my painting since a lot of the sculpts are pretty decent. I feel much better using something like this, that was ~$7, rather than real figures.

Me: *Starts watching one of Anthony's videos* Oh, that looks pretty cool, I want one. Me: *Finishes Anthony's video* This figure absolutely sucks. And this is not a dunk on Anthony, it's actually a positive. I really hate watching reviews that can't properly point at flaws. You NEED to have the negatives pointed to you, otherwise one'd be throwing their money at any worthless crap companies are trying to sell us and be disappointed over and over. Some reviews, especially the ones in my native language (Spanish) feel less interested in showing you qualities and flaws and more interested in flexing that they have the figure they're showing. Plus, I kinda have an impulse buying problem so I wish there were more people like Anthony keeping me from buying stuff lmao.

I like how Anthony also gives us an anatomy class. How the chest should be wider for his size, the muscles on the arms, etc.

Yeah, they're definitely modeling these first and then just cutting up the model to add articulation. Its almost like they had a statue and sliced it up to add joints. Also, you should review the new Marvel Legends Iron Man Mk 70.

I honestly love this figure. Fits great on the dc shelf.

Can't agree on anything exept for the elbow joints. I can almost get 90 degrees on the waist(back and forth). The eyes look very differant and more detailed on mine tbh. The hip and leg movement is pretty amazing but you have to handle the figure for some time to get it moving better. For a 24$ figure this is actually great. Don't forget its price point and what you get in return for that. Its movement is actually even better than a WWE elite figure wich is stunning if you concider that this has a full suit of armour... 9/10 for me! No offense but i feel like some of you expect figurearts articulation with the sculpting of a static statue. So many complaints from people who set it in one pose and then put it on their shelves for eternity.

The new movie Black Adam Rock figure looks out of this world. Maybe it’s just clever promotional photography, but if it’s 75% as good and articulates at all, it may be the new best movie figure ever made. The page puncher Black Adam looks great too, though the torso proportion is off, like the Fatman build a horse figure. I bought a bunch of half price or less McFarlane figures during the Target sale and I passed on Etrigan, mostly because I don’t really want to give my kids something named “The Demon” to play with. I feel like I definitely am not missing anything.

I love how brutally honest you are and appreciate it, love this character and am content with my DCUC Demon, almost grabbed this guy a few times and planned on giving it a black wash at least but if the articulation is that bad why bother? Ppl accepting this stuff is why we continue to get sub par figures. Also every McFarlane DC figure and just today I bought Haunt only bend backwards but no crunch forward… how often is anyone really bending em backwards vs forward? It’s complete BS at this point. And Hasbros great figures are only great because we have 100’s of sub par ones to pay for the effort into those few really good ones. Anyways keep up the good work!

This design came out of the white knight series I think.....I think it looks great. I don't mind doing some custom paint and I don't play with em so as long as I can get a pose, I'm happy. McFarlane is the only mainstream company putting out this level of detail at these prices

It actually came out of the new 52 "demon knights" series, probably one of the better stories to come out of the new 52. Highly suggest the read!

Same,the shoulder hinge just had to loosen up for a good 5 minutes.

The secret to Todd's success is charging Target prices for dollar store items.

Aesthetically I'd like this design if they combined his old proportions and aspects of the red suit with this design. So have him built like his old design, and have the scale mail under the armor plates be painted a gloss metallic red, and the gunmetal a super shiny gunmetal on top. A bigger more symmetrical cape, in blue would have been perfection. The figure itself is once again a near total disappointment.

I heard before that Todd hates articulation as it "breaks" the sculpt.

Honestly this thing is pretty nice for customizers, I've increased the articulation a decent bit and repainted it, now it's pretty cool, that being said tho, as a regular products this is just horrible

The new crime syndicate super woman has her bicep sculpted on her shoulder, so when you swivel the bicep, she has a bump on her shoulder

I still can't believe he got that license. Some dumb.

Great review. I won’t be spending my cash on this, that’s for sure. I saw the new Gorr the God Butcher figure in the Legends series at a local store. I’m really intrigued by the character and was considering buying it but it looked a little lacking in detail.

I appreciate your attention to detail.

