@@martf8014 Thanks Mart. Funnily enough I don't even use aftereffects. The majority of my transitions etc are all shot in camera and I lightly edit it together in post :)

When using the skeleton key to gain entrance to the car The hole under the handle is used to remove the plastic cover which then reveals a normal lock.

Great video! I’ve just recently bought my first ever Mercedes (2018 glc 250 D AMG line) I keep both my keys in a Rfid box but I never knew they did all these ‘tricks’ so thanks for all the info 👍

Good vid. I’ve just bought my 5th C Class and the salesman at the dealership didn’t even know about tip 1. Unbelievable. He was amazed when I told him. This should be the first thing they tell you with all the relay thefts that happen nowadays. With my spare key I just take the battery out of it....

No problem David, Just a heads up the key removes the door handle surround then you access the key slot. Also check out my othet videos to show how to start the engine using a dead keyfob :)

Okay Im impressed. I own a stage 1 (w204) C200 cgi, and I thought to unlock all doors you always had to press twice! The thing worked. Unfortunately the windows dont come down by themselves but at least I learned something new. Thank you!

Great video! Question- first tip tells you how to “turn off” your key fob but how do you turn it back “on”? When it’s “off” does that mean that you can’t use keyless entry when you approach your vehicle?

Thanks! Yep it disables keyless entry till you press the unlock key. Once you press unlock it resets the key back to normal. It's to stop people piggybacking your key signal to steal your car.

@@ABAUTOAMG First off, as a video producer, I commend you on how professional your video is! I understand how this could prevent piggybacking the key signal to open your car, but would the car actually turn on or be able to be driven if a thief tries to drive off while the key is in MY possession? I know I can't even turn mine on if the car doesn't sense that the key is in close enough proximity.

I loved the video so much, so many helpful tips. I tried the first tip where you deactivated the key and reset it by unlocking as you say in some of the other comments, however, I cant seem to get the Keyless go working again

Thanks Brandon! That's odd with the keyless it should reset and activate once you press the unlock key and lock as normal. Did you manage to fix it?

Is there a way to remote start the engine with your key? I know you can do it on the app, but I'm wondering if there's a way with the key. It's really useful for those of us who live in places with rough winters where you need to heat the car up a few minutes before getting going.

I just subscribed to this channel. It is very well done. I will not repeat the obvious in the comments below. What I really like is that you can forward or reverse using the slider on the time bar at the bottom of the screen. It has a description of what the gentleman on the video is saying. Thanks for the tips! Also, I discovered that I can lower all the windows using the driver's side door handle. When you unlock the car without using the key (approaching with the key in your pocket), just keep your hand on the handle and pull without opening the door. -Maybe you can do a vlog about it?

In the garage I keep a 2007 CLK350 Cabrio with only 60K miles, it is fun in the summer. Used to have also a 2012- C300 class and 2014-E350 class, but sedan is not my style. Best Regards, Julio

Hey! Thanks I'm glad you found the video helpful. Just unlock the car using the unlock button and it will unlock the car and reset it so when you lock the car again you either double or single press depending on if you want to disable the keyless. Hope this helps!

Cool vid. Just one question about using the skeleton key. If you use it to unlock the car, won't the alarm go off? And if it does, how do you turn the alarm off if the fob battery is dead?

Well the only situation you would need the manual key is when the car battery completely died,then the alarm won't be functioning,but yes the alarm would go off if you used ur manual key,there's a way around this, you lock ur car using the manual key when unlocked,your alarm won't go off if you used the manual key to open it but instead if you unlock it again using the remote the alarm will go off

In case no one else has mentioned it, you can not only open your boot with the key, but (on cars sold into Australia in recent years at least), you can close it by pressing the same button. Would like to know if when the key is disabled, if you can remove the backup / manual key , then lock the electronic key in the car or boot, for when you’re at the beach and don’t want to leave the remote key on the beach while you swim, but are ok hanging the backup key around your neck or in your trunk pockets. My car won’t let me shut the boot with the electronic key in there for obvious reasons but provided you have the manual key with you, you should be able to override this . Will disabling it achieve this ?

Thanks Zeroid, once you press the unlock button on the fob it resets the key so if you unlock it it’s back to normal till you double tap again.

Great tips and cool video I wish I watched this video before I purchase my benz! It is very helpful... now I am having a dilemma and I hope you'll answer back with some resolution. I pressed my lock button a few times and it disable not just my keyless function but also folding the side mirrors when I lock the door. Any suggestion how I can reset/enable this functions again? Thanks!

Hi Mylyn, I've not come across this myself but can hopefully help. Which model and year car do you have? It may be a glitch and you just need to go into the settings inside the car menu and re-enable folding mirrors. It may also be called parking mirrors in the options.

@@ABAUTOAMG Thanks for the tip it actually works after I re-enabled the folding mirrors from the car settings. However, the keyless function is still out of commission.

Awesome video. This is not key related but I got 2019 E450 coupe with Radio presets with Sirius XM list. Before, I turned car off and then on, it would keep me on the preset lists that I can choose by scrolling up and down. Now, if BBC is playing through Preset, turn car off then on, it starts at BBC but now its in News Presets and scrolling up and down shows other news channel and not my Presets. Just annoying. Any help would be appreciated.
