This is one of the first times I've been interested in watching the picking hand than the fretting hand. His picking is damn good.
Incredible
Brilliant fusion style guitar. Absolute mastery of technique on every level. Guitar tone is sweet too.
Another level from human. How is it even possible?
Love the hide-a-pick! Always on fire Max!

That part where he switched to major at the beginning kicked so much ass and was super tasty, not a dull moment in this whole track, and there wasnt a moment where technique was being used to show off instead of serving the track. Max is even better than we all already knew he is

this young man and his ability to channel the spirit of any guitarist he wishes truly inspires me to never pick up an instrument again

I don't even know where to begin. Crazy tasteful licks, never needs to look at fretting hand, picking hand never moving a millimeter more than it needs to. This doesn't even look like it's remotely challenging for him. Incredible, dude.

I'm guessing that he has been practicing 14 hours a day since he was what... 3 years old? I'm totally blown away by this kid. Just amazing talent! And I really love the things that he says with his guitar! I could listen to him play all day! Go Max!!!
@ill647
2 жыл бұрын
@@1QuadControl He started playing when he was about 9 and a half years old, but he was only playing three chords with his fingers until about 12-13 years old, and it was only after about three years, about 12-13 years old, that he started practicing 6 - 12 hours a day, and within a year he could learn to play scarified even though he didn't even hold a pick before that. In my opinion, it is a genetic talent, in one year learn how to play scarified even practicing 12 hours a day - it is almost a miracle, I, for example, do not practice much less, but at the same time I will hardly ever be able to play such compositions, and such guitarists as Max Ostro very de-motivated me, I started to play guitar at 18 and he is playing at 16 like I never will (despite the fact that I have been practicing 6-12 hours a day for several years and continue to do so, and have been doing it correctly, observing all the technical points of guitar technique).
@1QuadControl
2 жыл бұрын
@@ill647 How did you learn that about his early years? Just curious... but I hear you! I have a small amount of natural talent for the guitar, and I don't practice much any more, but even if I did... I don't think that I could get close to Max's abilities. He has a true gift... and I agree with you, it's in his genes. He hears these wonderful lines flowing in his head a few milliseconds before its time to play them... and then they just flow out of his finger tips! It's an awesome magic! I haven't done much guitar playing in the last 20 years, and I feel bad about that. I have a pretty cool home studio setup (that sadly is in a storage garage at this moment) that is a lot of fun to mess around with. It's old school... 64 channel console with flying faders and full automation, 24 track hard disk, and a bunch of rack mount effects, etc. But I've been watching more videos on guitar players lately, and I'm getting a little inspired to play more. In fact, I just bought a PRS DW CE24 the other day! The blue burst one... It's pretty nice. Don't let players like Max get you down though... it's still fun to write a song, and lay down some tracks that sound decent! I hope that some day, I'll get my studio set up again.

This amazing perform...
Something brand-new and unseen started with Max! The best guitar players before Max typically employed a two-note solo in a pentatonic scale or a hybrid scale. After Max, the same turn would be a more intricate 12-note and even more musical journey towards the same feeling but articulated in a much more profound and harmonious way than it was for all players of the past. He never plays mechanical, clinical scale notes; rather, he brings to the surface emotions that are buried deep inside a musician's soul and yearn to be expressed in order to express a sublime journey and what the heart truly desires. Max never allows the notes to abruptly change from one to the next or to be merely crammed into scalar forms. Instead, it's consistently the most musical and longing form of musical expression. It's a true turning point for the guitar.