The collar on mine looks fine, but I do agree the colors are too dull. Would benefit highly with a wash as you said. The only major issues I have with the figure is there is no bicep swivel which hinders the articulation a ton for me.

At the beginning you were looking for the word to describe his chest armor piece and I believe it is called a bustier. It is so upsetting that they included the card with a pose the figure can’t do, as if to mock the purchaser. Thank you for another great review Anthony❣️💯🤟

Excellent review! Everyone wonders how Todd can keep releasing figures at $20 while other companies have increased by $5-$10. Well, it’s because McFarlane doesn’t have anyone to engineer the figures. Just sculptors.

I remember when I was a kid and started collecting action figures, one of the things that ticked me off the wrong way was the fact that the promo pictures on the back of the blister packs always looked better then the actual product. Later on, when I started collecting Japanese action figures, I noticed that the prototypes were much closer to the actual action figure, in some cases you couldn't even tell the difference. Eventually all companies decided to go that way or maybe the mass produced items got way better, the fact is the differences between the prototypes and the product being sold weren't noticeable. Recently two companies seem to have regressed a bit regarding the difference between the actual product and the prototypes, they have very good prototypes but the mass produced products being sold aren't that good, those companies are Super 7 and McFarlane Toys. Showing a promo picture of a good prototype and then selling not that good a.figures is a very dishonest marketing strategy. Since most of us buy these a. figures through preorder that is, in my opinion, unforgivable. I agree with all your critics, if I hadn't given up on McFarlane toys... yet again, you would've saved me some money through this review Thanks for the review Anthony and thank your friend for allowing it to happen.

I happily paid $6 for this as I do for many McFarlane figures, few of them I preorder at full price

A part of me wonders if most of the sculptors are only experienced in making statues and then were given jobs in this company. In this action figure company.

I know prototypes are always at least a little different from the promo shots, but this is barely the same figure as shown in the not stylized, product shots on their website. I'd be pissed if I ordered base don the pics and received that.

I got it for five dollars on Amazon that is how you know a figure is bad if it’s cheaper than a marvel legend

"Just paint it yourself " is a poor argument people use. You wouldn't buy a car without tires and just put some yourself.

I paid like $8 for this and i just wanted it for my Justice League Dark team.

Im not sure how to feel on this one. I love older mcfarlane stuff with limited movement. Just torn as they look amazing but they dont have a good action pose or; where as the older stuff had an action pose already. Just feels like they are trying to give us the old highly detailed limited articulation stuff we got in the late 90s early 2000s, just with more joints

Really disappointing. This line could be so much more than it is if someone that cared about articulation worked at McFarlane Toys.

"Fun" detail, display stand doesn't work in this figure, foot holes are shorter than the peg of the display

I think mcfarlane is better off just focusing on his spawn figures.

That articulation is trash. Didn't they at least make a protype figure to see how it would move in real life? It's like they sculpted, added some joints, and went to production.

He is a demon so he is treacherous and showed himself properly done on the card, lured us to get him and then... Laughed at our face when we noticed what a piece of crap he is hahaha I can't believe those arms, that alone tells me "don't get me" with desperation xD thanks for the review!

Holy cow! They would have HAD to modify the figure to get the pose in the promo pic. They knew they had a stinker on their hands and sipped it anyway….

Too little too late, Anthony. Already bought it months ago. It had really bad elbows and knees. Sold it off so I can buy the DCUC one in the red tights.

Funny thing is I almost never see a lot of McFarlane DC stuff pegwarm, but this dude you couldn't give away. I had never heard of this character before and yikes, what a crappy introduction to what I assume is a badass character. Usually I'm willing to give Todd and company the benefit of the doubt, this I'm sorry, this guy's an orange turd in scale mail. Sucks because I was curious if I could mod this dude into a generic medieval troll/goblin character but nah, thanks for saving me money

I think the image on the back may be a hand painted prototype with dramatic lighting and photoshop, but I didn't have a problem getting him in that pose where he's holding the sword in front of him with both hands. 🤷

I've only bought some Warhammer figures from mcfarlane which aren't bad, mainly the skeletons. But everything I've seen from their DC figures, this included, is pretty trash. Surely they know that because its DC, people will buy them no matter what, which is why they keep putting out these trash cans
