Back in '96 I was trying to keep pace with what the pro's were doing, and I have a disgusting medical history to prove it. I'm almost 40 now, and I look back on Mat and even myself and think that there's never going to be harder men that would pioneer a sport than guys like us at the time we were doing this. I can't imagine what will push humans higher or farther than taking the slams of riding vert, street, or just going for house clearing big air moments in the 90's. I'm a road map of scars and surgery, disfigured joints and digits, and I wouldn't trade a moment of that glory for a single shred of leniency when it comes to the day to day pain I experience now. It was all worth it, and Mat, I'm sure, feels the same. He was uploading new footage to his youtube channel a few years ago, haven't checked it for a bit but he still has it as far as aging out goes, he's not. Thanks for the old footage uploaded in decent res, I miss the days of watching this stuff on TV in the morning and heading out to ride all day with incredible motivation and determination.
