For looks and finance, yeah, a lot of young people might want to lower their standards, but the standards for how you deserve to be talked to or about and the standards for how you are treated as a whole shouldn't be lowered unless you're wanting someone to compromise their own wellbeing to make your wellbeing their primary responsibility.
