The ambient lighting idea was first introduced on the 2005 S-Class W221 model series the idea behind it was to provide a more relaxing atmosphere for the driver and passengers and to light up the interior so you would not be driving in a dark car.

I don't think I've ever liked the exterior design of a Maybach, but I think this is their worst. The interior is beautiful as ever but surely there is more rear leg space in the saloon.

Yea the engines are at least 70% of what made these cars special. Knowing that it took a lot of work to build that big V12 gave you a sense that the car was special. I'm really not sure what makes these generic electric powertrains special enough to justify the high cost of this vehicle.

If Maybach wants to sell that red/black car from 2021 I can buy it for 300k euros. For this car I don't give nothing.

Sounded more like an advert that car journalism. The way they talk up some of the features, that are extremely dull/or obnoxiously ostentatious, just because they have their rep there, seems very disingenuous. There may some people who genuinely like the styling and features, but the polite way to phrase it is "contentious" or "polarising", because I'd wager there are a lot of people who don't like it and think it's a waste, myself included.

Mercedes said they're doing away with the EQS platform. I guess this will be the last of the EQS brand of electronic vehicles.

It looks like a fat MPV, not a 2023 'SUV! If it didn't have the name 'Maybach' I'm sure it would get ridiculed.

Wow, I love press kit bullet points being read out to me. everything between 6-8 minutes in the video is utter BS and makes absolutely no sense.

"Understated IS the BEST statement..." (Copyright 2023 - me! hahaha) Nah.. I'd pass.. If I had the money.. It would still be a nope, I'd rather go with the proper 'Roller' or Bentley... Don't like the looks of the thing either. And I think Mercedes/Maybach are trying TOO hard with branding everywhere. With a Rolls Royce or Bentley, you DON'T NEED to repeatedly state who you are, you just have the delightful lady on your bonnet/hood, the self righting logos on the wheels and that's pretty much it, Bentley is the same... Maybach? Logo, logo brand, logo, brand, logo and more logos.... 😎🇬🇧

This car, like the other Mercedes EVs, does NOT look good. In my opinion not even decent.. Other than that no big difference to an EQS.

I can’t get excited about this car. Aesthetically it does nothing for me, not even a chubby. As far as I can tell, they’ve put lipstick on a pig and added some trinkets.

Looks like they are aiming at Lexus with the vulgarity of the exterior design. I'm sure the important Chinese market is part of the reason that these designs are moving away from the clean and purer shapes that used to be more prevalent in Europe.

To be honest between electric german cars Audi makes it good and beautiful

I'm in the UK and, to me when I look when I'm driving, it appears it's mostly South Asians (Indians, Pakistanis etc.) that drive Mercs (and rarely new models).

It's going to cost well over £200,000 if you look back on other previous Maybach models against their equivalent Mercedes siblings. And I'm not sure that I'd call the rear seating _classy!_ Chintzy springs to mind.

I was wondering why Alex Legouix was pronouncing Maybach with a breathy "Bach", instead of the usual "May-back" or "My-back", until I saw the Mercedes snake oil salesman just off camera🐍😂. I agree Mercedes is truly dead.

These class of cars are exclusively for the multinationals...... so not for the type of audience like us normal citizens. For us its just Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Porsche, DS and so on when we want luxury for an afforable pricetag.....

The MB Electric vehicles don't look good at all.

Sorry, the last brand I'd think of given the look of this - the grill, the tacky plastic chrome trim everywhere. Rolls Royce / Bentley leave this brand standing.
