Don''t be too distracted by his unreal technique and speed alone : musically and lyrically, the way this solo rides the chords is gorgeous.

When it comes to the world of virtuosos we hear so much shit that has been done before,max is definitely in the realm of actually fresh.

I think deep deep deep inside he's having fun... This young man deserves this so much. Maestro Max, all thumbs up.

Nope, you can't. It doesn't work like that, this kind of level it's not something you can reach just because you want to. He doesn't even look at the guitar and do all that crazy stuff it's just too natural. It's like saying everyone can be a genius like Einstein or Tesla.

​@@worldaswar3784 I know what you mean because I've been through the same but as musician you know what a meant as well. He took a simple backing track and made an instrumental song from it and all of this at age 16. He made an Intro, a first verse, then a chorus, and finally the second verse and the ending. This is in another level, you know how hard it's to compose something from scratch and make it sound natural.

Selecting just a segment of this, from 01:03 to 01:10 we see such prodigious control, such incredible touch, soul, a flowing and totally expressive technique, it's just a thing of beauty and I don't know how much Max is somehow genetically predisposed towards music or guitar in particular, but just hugely impressed and I can't even imagine playing at that level.

He is really amazing, but this "this guitarists is the absolute best ever" stuff is so oversaid. People are saying this about so many different guitarist that it should become obvious by now there is not such thing as "the best musician" or "the best guitarist". It's not the 100m sprint. It's music, it's conveying emotions. There can be no best of all. It's all about finding your own voice as a musician and becoming unique. Stop making it a competition, it's just not.

This kid will become the reigning guitar virtuoso on the planet......if he's not already there now! I don't see Vai doing anything that this kid cannot. This kid will eat Yngwie for lunch, literally. He can play every note Yngwie has ever done....and that's less than 5% of his impressive skill set.

@@NurseryCryme ofc it is. The switch from groovy funkesque soloing to fast phrasing, the transitions and everything in between. The "approach" is the same. Now when max is producing he is basically going from lick to lick with this transition in mind.

Damn, that’s truly wild. His fingers move like someone who’s been playing for 30 years. There’s this fluidity to his playing, and he doesn’t waste any extra energy. His picking his practically flawless. It hits just enough to help create the sound but no more. I’m hoping to get to this one day

He’s really turning into my favorite newcomer that uses a pick! Haha. He’s moving fast - combining many different moments that are working well together.

I mean, the pickup switchs starting for the legato run from 1:06 to 1:12 and then continuing is just so smooth and effortless.

Is like he has 1000 Years playing. What a phrasing and mature approach to improvisation!!! Great Max.
