Great channel and extremely helpful content. Just started taking padel classes, however, I learn more from Sandy than from my actual classes. The irony is that the one who helps me most is the one that is free.

Hi Sandy, Great content!!! I started playing in November and because we are in lockdown playing Padel has been limited and there are no lessons to be taken. Thanks so much for posting these great video's. It's been a great help thus far while not being on the court!

Great video, Sandy, with some really useful pointers. I’m lucky enough to play a lot of padel, and with coaching, lots of competitive play and advice like your Padel School, it’s interesting and enjoyable to realise how one’s game improves over time. Nevertheless there are still lots of points here that strike a chord, such as ‘split-step’, EVERY time….it’s so easy to relax, get lazy, and get passed because I’m not already up on my toes! Also anticipating the next shot and moving now, not when the opponent hits it, always shifting the weight on your feet not just standing flat-footed mid-rally. I keep steering anyone new joining our club (we get quite a few English visitors here) towards your videos, not sure how many listen, but it’s their loss! Certainly, a lot of Spanish and Italian friends here enjoy them! Thanks again.

Thank you for supporting and suggesting the videos! Word of mouth is the best compliment! I agree with the split step - constantly repetition is needed to make it natural!

Great analysis. Keep the good work. One thing to mention, specially if the people who submitted the people read this, watch your foot work. Sandy makes an excellent point about been faster with your preparation. Get into a best position you can depending on where the ball is on your opponents side, then try doing a split step just as the opponent is about to hit the ball. This will help you react faster to the upcoming ball and gain a valuable second or two to get to the ball and be better prepared. 3 small steps to prepare are better than one big one. Sandy has a good video about this. Sandy, great job as always! Keep it up!

Great video! I'm kind of at this level I think, so it's nice to see them playing an okay match because their skills are similar, whilst getting the analysis of how they can improve. This could have been quite a negative video, what with how much they are doing 'wrong' but it's really constructive feedback instead :)

Hi Sandy! Thanks for your videos. On beginner level I often face that players, especcially coming from tennis playing pretty fast low balls to each other while both teams are on the back line and nobody is moving forward to the net, everybody is affraid to rush to the net and miss the ball passing him. Such point usually ends when somebody makes a mistake, like hitting the net our out. How should I act in such situation to gain and advantage? for example when I receive a low ball into my feet on the back line and the opponent team keeps standing on their backline too, should i return the same low ball to his feet on the backline and try to rush to the net or what is the plan? Thanks a lot in advance!

Interesting that the pair in blue and orange shorts are playing opposite to what is normally recommended for a right hand/left hand pair. This way they are both defending the middle of the court with their backhands making them very vulnerable to lobs down the middle of the court. The lobs don't even have to be very good since they are unlikely to be able to punish them with "backhand smashes". If they were positioned the other way around they would both defend the middle with their forehands, which should be preferred in general, I would imagine.

Completely agree (and another reason I would put them in the beginner category)...

Thanks for the vid Sandy. I am actually somewhat surprised that you regard these players as "high beginner". Based on the video they look sort of decent to me, like maybe low intermediate. I have for a while regarded myself as an intermediate but I don't think that I am THAT much better than these guys. Or maybe it's just that the people at my club suck, lol. :-)

Interestingly enough I thought the opposite. I consider myself a beginner and I think I play better than they do. I guess it depends on how you look at the scale :) if there are only beginner intermediate and advanced than I would definitely say they are on the beginner bracket

It’s sooooo difficult putting players into categories, even in the same country, imagine internationally. So players will find this level beginners and other intermediate, so I do my best to be as objective and accurate as I can! 👍

@@tiagospinola2102 LOL, yeah. I guess in Spain my level would be regarded as beginner. But in Denmark, where the sport was basically non-existent 3 years ago, I'm pretty good and infact one of the best at my small club, so I like to call myself an intermediate. Everything is relative. I have only played for like two years, but had 30 years of experience playing tennis (and quite a bit of Badminton as well) at a decent level prior to that, so I have plenty of experience with racket sports. I do have some glaring holes in my game. My flat shots still aren't where I want them to be, as I prefer to slice (which I do very well) and I still don't defend the walls well enough. I should also improve my overhead game. My footwork, preparation, positioning, serve, volleys and slice shots are all solid though. Lobs are decent, but probably needs to be better against quality opposition (not an issue yet). I also make very few unforced errors outside of mishitting an overhead here and there. Overall I am almost certainly better than the players in this video, but probably not by a mile. Hard to say when you haven't seen yourself on video.

Just went back and watched one on Sandys intermediate analysis videos from last year and those guys are at least as good as me and probably a bit better overall, so I guess I am low intermediate after all, or mayyybe intermediate on a good day.
