In regards to the pond and dream stream, a couple of things, 1. Do not install that 2nd ion gen. That amount of copper being released is not recommended. One on 10 is fine. Not two on 10. 2. Do not feed the fish again til the algae is gone. It'll make them eat the algae faster. Also, watch the amount you feed them because their waste is part of the balance. 3. Net out what you can daily until it is under control. 4. Pond plants. More pond plants. 5. Go ahead with the Dream stream. The larger the body of water is, the easier it is to control the balance. The smaller, the more difficult. Adding the stream will increase the total volume of water. 6. You need more flow and water movement. The waterfall is supposed to oxygenate the water, but if it's not strong enough, it does not turn up the water enough when it falls into the pond. Your pump should be variable. Try turning it up to the higher setting. Plus, the Dream Stream will be adding another waterfall into the pond, so that'll help. 7. Contact Brian or Ed directly. They can confirm all this for you. I'm sure Chris is a nice fellow. But his idea of adding a second ion gen shows his lack of experience and knowledge. Hang in there. Don't get discouraged. Trust me. It'll all be worth it once the pond finds its stride. Thanks for the long tour. Everything looks gorgeous. ❤

I agree with the concepts that the fish are more than likely being overfed and also, just like an aquarium, the more water the better as far as balance
I love how the two of you can freely express differing opinions yet consistently remain respectful of each other.
I love seeing the cozy coop and tricycle in the background of the tour. IMO, they add such a sweetness! You can imagine the children riding, playing, and bringing laughter. A precious family, what more would one want in life?
There is no such thing as too long of a video from Aaron & Laura! I loved every moment of it. Thank you both and as always, a big shout out to Paul & Bethany for the amazing work they do
I'M so happy that both Laura and Aaron are tag teaming the tours now. Keep up the good work . We love it . 🌻💐🏵🌹🌼

I love that we stopped to watch Russell
Aaron, I loved the close-ups, right to the flowers and foliage you did at the beginning of the tour when Laura asked you to. That's one amazing camera. Please do that again during the June tour 😊
We had to say goodbye to our beloved dog Ranger last night. He was 15. It’s obviously been a really rough morning and I needed a break from all the sadness. Garden Answer to the rescue and a long video at that. It may seem like a small thing but thank you for being such a positive experience. I’ve followed you for years and this video is just the hug I needed.

I love the artichokes. The shape and structure of the foliage and the fact that it is producing is so awesome. How many people ever accomplish that. You just don’t see artichokes growing like that. What is the Ursula type structure/bush at 51.20 (approx.)?
Just love how Russell follows you everywhere. He is so adorable ❤❤❤

Russell truly adores Laura ❣️ you can see it especially in her sit down videos. He climbs up by whatever means available and just stares at her lovingly while waiting for his pets ✨❣️✨
Don’t ask me if this video made me go buy a couple plants for two specific containers flanking my driveway…don’t do it! 😂😂 of course I did!! It’s my first full season of gardening and I’m absolutely loving anything involving plants. I’m hooked and thanks to you guys I’ve learned so much and have already had so much success. Great tour you two, much love from Tennessee!
Who would not love to have their house close to the Garden Answer property, bonus!! Don't be discouraged about the pond. It is a good learning experience for everyone involved and watching it progress. It will get there and you will be able to look back on it and remember how far it has come like all of your other successful projects.
Nepeta = catmint = that is why Russell is all beside himself! Online it says catmint can trigger strange behaviors, as we see with the adorable Russell. So cute!

I really really enjoyed these last 2 garden tour videos. Hearing Laura and Aaron discuss possible plantings and plans is enjoyable. It gives insight to how ideas come about. Then I think of possible ideas for our garden. I really enjoy seeing everything grow. Also gives insight to ideas in my garden.
You 2 crack me up! Caressing the artichokes while “convincing “ Aaron how wonderful they are and letting all of us mourn the loss of the beautiful branch of the climbing rose.

My new hobby is checking out the garden centers - Thank you, Laura and Aaron's for sharing your life with us!

