Dock her pay until all her illegal expenses on tax payers assets are paid back. Not a percentage of her salary… her ENTIRE salary until paid in full.

Past mayors DIDN'T act like a mafia DON like she does. She knew that she couldn't spend the night there, but she did it anyway. Senator Kennedy says that she's LOOSELY the mayor. She's supposed to hire a new Police Chief with the help of the city council, but she's breaking that law too. You can't have a mayor breaking laws like criminals do.

Not only she doesn't obey the law, how does she expect others to do so?! What was that apartment actually supposed to be for if it wasn't for people to stay at? That mayor can't keep her city in control (I love NOLA and it was my home for 10 yrs - I want to go back but the place is a mess!) with its crime and murder rate - if she doesn't obey the law - what makes her think anyone else will!?

Exactly and she's the one that's not obeying the law herself and unfortunately that's why the city of New Orleans is still in a mess right now because of the crime rates

She’s an old school gangsta! It’s part of her heritage and she doesn’t try to hide it! You must understand that she has to be above the law to bless her people! Most all of our politicians go to jail before they step down, it’s part of our heritage!

Too many politicians with distorted sense of power in this country.

My husband is probably the longest running Pontalba rental tenant (on and off - close to 50 years). He assures me - the custom of allowing sitting Mayors and Governors the use of an apartment (respectively: Lower Pontabla - on St. Ann for the Gov; and Upper Pontalba - on St. Peter for the Mayor), dates back long before Dutch Morial. If the rules are to be changed in regard to this more than century old courtesy tradition - then let French Market Management make that decision. They are our landlords on this side of Jackson Square. I'm from NYC and, even I know that. Like, or dislike the Mayor as you please. I couldn't care less. But at least do your homework, people. If she’s coming there after 12:01 am in the morning and leaving the same morning then she is not staying overnight, that’s not technically a overnight stay. Google definition of overnight stay and you will see she is not breaking any new laws, due to her coming and going the same calendar day.
