How it go?

Insane! Looking to buy it. Can you use it with your iPhone plugged into the Digidash to make sure you doesn't lose sound quality while listening a good music video (I have two Audison amp, 7 speakers Audison and one Audison subwoofer in my CLA35 2022) or the only option is with via Wifi connection?

This is perfect even if u don’t end up using it for video playback, wireless CarPlay is just much easier and less fussy

wireless CarPlay is so nice. Mercedes-Benz have finally started to included it in cars now. It worked great for me in the EQE and I think It's also in the new C class. Glad they have finally listened!

Cool but this is not using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and mirroring your apps. It’s just using your phone wifi or data. You still need to install or login to the apps which are separate on this device. Something to consider. Thanks for the vid.

Hi just one thing, when I said to Digidash technical that the supplied cable snags my console cover on my Mercedes EQA can they suggest ware I can get a usb-c to usb-c cable.The email reply I got said there isn’t an after market usb-c to usb-c cable available. But in your review you show one so I don’t understand. Ware did you get yours from.

Hi Nabeel, I haven't tested myself but I think you may need to have full CarPlay activated in order for it all to work I'm afraid :(

Hi, Android Auto does not work on 2018 eclass with ntg 5.5 audio 20 12.3" screen. The car has the phone icon USB in the centre consul. Any ideas to get it working. I asked the local dealer and he said Android Auto was not installed but didn't seem too interested. I have checked the connection menu on the screen and it does not show android auto. And I checked mercedes aps and nothing their either. My phone has c connection. The reason I want android auto is that the map is outdated and the dealer said a new card is about 400.

Hi could you shed some light on this? When my digi dash boots on it automatically boots up android auto but turns wifi connection off when doing so. If I manually turn wifi back on and go back into android auto it turns wifi back off again. Can you not have wifi on when android auto is running? If so is there any way of changing it?

Hi you're video is helpful thank you. I bought one of these came the other day. It's missing the little adapter. So, I emailed them. Also, does this have to be permanent in your car, meaning if I take it out, does it lose all your settings, causing you to reset them? Because I set mine up and took it out now showing offline. Hi Ryan, I asked about it and was able to get the USB-C from them which works great. It’s such a pain that Mercedes left such little space where the door closes. Have you tried checking with digidash if they have a c to c cable? Hopefully they will be able to help.

A right angle usb c cable would be perfect for this. Also nice name.

hmmm says not compatible with Mercedes EQE (I have the new EQE SUV). But it has the port this needs so whats the reason its not working?

Does this also work while you’re driving? I have a 2020 4x4 MB Sprinter Van (Winnebago Revel) RV that I’d like to get this for, mostly for my passenger to have some entertainment while on very long drives. It just has more functionality than just Apple CarPlay and I think I’d be a great add on to the rig. Great video! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

Hey, Yep it all works while driving since It runs on its own operating system. Would work great for passenger entertainment. Just make sure your car has apple car play functionality, the box needs the car play port to work 👍

Does the track pad in the center console and the steering wheel allow you to navigate or do you have to use the touchscreen itself? I know it works under android auto but haven't got anything to test it under carplay

The back button on the steering wheel works and the two touchpads bring up a cursor similar to a laptop but it’s quite laggy and has a bit of a delay so it doesn’t work very well. The touch screen is the best way to use it. The non touch screen version comes with a small remote I’ve been told if you have the older comand system.

I have a 2022 gle coupe, and tried using a cable to connect to my phone via android auto. For some reason it didnt pick up many apps at all only the basic ones like spotify, smartthings, etc. Do you need a specific verison of mbux to get video related apps to work?

Video related apps won't be availble by default, this is due to safety measures.

Will it work with a 2022 Mercedes cla? this on has the newer mbux system.

Hey, this will work but only If you have the factory CarPlay/android auto option. There’s an easy way to test If you have it just plug your phone into the port by the cupholders and If android auto/CarPlay pops up on the screen you have it and the digidash will work with your car.