I love, love, love watching Laura, Aaron and family in and around the garden. You all have done such a tremendous job. I always have a note pad handy for the plants I want to research for my growing zone of 5b. This morning I wrote down verbascum, hardy geraniums, and lamium! Back to the nursery I go! I also want to thank all the behind the scenes people! It takes a village!
Clicked on this so fast …. 90+ minute Laura Garden Tour? Yes please ….💚
Here is what I love about your videos. It’s going to be an hour but it 0-60 all the way through. I try to watch so many videos that the whole first half is the person telling you what they are going to show you , tell you, teach you-then they finally get on with it. Not our Laura. Very briefly - in about three sentences , she says this is todays video and then away we go and you darned well better keep up with her and it’s usually jam packed with ‘pretty’ and informational. Love it. I have never had one boring moment. So glad to see that wonderful hollyhock again. Please please please show it when it’s in bloom. It’s the most beautiful flower.

Russell is reacting to the cats pajamas. It is a mint and that is why they call it cat mint. They adore it and it makes them super friskey ! my cat loves it when I bring some inside for her. She rolls all over it and even eats the leaves.
Those artichokes in that location are EVERYTHING
Always impressed that Laura can remember the names of all the plants! Not only remembers the name but the stats on them. Amazing!
Russell was reacting to the Nepeta. It's like a special treat for cats to smell, roll in & nibble. My cat has the same reaction and also goes crazy over the scent of peppermint!😂 Beautiful tour, as always.😊
What a gift Laura has the eye for design! Here I sit with a notebook and pen about to jot down all the plants I need for my small garden All the 4 season interest, Wine- Ninebark, Nepeta, hydrangeas, roses! Lord a girl can dream😊
Laura I love how you always like areas of the property to look clean. It’s so nice for the neighbours to look at too and you are always so considerate of them. 💕 Everything is coming along so beautifully!

We had a pond SO FULL OF THIS STUFF ( 3 ponds, actually ) so I made up Barley Straw flakes (2 ea) placed in fine mesh onion bags and let them float around gathering the string alage. Within 3 weeks, I removed them and crystal clear ! Keep a few made up in case you see it coming back. Teather them to where you can get to. MUST USE BARLEY STRAW ONLY. They do sell a barley conditioner you can pour into the main filter also. Does not hurt fish. I WAS AMAZED at how quickly it cleared.

🌿💗 I've never owned nor maintained a pond, but was a biology major and just remember a lot of truths about ecosystems, etc. Moreover, I am very intuitive and just feel that the pond is very new and like we've all been informed, will just take a little time to balance out. Be encouraged, trust the organic route, do what you can manually, and stay on top of the "situation" vs. "problem." We are all often disappointed when the performance or delight we seek/expect is not instant. Otherwise, you have shared a million points of pure bliss during this tour and we are proud of what you accomplish each season and share. 💗🌿
Super long but super fun. It was nice to have Aaron take part of the tour. I would be feeling the same about the dream stream….get the algae dialled in before making it bigger.

Russell is so awesome, he made me laugh out loud ❤
Thank you SOOO MUCH for sharing your beautiful property and home with this channel. There just are no words to adequately explain the botanical therapy it gives to me!!! The scope of your work is enormous, and so very educational as well. The few plants I have ( due to harsh growing conditions at my home) are all plants you showcased. Also, I purchased the garden hose, the green stalk, some tools, etc. and some other things you recommended , and all of those purchases have served me well. I am a true believer in the wealth of knowledge you share on Garden Answer 🥰
it took our pond a couple seasons to ecologically balance itself out for the algae to dissipate. Holding back feeding the fish and letting them eat the string algae helps. Some seasons have more rain, more sun, more shade - all of these things affect how a pond reacts. Patience is key.
OMG that huge peony!!! Star of the show! And thank you Aaron for getting a close up of the blooms! I live for the bloom close ups during garden tours ❤
I love how Russell follows you round the garden. What a great little buddy 🐱 💕🐱
I understand how you feel about the algae in the pond. We have a pond, and also had awful string algae for several years. We now have a clear pond and I love it. I was just about ready to get rid of the pond due to the algae. Once we had some shade trees get big enough to shade part of the pond, and also water lilies, our pond is clear. We do not have to use any chemicals in the pond, and the fish and frogs love it. I know it tests your patience, but it will eventually clear up.
I loved seeing your thought process as you talked about the hedge. You're going to keep them, then you're not. Just how you talked that whole part out makes me feel good about how long it takes me to make changes. Whatever you choose, it'll be amazing.
You’ve probably considered this, but what about a shade canopy, for a short term solution while working to eradicate the string algae. Like a shade sail to help with the algae( not permanent structure). I have 2 small garden ponds and an acre pond. In the smaller ponds the water lilies definitely help with the sun. In the larger pond , it’s almost 45 yrs old, all the trees around help to stop algae growth. Love your channel, very inspirational, thank you.
Lovvvvve the artichokes! They look so perfectly in keeping with the botanical aesthetic. It makes the Hartley look like a dream estate garden sketch! All great garden structures have some interesting plantings like that; and artichokes are such a classic and ancient symbol of garden hope and bounty and prosperity. The Hartley needs drama and substance or it could quickly dink out and go, “golf course” look. I also applaud keeping the banking, potted evergreens - those and the artichokes or something equally substantial - it makes your greenhouse look like it wasn’t just plunked down there. It’s so incredibly beautiful and watching it evolving is so inspirational!
@annehedlund7333

