You are correct we do in some places call it saran wrap we also call it cling film, Reynolds warp, or just, plastic cling, or as I and my family nomaly do plastic wrap. Diffrent parts of the country have diffrent brands availablable historicly, so have assoiated the product whith the brand name. We are much more regional than most of the world is lead to belive.

Wow I didn't know that. As a brit I don't think I really understand the regional difference in the US and just how large the country is . As the saying goes In the UK 100 miles is a long way and in the US 100 years is a long time . I love the way social media has the ability to connect people globally. 🧶

When handling acid dye powder, it is very important that you wear a face mask, the miniscule particles are so dangerous. I've stopped using these powder dyes now and use food colouring dye, the sort that you use on icing sugar, the method is just the same and l'm very happy with the results.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It's always important to prioritize safety when working with any kind of dye, especially those that can be harmful if inhaled. I'm glad you found an alternative method that works well for you.

One question Becca, did you wash the wool after removing from the cling film? Or you didn’t and just let it dry?🤔 I did a lot of dyeing before and I really enjoyed painting them 🥰💜

I didn't. I probably should have but I don't when I natural dye and I'm in the habit of not washing dyed fiber until it is yarn. . Experiment and let me know what you think 🤔

@@bybeccalewis Ya, I guessed it’s logical to wash after you spun so only have to wash once.😊. I normally wash mine after dyed most probably because I was selling them both as dyed too and some I sold as carded art batts. So it’s logical for me to wash mine😅.💜

I put mine in the microwave for about 5 to 6 minutes, instead of a steam bath. Everything else is the same as what you did.
