never understood why hunters use rifles to hunt down big cats.. all you need is a couple of boxes laid out.. wait a few hours and just pick the lions, tigers n other cats up..

HupfDole87 truth!!! I had to "catch" one of my cats to take her to the vet and i set a "trap" of paper and catnip in a box. worked like a charm!!! lol!

Just what I was thinking. He doesn't seem particularly 'wild' - he comes on just like a regular domesticated cat, only a lot bigger. Though I expect the wild side would come out quickly if anybody started 'taking liberties'.

Yep there is no need to domesticate wild cats. We get the same package in a house cat. I'm sure my cat think he is super big and powerful all the time ~

That body structure is like a dog. What unique breed with outstanding and distinct features. Cats always make me smile, especially with the innocence they display when playing with objects. They really are simple and special creatures.

My 2 cats love that paper that comes in the packages, plus the boxes, they love the noise and movement it makes, they run and slide under it. My apartment looks like a mad house when they start playing, but they always get their way.

Dunno why, but I find theses Lynxes to be very mature and understanding in comparison to other cats.

Dave Haynes - Yep, cats don't like to be taunted and do get even. When Max pops me one, it's without claws too. Funny how they know.

He is just gorgeous! I wish I was able to keep one, but it's not practical for me, but I'm happy with my 2 regular cats :) As for the people saying she's being too bossy, you need to understand that this is a wild animal, no matter how tame he might seem, and is very dominant on his own. He needs someone to show him dominance and discipline otherwise he would be impossible to handle and control. Max is respecting her because she is authoritative, but in a loving way. He most likely sees her as alpha female. Believe me, if she wasn't this way with him, he would overtake her because he would sense weakness if she showed any sign of being timid around him, and being an ambassador, he needs to be safe around other people. She is doing a wonderful job being his human mom. You need to know what you're doing to be able to handle a big cat like this, and she absolutely knows what she's doing.

Well, while I understand your point of view and I respect that, you have to remember that, even though she is showing dominance, there has to be a fair level of respect for the animal as well. If you are too imposing, that then could very well be mistaken by the animal as being threatening and too aggressive. Cats - including domestics - are prone to retaliate against aggression and dominance, and that in itself could pose a risk to her safety as well. I have a cat who is a Bengal /Tabby cross and she has some aggressive tendencies (she was an abandoned kitten with trust issues when I found her) and if I were to be too imposing, she would become aggressive towards me, but being less dominant and more loving, it made her more loving in return, so I'm speaking from my own experiences in that regard. There is a fine line where you have to balance authority and aggression with passiveness and I think Max's owner has managed to maintain that. Max respects her authority and there is love there. If she were too imposing, the trust would not be there from him, which could lead to more aggression, and therefore lead to attacks... not something you want from a large animal with sharp claws and teeth!

You might be arguing as much as you want guys, but this animal is the ultimate illustration of feline beauty. It doesn't matter that his life took unexpected turns and that he's now living like an upscaled pet, far from the great, wild outdoors. The fact of the matter is that his situation gives us plenty of opportunities to marvel at his majesty by just watching him be. Plus, Max seems to be getting a lot of (well deserved) attention. Doesn't seem to turn sour or mad at all.

It IS difficult at times because he loves to be petted and I can't keep my face out of his fur. But his energy.... wow. Max plays hard but then like every cat... no attention span and he sleeps a lot, too. :)
