I'm a wildlife educator with common exotic animals and one Canada Lynx. All are ambassadors educating the public locally. I possess a federal and state license to exhibit and educate with these animals. My videos are either training videos with Maxwell (Max) in the beginning or just fun videos of my animals. Please understand that Max is comfortable on a leash and knows commands. It allows me the opportunity to bring him out of his exhibit cage during educational presentations. This is a safe way for him to receive enrichment on our property.

I often hear, "wild animals belong in the wild." What happens when there is no "wild" left? When the wild is gone, there are two options: captivity or extinction. Also, once born into captivity, an animal cannot be released into the wild.

@powskier - His kind, the Canada Lynx, do roam the mountains but 75% of their diet is snowshoe hare. It is legal to trap them for their fur. Max, on the other hand was born in captivity and is not a rehabilitated wild animal. Humans have always cared for him and therefore he was not taught how to hunt by his cat mom. He is protected from hunting and has a pancreas disorder which is treated with daily enzymes. Releasing him would be a death sentence.
One happy lynx, they don’t get this kind of treatment in the wild. A box of their own a full tummy and all the petting they can stand. Beautiful purr.

How does it feel to have this cat for 13 years
@lookout_gamer127notjustlookout - Sometimes it doesn't feel real. We snuggle and it seems like yesterday he was a wild little baby! Also, I know that our time is growing shorter as he ages although I try not to give that too much thought.
