Could you advise on why the "online services not available" now pops up most times making it impossible to ask "hey mercedes" anything other than the most basic functions... the A250 seemed ok for the first few weeks after collection on 17 Oct 2020. You could ask where it was born, ask it for a joke etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Awesome thanks Live Life! Just be aware the C-Class range doesn't have MBUX (the Hey Mercedes and software in this video) so it will look slightly different. But one thing this car doesn't have is that V8 growl! 💨

Thank you! Ah very nice! Not all cars can do it, it’s only models that don’t have a touchpad in the middle of the car from what I’ve seen. Those models require you to log into the app to add a second user which copies the photo across.

Really interesting set of videos, thanks Nick. I’m getting my brand new E Class Estate on 1 Sept and busy learning all the tips and tricks in readiness. I’m guessing it will have MBUX, but super interesting anyway! Particularly handy to see the parking feature in action.

Hi Adrian, Ooo exciting! It depends if you’ve ordered the facelift model or not. The new E-Class is scheduled to have a facelift kind of around about now, but due to COVID-19 the new ones might be delayed. Hard to tell but your dealership will be able to advise you!

Hi Nick, I think I have one of the last of the older ones. It’s a 2020.5 MY and I’ve heard from the dealer they have it in stock now. I’m just holding tight for a month for the 70 plate. I suspect therefore it may not have all the features. I’ll ask the dealer and check it out! The other thing I find unusual is that the centre of the two 12 inch screens isn’t a touch screen. Seems they missed a bit of a trick there, as you have to use the unusual looking touchpad/wheel instead. That said really looking forward to it, will be a fantastic car regardless and I got a cracking deal on it too :)

Yeah Adrian back when the E-Class was designed in 2015-2016 touchscreens didn’t exist in Mercedes-Benz! Now they’re cropping up everywhere! It’s still an amazing system though, even better than the one previous to that!

The pre facelift E Class doesn't have MBUX but it has the newest version of Command which is still nice in my opinion. It uses the rotary controller which is nice to use.

Hi Kate, no problem! Glad you enjoyed the video! As long as your have parking sensors, they are located on the left screen: HOME SETTINGS (far right) ASSISTANCE CAMERA & PARKING They should all be in there :)

Great info. If you could do a run through of the B-class 250e and settings to do with the hybrid system, that would be great!

I haven’t actually seen a B250e yet but it’ll have the same functionality on the hybrid system as the A 250e and B 250e which I have managed to cover. When I get my hands on one I sure will though!

Hey SDV Shaunak, No it does work but if you’re like me it might not work. It’s designed in newer cars to move the seat so you can get in and out easier. However I’m 6ft 2” so it doesn’t do anything for me. It will however move if the seat was further forward and subsequently will move back to help you get out. It can depend on some models though, in some selected cars it will only move the backrest where as some others also move the steering wheel.

Another excellent video Nick, superb as usual. Quick question, I have ordered my c class amg line premium which is due to come in September. Will this have MBUX?

Hi Sohail, Unfortunately no C-Class’s don’t have MBUX yet. My guess is that the upgrade for that would be next year or the year after. Don’t worry it’s not been confirmed yet by Mercedes-Benz so you’re all good! It’ll still feature voice commands just not the Hey Mercedes voice command.

Thank you! 🙏 Glad you enjoy them! I know you can view some element of that in the trip computers (From Start and From Reset) But not sure about total mileage. It could be that because it’s classed as one drivetrain it’ll only have history of the one mileage or in this case km. I’d suggest getting in contact with Mercedes, they might know the exact answer!

Thanks Nick for the detailed video. Just wanted to ask about Voice Amplification feature. My third passengers tell me that they can hear sometimes me on the speakers but it’s not constantly. Do I have to press anything while talking? Or is it supposed to pick up my voice automatically? Thank you

I seem to recall something like that on a V-Class a while ago when I started my channel covering Mercedes. I think I remember seeing something called Voice Amplification in settings or something? I think from memory it only had an on/off toggle though.

Hi Nick, This was a great video. I can’t wait to get back to the UK to explore it some more. I also have a question. I just wanted to find out about the screen that displays music on the left hand side. Sometimes when I’m playing Spotify the image of that track displays but other times it’s just a blue screen with the name of the song. How can I get the image of the tracks to consistently show?

Thanks Phil! I’ve seen that sometimes when using 3rd party apps like Spotify. As it runs solely off of your phone, previously when I have closed the app and relaunched it, it appears again.

Hi, Unfortunately not as technology increases in cars with their safety systems, it means that they’re now switched on as standard to keep drivers safe. Same applies to ESP (Electronic Sat iLife Program & ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System). Don’t forget though when you indicate it switches of the system for a few seconds so you can go over the lane without it braking.

You should be able to! I’m sure from memory you can do that on the EQC 🤓 If not, it’ll always be displayed at the top anyway

Great video. Any chance you could show the 'Media' functions? My 2016 A-class can only display about 5 characters of the filename! Is the new MBUX A-class any better?

Hey Scott honestly hadn’t looked at the number of characters for a track name but usually it’s quite short on car displays Is this for content on a USB stick for example?

Hi Freddy Lumbu, Sorry I haven’t seen one with the MBUX tablet. The GLS in the video is the first that I’ve seen! :( If I see one in the future I’ll do a video on one!

You can actually do it on Honda Civic's post 2012. I had a 2.2 Diesel and you could upload jpegs as screensavers. Looks like it's the one obvious thing MB have forgotten!! @@npoleary

Nick, can you do a video on UK Radio settings? and perhaps cover other media? Good example would be driving from Poole to the M25 listening to Heart Radio and changing to each different Heart station as you progress along the journey

Hi Mike, All Mercedes-Benz will auto tune their DAB radios as you travel round the country etc. So you should be able to see the station you need right next to it. Hope that answers your question!

Hey Anthony, what model of Mercedes do you have, I’m sure most of them have an unlock/lock button right next to the handle on your side :) If you don’t want it enabled, in most Mercedes-Benz you can switch it off.

Great presentation , however I was wondering if you can suggest if I can change a GLE ‘s allow wheels of 20 inch to a 21 or 22 inch Mercedes original alloy wheels without having air suspension installed in the vehicle . Thx.

Hey Arshad, I’ve been advised in the past to double and triple check if you’re considering doing something like that. Of course the suspension set up, but your fuel efficiency and emissions may take a hit too so bear this in mind. You’ll have to get a dealership to advise what the best course of action is and what options to consider. Hope that helps!