Hey Ersin, I think you will need to have CarPlay fully active for this to work. It uses the CarPlay ports and software to run Its own internal android operating system so I don't think it will run without it.

Anyway this can work with the USC-C ports in the armrest? Then it wont take room from the center console / wireless phone charger

Unfortunately not in the CLA and A class. The one in the front is a special USB C port for car play.

If you don't want to thether to you phone, can you put a data only sim, into the box

No :( I don’t think any Mercedes have wireless car play yet, only BMW seem to have it! No idea why as it’s such a better experience wireless.

Hey, I focused just on Mercedes here but the digi dash is designed to work on lots of cars, I hear it works well on Audi’s so I suspect it will work great in the golf too.

Hey Greg, this will work with an android or a iPhone as long as your car has the CarPlay option. You only use your phone to share your data with the box, the box runs on its own version of android which is why all the apps work :) On the digidash website it says worldwide delivery so I think you can order to the US straight from the website. Hope this all helps.

Do you still need to have the Apple CarPlay feature on your Mercedes anyway? Or does this device bypass that and add it?

You need to have active CarPlay for this to work. When connected it uses CarPlay to load up so it won’t work without I’m afraid.

Hey, I’d activate car play just to check it all works ok before getting a digidash just in case. If CarPlay works with your phone you know the digidash will work too. 👍

Hey :) They sell a version that comes with a remote for non touch screen cars. Il be honest though I haven't tried it so I'm not sure if it works well.

Hey Alex, it should work but I think you have to use a special remote. They sell a version with the remote but I haven’t tested it myself so I’m not sure what it’s like. I think you can choose the version on the website.

Hey, I’m using an iPhone in this video. But its only to share the internet to the digidash. The digidash is a box that runs its own version of android (like having a second phone) When you connect it to carplay it runs directly of the box and carplay allows it to come up on the car screen.

Hey, Yep this should all work as long as the car has working Apple CarPlay and android auto. Is it the new GLC with the large tablet touch screen? I haven’t tested it on this yet but I’ve heard it works great on the big screen.

Hi, If the car has Apple CarPlay or android auto when you plug your phone in the box should work. But you won’t have touch functionality so you may need to get the one with the remote. I haven’t tested this one myself.

Hey Mursal, If you plug your phone into your car does CarPlay/android auto work? This is a good way to check since the digidash runs off the cars CarPlay functionality but not all cars have it.

Hey, unfortunately android auto is required for this box to work. It uses the cars existing android auto to connect up and enhance it.

Great question! It should display on the hyper screen the same way regular car play would. I hear it works well on the newer big screens like the new c class etc

I'm guessing it was not included in the factory spec although you'd think it would if it's a premium plus. It might be worth checking to see If it's possible to add as a digital upgrade via Mercedes-Me although knowing Mercedes It might cost a bit of money.

Hi Thiven, If you press the home button in the top right corner it instantly goes back to the standard Mercedes MBUX and everything works as normal, then if you want to go back to digidash you just press the CarPlay button at the top. It’s really quick and easy to switch between the two.

Hi Irene, If the car has working android auto or Car play then the digidash should work. It’s sometimes an optional extra on these cars so make sure your car has it first.

Hey, If the car has the optional CarPlay/android auto it will work. Are you able to use CarPlay or android auto in your car.

Will this realy work with Apple? because Apple puts all DRM protected content on black... Netflix or other apps work when you open the app and play trailers but when you play the actual movie or serie it goes to black on all other solutions I've tried.

The Digidash box is like a little android box. It connects to the car and runs off its own operating system so it’s not connected to apple at all. All you do with your phone is set up a Wi-Fi hotspot then you connect to it to share your 4G/5G. Think of the digidash like a Amazon fire stick but for your car. It works independently so you can run anything android allows.

Hi Kola, There's nothing to worry about If you lease or warranty. This little box is no different than when you plug your phone into the car. It simply uses the cars photo interface and the box runs independently. It doesn't have to install anything on your car etc. So no worry for warranty etc at all. Hope this all helps :)
