Obviously it's not only parenthood involvement but I think it's very well documented that it's a very important factor.

I’m Italian and I’ve known his dad Vincenzo Mancuso from his work with some Italian artist as a lead guitarist. I’ve always loved his style and his phrasing. He’s obviously technically less skilled than his son but what Matteo can still learn from his dad is a bit of warmth and research for that melodic feel that his dad always had in his solos. I’m so happy for his dad and happy that Matteo is clearly still enjoying playing with his old man.

Undoubtedly, the son has a lot of skill, but the technique that the father demonstrated in this video is simply spectacular. I enjoyed every improvised note he played. It was truly impressive.

Me too I’m a guitar player and I had a guitar in my son’s hand from the day he could hold it. He’s 18 years old now and not because he’s my son, but he is an outstanding guitar player.

That is what life is all about. What a great relationship they share. Great father and great son.

Matteo is a beast, no freaking doubt about it. Shredding it out and pulling cool and crazy scales. Super performance. BUT THE DAD! Holy smokes. He may not be a virtuos like his kid but I can hear the wisdom in his musicality. Great choices and phrases, loved it.

I would already be happy to play like his dad!..

you can hear his wisdom & experience trough his playing. He also plays the spaces between the notes - he's not overplaying it - of corse, it is NAMM, it's mainly an exhibition were everyone likes to shine to play as much notes as possible.

His father is so melodic, my favorite characteristic in musicians, a lot play for ego, and just want to shred and sometimes forget of the soul music and melody, the feeling is all

The coolest thing about MM’s videos - it’s all about the music and playing the music as well as possible - no distractions about guitar brands, the hottest pedals, what string gauges, etc. - refreshing!

Vinnie is a very well known professional player for most famous artists in italy (at least). And I believe the Gibson SG Matteo was using earlier was actually HIS gibson haha . But he uses PRS since years. GRANDE VINNIE!!

It's a nice thought, that u are almost 100% guaranteed that there is 0 ego to take away from the piece itself, with a good familial bond like this

Matteo is a total guitar player. Rock, Pop, Blues, Jazz you name it he can play it all. Such a wonderful guitar player and so much fun to watch and listen to.

Some of the most enjoyable music I’ve heard from Matteo. When he holds back from shredding for the sake of shredding, he’s very musical.

This brings literal tears of joy. Such a wonderful father-son bond.

Vinnie "spoke" little, but so deeply that I have no words to express my admiration!!!!

Fantastic - nice to see Matteo's dad.

So sweet. This young man owes only the debt of excellence to his father. Matteo is amazing, young, always overplaying and Vincente is patient, intimate with the circle of fifths and circle of life❤❤

His picking is certainly unique, but the thing that blows my mind is how he constantly plays notes that surprise and delight the ear, with such effortless precision. His father is a great player as well. This was a treat to watch!

I love watching them talk without using words. If I ever have kids I'd hope to have that connection. Also, Matteo makes us Sicilian-Americans proud :)

I can relate. My father hated me because I was funnier and smarter than him. And he never changed. As I got older I saw him as a very insecure person. It's a pleasure to watch this - the way it can be.

Vincenzo is a great player. I would love to see more of his work. Every note is a beam of insightful color . ❤ he’s obviously the greatest teacher on the planet.

@@keremeye My kids understand music theory better than myself, I played mostly by ear my entire life. They’ve all developed really well at both learning by ear, and reading notation. I’ve never learned to read music, just tabs. I’m very proud of them, they’ve surpassed me in the things that I wished I had done. 😉👍

With good music, no costumes are required. This is wonderful. Playing one of my first shows, I dropped may pick and foolsihly paused and picked it up. I should have trusted my hand, as I now do, and left the pick on the stage floor where it knew it belonged.
