does the dashcam always activate when you start the engine or do you always have to activate it manually?

If you are running loop recoding, then it will auto start when you turn on the car. No need activated it manually.

@@myelebest I'm afraid it does not do that on mine and the MB UK tell me you have start it each time you start the engine, Not sure yet what happens with the stop and go yet.

@@myelebest more interested in it starting as soon as the starter button is pressed. And it takes time to appear on the screen. Just a wast of £200.

@@myelebest Lol: I would like to autostart on the start of the car just like any other dashcam. Which it will not do in the UK. If anyone knows a work around please tell me.

Bought yesterday, once you worked out how to replay seemd okay but the restart each time is a big pain especally if your running music from another usb. For £200 I might sent it back as I'm not sure its any better than a stick on one from eBay for £12/16 which I have had in other cars. UPDATE: 15 jULY 2021. Now had it removed and getting a full refund. It took a bit of waiting for MB Customer Service on thier 00800 number who then put me through to a guy who said no problem will refund today. I did explain the reasons and was told a number of customers have said the same, but no problem I'll refund and if you buy in the future you can still get a refund if your not happy. So all good there but a MASSIVE DISAPOINTMENT on its setup, recorded on my music flash drive and some times on another drive just a piece of S*%"T really. MB said they may update in the future but no guarantees, shame as the nice camera is all built in. Now using an old cheap stick-on one from eBay, starts/stops records fine and I have just gone "up market" and ordered a new one from eBay that is quite small and has wifi!. This was my reasons in an email to MB but no reply as yet.

Good video. very helpful on how to view recordings. I thought you viewed from the app when in the car! No info from MB me or any help. Another issue was viewing on the laptop, nothing would play the files so had to convert to MP3 or AVI through software. Thats just a pain, why cant it be easy to view? Another thing is the start up each time, why? and to play music from another USB can be done but what a rigmaroll. Not worth the £200 for the hassle.

does the MBUX have a rear dash cam function? Also can it record when the car is idle or during night time to monitor any parking damage?

So i can coding dashcam also i live in country with restriction? And i have W177, is it possible or depend that model i have?

Could you please post your MBUX Version? Which frech update (FUP) do you have on your car? Did you have to do an individual coding? Thanks for your Antwerpen.

I believe you need FUP3 to get the dash cam option shopping with personal POI speed camera notifications in the Mercedes sat nav

Other question:also records engine off? example if you hit your car in the parking lot.

They seriously need to allow other countries to use this function. UK has no dashcam restrictions yet Mercedes won't activate it because "dash cams are illegal in the UK" according to Mercedes UK, which is clearly not true.

I have the Dashcam on my 2021 amg 35 . I do not see the Dashcam app on my mbux system how do I download or buy the app. In canada Dashcam is legal. Thank you

Does video recording have to be started every time manually from the screen or it can record automatically when car is started?

@@myelebest no it doesn't auto start, well not in UK , you need to add it to favourites and start it every time before you set off lol

Is this app specific for Singapore? We dont have it here in UK. How do you get this app in MBUX?

Annoyingly when i asked Mercedes Uk I was told "dash cams are illegal in the UK and that's why we can't activate this in the UK" ??? Makes zero sense. even if they mean inbuilt dachcams Citroen cars have them inbuilt in the UK.

My mercedes a class 2019 A200. Don't have mirrorlink. How can I get it to my car.

MirrorLink seems not available in this MBUX any more. Only in those older Comand system like NTG5.5 in W213 E class or W222 S class.

Is this available in all countries or only in Singapore? In mine I don't have this here in north America. Any app I need to install?

I had the option to purchase the activation at £200 after updating mbux to FUP3 (had to keep the car overnight as download was large)

This is an App in the MBUX: Dashcam, not an app in your phone.

I have the A class w177 usa version and and I have the original dashcam and it shows the camera on the software settings but it says deactivated how can I activate it. thanks in advance