I never realized how close the residential housing area that was going in was to your house. Definitely need to put in some tall evergreens in that area.
I always look at how long the video is before I watch. Thank you for a long video. I love spending time with your wonderful family.
It's catnip, Laura! Russell in the nepeta, nepeta is catnip, which was why he was acting cra cra 😂 There's a reason it's called The Cat's Pajamas/ The Cat's Meow 🤩
Drinking an entire pot of coffee while watching vs one cup!
I love the artichokes. I thinking yummy artichoke dip. You definitely have plenty for it.
I have a little goldfish pond that isn’t anywhere near the scale of yours, but I go through the string algae stage every year about this time. In a couple of more weeks, the sun moves enough and my plantings get high enough to shade it and it helps so much. So, for now I just take about 10 minutes every weekend to scoop it out and know it will be cleared up soon. Don’t give up. It’s beautiful and to me watching the fish is just so peaceful. 😊
Is it just me and my eyeballs - this video quality is on point so crystal clear and vibrant

Woohoo!!! 90 minutes of beauty by GA/Laura and Aaron! It’s gonna be a great day!
Your garden has come such a long way! 😮 Hostas are beautiful…if I ever had a garden I’d love those. The layout, brick/stones etc remind me of a British castle garden mixed with a Roman garden. Everything is such a pretty space. I like seeing everything, so even the dumpster 👍🏼 I’ve always loved the pine trees that look Teal. No idea what they’re called. Barberries; never heard of those! 😮 sound great. I’ve also heard apple mint from other channels. 😍 so I love hearing of things I’ve never noticed existed before. “Blue spruce”…thank you ❤ I’m REALLY looking forward to a picking your produce video. 🎉
It was a beautiful tour. Thanks for sharing you trials as well (i.e., the pond, etc.) makes us feel like we too are doing okay in our yards and gardens despite it all!!

Oh my goodness I am totally the same way, I can’t stop watching a garden tour! Sometimes I get interrupted and have to pause but I always come back to finish it! These videos could be as long as you so choose to film and we will watch. I also take notes, open another window and google where to buy certain plants and seeds! I love it, it’s real life, plants do their things and some thrive… tooooo much, some bale and have to be replaced! 😂😂😂🤣
Love the Russell snippet….he’s getting a buzz from the Nepeta. I once had a cat that use to lay in mine. Just want to say how beautiful the paint job on the house looks at 13:47. Plus the Verbascum & Ginger wine NB is stunning.😊
The Yello & black Iris are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL TOGETHER. Wow, what a beautiful color contrast together. Please leave them!!

Hey there...watching your video now, and we are out here in Cincinnati, OH in zone 6a-b. Anyway, many Blue Spruce trees and shrubs in this area are experiencing something called Rhizosphaera needle cast which is a fungal disease. It seemingly starts at the bottom with the loss of needles and proceeds upwards on the tree until there are no needles left. Unfortunately, we found out too late and lost a 20 footer as did our neighbor across the street a couple of years ago. I know u may be in a different zone and hopefully it isn't needle cast, but I thought I'd mention it. Anyway, my wife and I love your show, and your property looks great. Have a wonderful evening.
Such a beautiful view overlooking the cow pasture. 🌸
Russell is always my favorite part of the videos 😻

This was a fantastic, long update video! Thank you two for taking us through the whole yard. I’ve watched all your trees be planted and am amazed how well they’re doing! Everything is just so beautiful!❤❤❤
